Reform's Richard Tice tells Brits to stop fighting it and enjoy the heat.
Not bad advice for Brits considering how much we contribute to Carbon emissions on the global scale, we could stop burning fossil fuels and it wouldn't make an iota of difference so why not invest in making life more comfortable than wasting money on net zero.

That's common sense & the government don't seem to deal with things that are common sense. If I hear another so called "expert" mention climate change one more time, I will put my foot through the telly, I'm sick of it all now!!

We're wasting time, money, and effort if the big polluters aren't doing anything and at the end of the day there's no hard proof that if the whole world cuts carbon emissions to zero then the climate will stop changing.
Installing air conditioning in schools and hospitals should be prioritised right now.

There seems to be lots of "Former Labour Advisors" on news programmes giving their opinions and when you hear what they have to say it isn't surprising we're in the mess we are at the moment.

New properties are built to retain the heat, from my experience great in the winter but on hot day I couldn’t keep them cool, no point opening the windows as it just let the heat in. Fans are no good as they just recirculate the hot air, AC is the only solution.

AC is an expensive bolt on in our climate….apart from the past few weeks, most of my dog walks have been in bog standard must take a coat encounters.
The climate change commissars are obsessed with their belief in climate change..when a lecturer told us in the mid 70’s that the world had 10 years left, the only response he got was someone asked him why he was wasting his time teaching in stead of enjoying himself…..he changed the subject…now rhe students just accept what they’re told.

The ONS tells us that the UKs CO2 emissions have fallen to about 560m tonnes, about half of 1990 levels.
Meanwhile the Chinese alone have increased CO2 emissions from 9bn tonnes to 12bn tonnes in the last year. We are simply pissing in the wind and conning the loons into thinking the UK can make a difference. We'd make as much impact if we all closed our eyes and wished the sun wouldn't shine.
Net zero is an absolute con, they never publicise the carbon footprint for manufacturing, transportation, installation, lifetime maintenance, removal at end of life, transport, and disposal of wind turbines and solar panels. And, how can these technologies provide secure energy when they're mostly foreign owned, manufactured, and controlled? A simple kill switch in the control software could plunge the UK into darkness and stop almost everything.

we need to know that out CO2 and pollutants are more danger to the earth that the ones in asia. its a real british and especially labour topic where they would love to lead the world in on the backs ofthe populations pockets. you do not mind the pet scientists spouting their propaganda as they are paid for it, but not off the cuff remarks you get from non scientists that can crop up anytime. do not watch the soas anymore since they all went woke but i guess its mentioned on there. anyway this era of hot summers is like a pin prick on an elephant in the life of this planet.

A little country like the U.K. going green is not going to stop global warming albeit it has been quoted if we do other countries will follow suite ?
Trump is not bothered he has paid £4 billion compensation to companies to halt wind farms, ok for the States they have an abundance of fossil fuels.

Governments have provided no incentives to develop the North Sea due to their green energy policies.
2 controversial North Sea fossil fuel projects facing intense legal battles and court challenges are the Rosebank oil and gas field and the Jackdaw gas field. Their previous approvals were ruled unlawful for failing to account for downstream greenhouse gas emissions. If every new development has to go through expensive court cases I can’t see developers rushing to invest in the North Sea.

In a common sense world our government would partner with a large oil and gas producer and after opening up to new developments bring in billions in revenue and create thousands of jobs.
That is what Great British Energy should be doing.

You are correct Jamie.
Our Goverments, Tory and Labour and the Lib Dem’s have this Victorian view that world will follow our example and change their way as though it was 1900……
Their self delusion is beyond belief as they act like middle aged students buggering things up for us and our finances to prove a point to a world that that doesn’t give a flying ‘’fuck’.

I have no objection to wind farms or solar panels in moderation….but only if we manufacture them in the uk, instead of these fools importing them from China ….lets hope they can’t turn them off if the mood takes them any time in the future.
Even most of Londons new buses as recorded in a meeting in Parliament are imported from China, Christ on a bike if we can’t build buses here, the Europeans are a bit smarter on that score than us.

I don't mind the wind turbines, but I can't understand the reasoning behind turning farmland into solar farms meaning we produce less food and rely more on imports, again how green is it to fly or ship food produce that we can grow ourselves.
Pragmatic government should be working towards making us more self sustainable and that means supporting farmers, fishing, and a significant re-industrialisation imo.

drill and frack are the future if you want us to have a few more quid in our pockets to spend that will help many businesses to stay open. it will not happen though as they,ll dig up all the excuses not to do so and we do not know if there claims are legitimate. if an expert come son and de bunk them thats his funding over and where he is employed.

You’ve just stated all the things that in reality the Labour Party, the Conservatives and the Lib ‘Dims’ don’t give a flying feck about with their smug little beliefs….totally out of touch with reality politicians of the lowest standard for decades living in La La land.

there are not many issues where the majority of a country think the same but this is one. the ones who follow the governments are the young ones who have had to suffer 20 years of propaganda in schools and doing what we did go the opposite to our parents on many issues.

Had to laugh this morning when weather woman on ITV said Wisely had broken the all time record for driest place in the UK of 63 days without rain.
Next time she was on she pointed out that a viewer had reminded her that the driest spell recorded was actually 1893 with 79 days.

They are detached from reality……in my last job we had a trainee, supposed to work 5 days a week…Mon to Fri…..she then produced her phone and pointed out that four days would have to be half days starting with one that was for …..a dance class.
I pointed out she’d be working all five days 9 till 4.
She couldn’t comprehend the idea of being at work five full days…she argued the point, but was gone dinner time.
I couldn’t comprehend how someone could be so deluded.
That said, you get some really good kids, but I’ve found those from the aspiring classes and never made it to any Uni, are orbiting another planet.

