Lee Clark’s youngin’ teasing on X that Pools are signing Jack Nolan…

Highly sought after following his time at Morecambe.

Have also heard there is interest in a certain South Shields striker… time will tell.

I am enjoying all the rumours. Even if nothing comes of them, it is much better than zero footy talk which has been the recent case.

Aye it's the par for the course at this time of year, Ozzy.

Watmore, Hugill, Blackett & Nolan would be some forward line- if that came off!

Sadly the Duncan Watmore link is just a rumour.

Walker, McKeown, Hugill, Blackett & Nolan might be more realistic…

Stephen Walker Scarborough?? I noticed he'd left Scarborough and he's done well for them, you think he's coming here?

The rumours are coming thick and fast. Pools supposed to be in the hunt for Will Harris, a free agent after scoring 22 for Halifax last season, including the long-range winner at the Vic in March that put paid to our faint hopes of a play-off place.

Nolan and Harris. That would do nicely

Stephen Walker is also on the rumour list for Yeovil so if we want him and he can stay in his home area get going.

I think Yeovil have been quite active in the transfer market, under new ownership too.

Will Harris is under contract for another season at Halifax.

Also heard we've looked at Walker.

Rob Law seems confident we're pushing to get Nolan, wasn't aware of that one myself but would be a statement signing, was one of the best players in this league last season.

Ah. Can't see us paying the kind of fee that would be needed to prise him away, so that one's wishful thinking.

Three of the players we are linked with who are available on a free are Nolan, Mckeown (Spennymoor) and Stephen Walker. It wouldn't surprise me if we signed at least two of those. I think Stephen Walker would be a great signing for us.

Pools are also pushing for a goalkeeper from a Premier League club - Elyh Harrison is the name that has been mentioned. Club expected to make some serious waves this week with incomings, those mentioned above are real possibilities - though there is nothing in the Duncan Watmore rumours.

Yes, Harrison has been on Man United books - seen the same rumour. He didn't get much of a look in on loan to Shrewsbury last season, but that counts for nothing if their first choice keeper was any good.

Hope he's better than the last player we had from Scarborough (Whose name escapes me) Think he was a centre half with funky hair!?

I forgot his name as well.
He played for Darl
o in that 8 0 defeat at Chorley and played for Buxton in their semi final defeat at South Shields.

And before that Ken Ellis, another with funky hair. Don't remember him as being prolific but he was a grafter.

never really thought he was given a chance. spent most of his time as an unused sub or the extra man chosen to run up and down the touchline for what looked like a punishment. did not look too ba going forward but not so defensivley. thing is we have had worse

Agree with you there, from what I saw of him he looked pretty decent. I always had the feeling his face didn't fit or wasn't made to feel welcome. There was a period of time when david ferguson was having a really poor run of form and I could never understand how he wasn't given a chance.

jealous of a bloke having a good head of hair. don,t smile as i suffered a bald assessor who took offence to me having longer hair than most refs or lino,s by the low marks he gave me compared to the others.

No wonder the standard of refereeing is criticised so much if that is the sort of petty behaviour that is going on.

never affected me but those in charge do not like refs havin tattoos. remember mark clattenburg who always wore a long sleeved shirt. he did because he was told to do so because of tattoos on one or both arms.
