I tried that but the one they're all on doesn't stop there. It's the one after on the way down and the third after on the way back. :-(

Is that Ernie Marples getting on that train?

Anyone remember Ernie Marples, inventor of the M1?

Despit intensive searches there's very little on T'Internet about the League Liner, British Rails Ill-fated attempt to get Football Fans to matches in the 70's.

I know it had a Disco Carraige, Buffet, Cinema etc but they hardly ever worked.

The day Pools got on it (Swansea Away 1975) there was hell on. Nowt worked, no disco, no cinema and NO HEATING!! Plus there was loads of chew at Cadriff with Egg-Chaser fans.

I was on that Swansea trip. We got slung off at Cardiff for throwing beer cans at the rugby fans. The British Transport Police chucked us out of the station with the comment that 'Hartlepools that way' and we went under the tunnel up the other side, across the tracks and back on the other side of the train. We hid in the bog and got one of the lasses to say that her brother was in there being sick.

We lost 1-0, I got chucked out of the ground and got hit on the head with half a wallie.

Happy days.

I'm already sorted cheers mate but was wondering what everyone else was doing.

Possibly a couple of spare tickets for the train if anyone is interested?