Off topic but a vlog about how China has invented its own bridge building machines, tunnelling machines and how eventually they will have a machine that lays bricks.

I agree with the drilling but fracking unless it’s done a long way from inhabited areas it can cause problems with the amount of different chemicals they have to pump down to crumble the rock fissures to release the gas, it’s not like there is a huge pockets of gas, ok for The States because it can be done in the middle of nowhere.

But there are huge pockets of gas under large areas of the UK, generally speaking where there was coal you're likely to find oil and gas.
Fracking can be done safely, and is done widely as you say in the US and it's not all miles from towns and cities.
The zealous minority are holding this country back.
Some reports are now saying that Burnham will in fact sanction Jackdaw but is unwilling to do so just now as "the optics don't look good" during a heatwave and wildfires.

bet that viewer was popular. then records have not been taken for ever so nobody knows how hot or dry it was before records did start.

And how, where, and what they measure changes to fit the narrative.
Town and cities and even suburbs will be far hotter than previously as the areas become more and more built up and populated.

leeds is the nearest place to me on the weather map but we are lucky if the temperature is 3 degrees less both in summer and winter. then there is the new one where a heat wave has become a thing only after it reaches a certain temperature. once we just said when it was hot that we are having a bit of a heatwave but now its become official with its warnings that go along with it. next your phone klaxon will go off if the temperature somewhere in the country hits the heatwave number. as a country weather was always a talking point but never like it is now. thankyou government and their msm propaganda arm.

You need to read up on the attempted fracking in the U.K. and problems it as caused to the water supply in The States,
Timeline of the Fracking Halt2011: Operations at the Preese Hall well in Lancashire caused small earthquakes, triggering an initial temporary pause.2019:
The UK government halted fracking with an indefinite moratorium after a magnitude 2.9 tremor struck the Preston New Road site in Lancashire. Officials concluded that predicting earthquake sizes with current technology was impossible.
In the States although Trump would never admit it,
Water and Environmental ConcernsWater Pollution: Spills of fracking fluids and wastewater have contaminated surface streams and local groundwater aquifers in some regions.
Water Use: The process requires millions of gallons of fresh water, straining local water supplies in dry areas.
Methane Leaks: Methane gas escapes from wells and pipelines during production, acting as a powerful greenhouse gas that worsens climate change.

And you need to look at the bigger picture, the fact is that the US still extracts by means of fracking 30% of the entire worlds global gas production.
The environmental alarmists are always going to cite reasons not to do it, but it most certainly can be done safely. And without any data I'd hazard a guess that fracking is cheaper than shipping our conventionally drilled and produced gas requirements.

Fracking uses million gallons of water, currently in some places in the U.K. there is a hoe pipe ban, where are the fracking companies going to get the water from.
Read my earlier post PTID, in the area where they were fracking there were 2 minor earthquakes that’s why it was stopped.
Before posting supporting fracking have you ever researched how they frack for gas, obviously not, I doubt you would be the first to complain if they started fracking in your area.

I'm very familiar with how fracking works and fyi new licences are being granted right now to permit low volume fracking, some of the tremors that are caused using this technique are less than an HGV on the roads but the alarmists blow everything out of perspective. The biggest recorded tremor near a fracking site occurred at a time when the fracking contractors claimed they weren't even operating and they reckon it was a natural tremor.
There's no water shortages near the Lancashire or Yorkshire coasts where there are vast reserves of shale gas.

Instead of sensationalising or taking the naysayer stance Jamie try googling

2017-ea-water-factsheet.pdf

It's the Environment Agency fact sheet about water usage, environmental impact, drinking water protection, leakage, etc etc
All of the things you mention are covered and compliance is necessary before a fracking permit is issued. In summary they can't cause water contamination, shortages, leakage and more

The reasons behind the ban on fracking are all political and idealistic. Even the seismic event limits are way below those allowed by other countries and there's plenty of countries that do allow fracking.

The problem is simply the politicians of some Party’s have the same ethics and beliefs as the radical eco squad minority and despite their appearanes in the house, are all just activists themselves at heart.
That’s the rouble, the minority in most subjects are under the wing of politicians who despise to
the majority viewpoints of the electorate every time and embrace that which they sympathise with.
They’re not their to represent you, but constrain and frustrate you it seems as is becoming increasingly apparent.

One of my worst investments was in a fracking company called Igas, now called Star Energy. Back in 2007 they were £10 per share and by 2015 they were around £2.50 and everyone was seemingly gung ho or if in the vicinity of a site dead against, so in went my £3k nothing could go wrong here it’s the future. Well last time I looked they were worth about £200, such is life.

Can't argue with that, and it's been highlighted by this Labour government more than any imo.
They claimed and promised great plans for the future but have turned out to be the ultimate party of protest - quite happy to criticise, ban, and stall but that's there limit. Thank god they've not had a real crisis close to home, such as the pandemic or a war on our doorstep, to deal with so far.
History shows that success requires out of the box thinking, adventure, daring, innovation, etc
Very difficult when the country is being run by people who find it easier to say "you can't do that", "the problem is too big to face", "it's always been like this" - the UK is not going to influence climate change given our contribution to overall carbon emissions and we're a country in decline through trying to do so while the likes of China, India, USA, do feck all and prosper.

even when they bring in laws that are supposed to benefit people they end up not doing so. The national minimum wage quickly became the maximum one in some areas where those who were paid more got lower yearly increases where there was nothing much in it in the end. over the years other legislation meant to help workers like hours at work. much of that ended in lost overtime for many as nobody was ever forced to do the extra. firms actually were forced into upping the hourly rate to keep staff adding to there costs. in their eyes its all for the greater good but rarely is.
