The Poolie Bunker

I have just had a thought about Saturday. These bl**dy police closing the pubs, making it all ticket etc. How many times has our fans been praised this season? Darlo, Wycombe...............

Why do they interfere?

ACAB

4-Skins!!!!

Hanging around with my mates one night
We got in a little fight
Geezer come with a knife in his fist
I got cut along with the wrist said

A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B.
All cops are bastards

Coppers come up & say what's the matter with you?
now they see what we can do
Next thing I knew I was in a cell
all my mates are in there as well

A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B.
All cops are bastards

I had a court date to plead my case
they had delight at the look in my face
they said we're gonna put you away
I said all I had to say

A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B., A.C.A.B.
All cops are bastards

'Cops'????

Me best mates....not one!!!!

I've noticed lately that there's more and more Police input coming on club websites as well. 'if you're drunk you won't get in...' 'Don't turn up without a ticket...' 'sit down...' 'shut up....' 'we'll be there in numbers...' 'The bars will be closed...'

We all know there's daft lads and a lot of us know who they are and what they get up to but in the usual heavy handed manner these days you're guilty by association, even if you don't associate, before you've even opened your eyes.

I'll still never get over the coppers at Sunderland stood snapping the pea sticks off the kids flags. Flucking heroes...... Bravely upsetting children.

My favourite line of rhetoric is 'These people aren't football fans they're 'mindless' hooligans.' Then, after they've made the distinction.................... they treat all the football fans like hooligans!!!

At least the Greater Manchester Police seem little more relaxed than the Brizzle lot. This is the advice on their official site

"I'll still never get over the coppers at Sunderland stood snapping the pea sticks off the kids flags."

Just like the '16 yr old stewards' were doing in the Cyril Knowles side of the ground like Friday.

I was sooooooooooooooooooo angry.

its our own fault we dont challenge them and of course all you stupid fookin bastards who voted for blair are also to blame

Yes, because the Police were a model of perfect behaviour under the Tories

Hillborough, The Miners Strike, Wapping, I dont seem to recall the fuzz handing out flowers and sweets during those little disagreements, do you?

Meanwhile the striking miners carried on their absolute non violent protest. They at no time terrorised anyone who dared to speak out about the pathetic strike, no-ones windows were smashed or kids beaten up. No families were ostracised for the heinous crime of going to work to feed their kids.

The miners brought the whole sorry episode on themselves because of their outrageous greed. furthermore one of the prime reasons that the NCB were in such a poor state was the institutional thievery within the pits.

A truely stunning re-writing of history.

Speechless

Just thought I'd have a quick check on Pools - stumbled over this. Feck. Back to work for me then.

although the headline reason for the strike was pay....... they miners did say that the gov of the day wanted to destroy the mining industry in the uk, history has proved that to be the case......there was and still is 100yrs worth of coal still beneath us, yes with modern day thinking of global warming, it is not politically correct to burn fossil fuel, but in china and other developing countrys a new coal fired power station comes on line every month...........
currently there is a scheme being developed to burn the coal in situ, harness the energy and replace the void left with the waste products and co emmissions, now thats a legacy to leave future generations, a vast void underground in a green and pleasant land full of posionus gases.......

we should all go and live in the forests and hills. Or the moon.

why did the police boo you's?

because they'd emptied greggs

Scargill appealled to the lowest common denominator - greed. He promised that everyone would get a huge pay rise or he would bring down the government just like the NUM had with the gormley/Heath strike.

Unfortunately for Arthur he found his nemesis in Mrs T who had sworn on taking office that she would never be ambushed like Heath had been and she order the power stations to build up huge reserves of coal.

Scargill used the miners for his own political and Moscow funded ends. He left them broke and in many cases homeless while he drew his NUM wage and travelled around with his bully boys (flying pickets) in his nice new Jag. The miners went along with him because he promised them wages increases hence I referred to greed.

what were you doing in the phonebox Mr A did you get any numbers

Sorry to go against the tide Mutley but it is true.

Had you wandered into any house in any pit village pre strike, you would have found that everyone had an NCB jacket whether they worked there or not. Every house had an NCB first aid kit. Every house had an NCB tool kit. All gardening spades had the letters NCB emblazoned on them... shall I go on?

And????

Our Bathroom is full of Izel toilet paper!!!!

The Milksnatchers economic reasoning behind desimating the coal industry and ruining whole areas of already depressed regions did not have anything to do with First Aid kits and spades!

Fair enough, Scargill wanted a scrap - as she did - but he was also trying to get better living standards for his Union. Her reasoning was to show her might and barbaric/extreme economic viewpoint.

Its a divise issue and one that have have aged out of argueing about. She needed it for her own ends - the dispute - and the callous and vindicitve way she politicised the state and the police have tainted our society irrecovably.

I really cannt spell can I?

Heres to 3 points and silverware.

Sliante - off to the pub!!

A sorry state of affairs was the Miners Strikes of 84/85.

The way whole villiages and comunities were ripped apart was a national disgrace brought ABOUT by the POLITICS Of THE THATCHER GOVERMENT.

Why??? All they wanted was a better standard of living and a decent wage for a weeks work not to much too ask.

Anybody remember Thatchers walk in the Wilderness.

Nothing to do with Scargill then?

No he was doing what he thought was best for his members but was made a scapegoat by Thatcher.

