This season I will be placing a bet on each and every one of Pool's league fixtures.

It will be just for fun, even though I will be putting my own cash on, as there is often very little value in football betting and I only like to bet when I have an edge. If I break even, then I will be pleased. However with the 2% commission Betfair charge, in theory I should be down a small amount but if I can somehow beat the odds, then I may even make a small profit. But that is not the point of my betting on Pools, I just want to see how well I can do and enjoy the season with a bet on each match.

I will post my bet and the odds I have got before each game kicks off and keep a running total of how well or how badly I am doing.
My stakes will vary depending on the odds.

Match No. 1:

Saturday 8th August Pools v Barrow, bet to follow...

You are all quite welcome to join in and post your predictions for Pools for each match, Win, Lose or Draw.

Are you also going to be doing the spreadsheet of our expected points you did last season Mr Stocksfield? It was excellent & it worked out almost spot on points wise at the end of the season.

We will beat Barrow 2-1, with hopefully a big crowd for Landons first full season. He has so far made lots of improvements, let's show him that we will back him with our support!!

Seconded, Francois!

I love Mr Stocksfield's spreadsheet

Head says draw- just purely because. we rarely seem to win our first game full stop
Heart says 2-1 win
Harris and Nolan to score, Reid bound to score for them

Crowd 4888

Nobody will know Reid better than our defenders. I don’t think they’ll score, we’ll win 2-0…

That's true, but this is Pools & an ex-player always comes back to haunt us & score a goal or 2 when we play their new team.

We can always hope that they use Reid as badly as Fevs did last season. Sticking him up front as an isolated target man with a slow defensive midfield providing him with nothing. How he managed to score 12 goals is beyond me.

Thanks for the feedback lads, yes the spreadsheet will be back for expected points versus actual points.
Hopefully this time, we are predicted to gain at least 80 points!

going for a 2-1 defeat. nothing better than betting against pools as if you are wrong you are delighted but you can get into smug corner when you are the only one who gets the result correct because everyone is positive.

I'm feeling confident...
3-1 Pools
Harris(x2) and OffyerPop with Reid getting the obligatory 'Return to Pools' goal for them.
Att: 4,800

UP the Pools
