The Poolie Bunker

Aye, a little green wooden place.

Wow forgot all about the little shop. It must be 40 years back Also the little shop opposite King George field play area and opposite the Touchdown.

The bungalow shop on Throston

Stockton market when it had actual stalls

Aye before they ballsed it all up into a windswept ‘performance area’ and wrecked a proper High Street.

Like most places in the U.K. bulldozed the traditional route for High Street and built concrete jungles to include the obligatory multi story car park.
With the introduction of Retail Parks most of the Shopping Centres are full of phone shops and charity shops with a high percentage of empty units.

All it is now is a place for druggies and dealers a place to do buisness

I understand when work starts on the shopping centre again that the restriction on retail only outlets will be removed, so for arguments sake doctor could open up inside.

When smoking was allowed on TV even on talk shows.

Bubble cars ...We used to have one on our street back in 1968 and we kids would open the front door and clamber in during shit weather.

Reliant Robins, I used to get a lift to work in one, very unstable easy to roll over as the lad found out later.

sunday afternoon drivers who had to wear hats and purchased the slowest cars as possible just to annoy those who were actually going somewhere and wanted to get there. they seemed luckily to be a dead breed now.

Blue skies before the dreaded chem trails

I’m still seeing women driving their cars with masks on still…they’re in a car by themselves, do they think the bloody car can pass it on.

They are called nut jobs

Some people wear masks because they have allergies, nothing to do with Covid.

or actually look better with a mask on than without one. if there were no masks they,d convert to islam.

Radio jingles from the past

Was driving home from work tonight listening to the local radio when Tina Turner's Simply the Best came on the radio So she builds up to the line 'Your Simply The Best'

Can anyone guess what line, I subconsciously followed it up with?

South Cleveland Garages

you can say that but its still superior to a lot of those others that have either deteriorated or gone completely. it needs judging against present conditions and not the past. her in the kitchen loves it and do not want to burst her bubble by going on about its better past.

When 1st class stamps were expensive at 0.68p around 10 yrs ago. Now a whopping £1.25p. Looks like the post office is now ripping off the customers to pay compo to the poor post masters.

Oscars was before Churchills, both were furniture shops, they were called Wine Bars initially. Years later Oscars was burgled after a Bank Holiday W.E., the takings were in tha safe as the banks were shut. The manager went home left his keys in the house went out and some one burgled his house and stole the pub keys ?
Bobby Kerr ex Sunderland ran Oscars for bit.

car main dealers where someone in the parts department know something about a vehicle thats not a current model.

Yo Yo biscuits.

Colonel Muammar Muhammed Abu Minyar al - Gaddafi. Before my eyes were opened I hated this man for being the Lockerbie monster. But around 10 yrs before his murder in 2011 my opinion changed after I looked into his leadership and the real " Colonel Gaddafi " the real stories. Probably 90% of people still believe the proper ganda regarding him to this day which is really sad I definitely suggest you take a look into the real man and the unbelievable stuff he did for his people before throwing any rocks.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto…..was he the campest cowboy ever.

When Power Steering nor a radio was standard on a new car..
