FIFA are considering selling the World Cup to American business interests. It has also been suggested that the World Cup takes place every 2 years with 64 countries competing in the final stages. What used to be the working man’s game is, or has, become big corporate business.

It'll lose its shine if it becomes more frequent, not that I give a shiny shite about it. My footballing interests lie a lot closer to home in the lower leagues.

it will be like the premier league on steroids. thousands priced out or getting into debt to watch football we have seen the game at its best but now money is the ruling factor its gone. even at out non league level there is corporate and things going on that the average fan has no interest in.

The only grounds for a bit of optimism is that UEFA and CONCACAF are up in arms about this. The question is, will they stick to their guns?

If Infantino hasn't got the European and South American nations on board it doesn't matter how many votes he gets off the rest of the world, he's screwed. The World Cup is nothing without them.

I think this Infantino blokes gone mad! If he gets away with this he will kill the world cup. If we (UEFA + ALL) let him, we deserve it! Infantino is obsessed with money and power and he's been mixing with Trump and Co for too long.

Too often/too many teams/too much football = apathy.

or in the end just turning your backs on it. everyone can get too much of a good thing and even in our last promotion season i was glad when it was all over. even when playing i was also glad for a few months away so how will players feel playing 12 months a year football when so many of them are not that keen on the game anyway. can see big burnouts happening but there will most likely be big compo around for it. eventually A Christmas Carol will be re written with scrooge as a football owner with bob cratchet his international star who wants time off from football over christmas and new year because he is played out.

To be resisted surely….?
This sounds like something that will lose the games originality, resulting in a poorer grade of the game we love and threatens its original concrpt.

££££….$$$$…..€€€€….££££…..$$$$…..€€€€…….?

Double excellent.

If the boycott actually goes ahead (which I doubt because Gianni Cash will back down) I won’t mind, rather no World Cup, than an every two years, 100 team World Cup.

these bodies can resist and ask there members not to enter. however there is no money to gain from this and i,ll be shocked if no single country refuses to follow there national ruler and wants to get their grubby mitts on the FIFA millions. apart from the corrupt continents it would only take a few european and south american big names to want to enter for the opposition to fade away.

I guess UEFA having the Euros every 4 years will help keep the smaller UEFA countries in their place as leaving UEFA for Infantio's World Series football Cup will cost them more in the long run due to crazy qualifying groups outside Europe

Support for Infantino from Qatar?...Well he did criticize the West for having concerns about migrants rights working on world cup 22, with a reminder of our 3000 year history, and the struggles he had at school having ginger hair...Yeah right,kojak..

That's not his real head btw..ask anyone it's AI-generated.
