Mentioned Nolan a while ago and said we should sign him, pleased that we have managed to do so!

Nice to see us winning races to complete signings for a change. Hasn’t happened much in recent years…

That's an outstanding effort from Pools, securing him on a two year deal.
We'll be the envy of many in this league- a proper statement signing to back up Hugill last week.
His figures last season were top notch- particularly given that he was playing in a shit team.
A great age and his best days are still in front of him. We've got a top player on our hands there.
Probably our best signing since Askey brought in Mani D. from Halifax.

Welcome on board Jack - let the good times roll!

Excellent addition, worth the wait. If this is the standard of player we are determined to bring in, we are heading upwards.

now go for Blacket at South Shields and have two goal scorers battling it out. we need a decent keeper Harrison Male ex York city Golden gloves past two seasons.

Very good signing now organise the forwards to play to his strengths and watch it happen. Light the blue touch paper and stand well back and enjoy the show.

Pools get their man. Not 'close, but no cigar' - a proper statement of intent. Gerrin!

Exact sort of signing I hoped we’d be making under the new ownership. Young, in form with a couple of seemingly good seasons under his belt, and if the rumours of other clubs sniffing around (which let’s be honest is likely given his goal record last year) a sign that players are taking us seriously. Let’s hope it’s not the only of its kind. A top quality keeper and a midfielder capable of passing a ball should be next on the list.

hope i do not come over as victor meldrew but his signing is not getting me all giddy. possibly good things will come from him like getting his career back on track after being released by 2nd div. gillingham and a good season at morecambe. could replicate last season but we need to be playing more attacking football for that to happen. morecambe did not get relegated because of lack of goals scored and unlike us they looked dangerous.

There are various scenarios attached to every signing. Will he be able to continue the form that encouraged the club, any club, to go after him is one of the most prominent ones.
Will he settle in, fit in, get the service he needs, do the manager's tactics suit him, avoid serious injury etc etc. The list is endless.
His recent pedigree suggests he is worth a shot and therefore give him the welcome it should attract and get behind the lad.
Like most goalscorers he will thrive on opportunities so supplementing him with the right service will go a long way.
Let's hope his time with us is fruitful.
Good luck Mr Nolan.

One who isn't incoming is that lad Stephen Walker from Scarborough. He's signed a 2 year deal with Yeovil.

We’re all scarred by repeated false dawns (or years of no dawns at all), but one of the main reasons that Morecambe looked dangerous is because they had Nolan in their side. Morecambe didn’t make Nolan look good, Nolan made Morecambe look dangerous.

Exactly. Nolan scored or made getting on for half their goals last season, and he scores goals from all over the pitch - including long-range efforts and free kicks.
