He’s no pushover either, about time we had a disciplinarian in charge.
Its an Omen, We will never know until someone gives him a break.
The very last thing that we need is to select a very dubious candidate in order to 'give him a break'. As for being a 'disciplinarian', he is likely to piss off the players and spend a lot of his time watching from the stand.
Where is the evidence that he would likely fit the bill as a player/coach or manager let alone lead a NL club to promotion in his initial season? I find it hard to believe that the owners are even considering such an appointment. Hopefully It's either fake news or a distraction from the actual target(s).

Everything on this thread is hypothetical, We all have opinions.
Sometimes a coach, player needs a break to prove their worth, So i for one would be willing to 'give him a break'
A lot of ,If not all the names doing the rounds would not come to the north east, Shitty arses stuck in their comfort zone.
And some who people have touted One in particular, Would have been a massive gamble imo.

It didn't sound 'hypothetical' yesterday when Cattermole's appointment was (allegedly) imminent and even reported by the Mail, Sunderland and Northern Echo, although the latter generally only mention Pools when it's perceived as bad news for obvious reasons. You are correct, everyone has their opinion and mine (and others) is that we could and should do much better than that. Even under Raj we managed to attract some high profile managers with a decent track, even if most of them failed miserably at Pools. Not sure who the One you are referring to is but Cattermole would most certainly also represent a massive gamble. It is essential that we hit the ground running next season - and maintain the momentum - so no place for a rookie - but that's only my opinion of course.