Back from pub ...

Scargill, as I said previously, was up for it but MilkSnatcher made damn sure she got that chaos that it wanted.

BBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hate Thatcher me. Cannt wait till she snuffs it -BIG party up here.

you're talking about poolpowers ideal date there, feckingrooney

sorry mr i but you are talking crap again about your favourite subject
working class tories make me laugh

sounds like you were the only one to get a medal from the tories and you are making sure you go for the knight hood

the whole tory pack were a bunch of wusses letting that woman walk all over them and not having the balls to stand up to her until it was too late
she did more to promote labour than any spin doctor could ever do
and she is the reason they have been out of office for so long
i say well done maggie

Stalinism resurected

Ian, if the Labour party voted for over 50's euthanasia only in Hartlepool you would support them. Forgive me if I kinda skip over your commie ramblings.

been busy so havent really read it much lately but mr is right in a lot of aspects.

bugger that re the police not being angels on the picket line and hilsbrough and elsewhere - no they werent angels on picket line but what were they dealing with - men were trying to fookin work and were getting big bad shit off of their friends who believed what the little ginger bastard said to them whilst they were begging for food outside smiths in the town centre and he was still pocketing his handsome retainer. no way did he think he was doing the best for his members he was tryng initially to cement himslelf in his union in an internal power struggle and then thought he was just aking on the ncb and not the government - which he lost!

hillsbrough - dont even go there - someone had to be blamed and because of the tragedy - as horific as it was - the police seemed to take the public brunt of it - however i do the maths and decide that if the 2500-3000 hadnt turned up without tickets would there have been the issues that there were? to me nobody likes to blame themselves or their peers for such an incident so look to another factor and in this instance it were the police.

my experience of the police at footy is that they are indeed bastads and since nobhead blair was voted in that the behaviour and attitude of the plod has detiorated so badly that they are now indeed a law to themselves and the government seems to be able to change laws to suit themselves and not the general public - the curent laws relating to football fans and movement is abso fookin ridiculous and the we that all are treat like shite is a travesty - but look at how little you can do in your private life now or soon - restrictions restrictions restrictions - not education education education - everything will be monitored and chargeable and trend analysis of YOU AND YOUR FAMILY will be noted and you will be categorised as a risk family as you once spoke on your phone in the car, put some cardboard in your bin, took your child to school late, missed a dr's appointment and had ale in your hand on a bus going to the footy. meanhwhile you wanna avoid paying 30 mill tax - fine no prob - still want to keep bringing you smack into the country - fine no prob - we have to have enough smack in this country as we wouldnt be able to handle the the reation to a lack of it - fookin country is up the shitter
anyway title tomorrow?

If the Labour party 'destroy' the health service, I will give up buying my dinner from Greggs and buy and listen to a Clash CD

sorry dibbs i forgot you were a telegraph reader and believe their polls

same old cry from mr i commies be buggerd

It was who had the bigger balls....unions or the government.

Who won?

some more of your irrelevant posts
so every labour supporter is a commie?
the only thing that a conservative government did for the working man was to to bleed them dry
next time you talk to your new mate ask him about this one
with all the clarity of dream
the sky so blue, the grass so green
the rank and file and the navy blue
the deep and strong, the straight and true

the blue line they got the given sign
the belts and boots marched forward in time
the wood and the leather the club and shield
swept like a wave across the battlefield

now with all the clarity of dream
the blood so red, the grass so green
the gleam of spur on the chestnut flank
the cavalry did burst upon the ranks

oh the iron will and the iron hand
in england's green and pleasant land
no music for the shameful scene
that night they said it had even shocked the queen

well alas we've seen it all before
knights in armour, days for yore
the same old fears and the same old crimes
we haven't changed since ancient times

sums it up for me

I lived in the middle of the whole thing, Worksop is two miles from the South Yorkshire border, and one mile from the Derbyshire border, three different NUM branches with different agendas. Remember the iconic picture of the two lads chained to the winding gear top at Cresswell?? A particularly good mate of mine called Terry Butkeraitis. I saw the soup kitchens and riots at Manton and Dinnington when the flying pickets came in chucking potatoes with nails through them and coach bolts. You could buy anything you wanted out of the small ads for no money. I was even sharing a flat with a pit electrician at the time.

The Union did fu ck all for the rank and file. The whole thing was Scargills personal crusade and only South Yorkshire were behind him. Scargills worst enemy wasn't Thatcher it was Joe Gormley who had given the miners such a cushy number that they weren't hungry enough to stay behind Scargill. If anything Scargill took away their cushy number and once they realised that it wasn't going to be a matter of weeks they got anxious and started to abandon him, then the bully boys turned up.

There's still a fantastic amount of enmity in Worksop about that strike. There's still whole families who are at daggers drawn, twenty odd years later. In my book, it wasn't Thatcher who destroyed the industry and the communities, it was Scargill. Like all the Nationalised industries of the time, the greedy shortsighted, intransigent, militant Trade Unions priced themselves out of the markets and destroyed the Union culture in the country.

shooting kidder

never been and never will be a paid up memeber of any party
we are all cannon fodder to the political system no matter what party they claim not to support
just some of these so called middle class silver spoon suckers turn my milk
social climbers

it was always going to be a no win situation for the miners
against a jack boot loony like she was
