I'm off to Manchester next weekend with my sister and her best mate for a Hen Weekend but, I want to go to the Rochdale game,

Can I really ditch my sister in order to go? (I've already broached the subject and gained very grudging permission)

I think probably Yes - she likes pools (not enough to go to Rochdale ) and would understand (eventually)

Having got past this problem there is an even bigger concern -

I've NEVER seen Pools win an away game. (Yep, I admit I wasn't at Darlo )

Anyway, my quandary is this:

Should I:

Go to Rochdale with possibility of seeing Pools win the title and spending the entire weekend reminding my sister she'd missed out (all for the lure of shopping in the Arndale) or

Should I find a nice bar in Manchester and camp out there for the afternoon , resplendent in my pools top, listening to the radio. Thereby avoiding insane guilt if we don't win and being able to garner sympathy, for the entire weekend, because I missed the party should thing go to plan?

so why dont you just toss a coin and see what it says..... heads you go to the game tails you go the pub....

However whatever you do please dont tell us...

If your sister doesn't understand your obsession with Pools, have her looked at as there is something seriously wrong in her noggin.

Secondly, to address the jinx thing, since I emigrated Pools have lost once. I'm the jinx not you. You may be a pale imitation but I can claim the crown.

So the solution. Tell your sister that you are going to Rochdale, it's three hours of her life and if she doesn't like it, TT. Thereafter, if she's chosen not to go with you and Pools win their historic title, you can point, laugh and drink at her expense all night, telling any hunky blokes that try and pull her that she's a saddo and a transexual.

You're family, it'll pass. She'll be your sister forever, this is a Pools one off.

You may have a point me owld seadog. But surely those would be the most expensive tickets in football history. So despite the tug on the heartstrings as I read the board every day, I think, six months rent or a flight to watch Pools?? and fiscal prudence kicks in!!
