He's featured in 15 of 17 matches this season which hardly suggests he's being frozen out.
The way people are going on about him I actually feel a bit sorry for him. He was playing Northern League football this time last year and some people seem to be putting him on some sort of pedestal. It's a long season he'll get his opportunities and the time to learn and get better. He definitely has a chance of making a career for himself but I don't think he's at a stage were he warrants starts every week, his all round game probably needs to improve a bit before he's at that stage. I'm sure he doesn't want all the attention himself and would rather just get his head down.
playing basically wide on the left is playing out of position isn't it? Whether he is part of a front three or not. The York game a prime example of this where he didn't know whether he was coming or going. Where not winning games, were hardly scoring any goals and he cant get his game against the worst sides in the country this suggests chances of becoming a regular under Moore are remote.
He's never played wide on the left, since we switched to 4-4-2 Oates has started, when he has (like at York) he has in a forward in a 4-3-3. Agreed left or right of Paynter but it's not a wide position. Obviously especially away from home playing that formation your forwards have to also work hard and do a job going the other way, if he can't do that then it's one of the areas he needs to work on and improve. He was really poor at York, Oates came on and did a lot better. He was awful for 45 minutes in the previous away game I saw him at Carlisle (when playing in a front two) before Harewood came on and changed the game.
I agree with those people talking about midfield, we need leaders at both central half (beyond this month) and a commanding presence in centre midfield. Our front two look pretty good to me, the goals will come, at least they are creating chances to miss.
