Well beat today 4-1 by Bolton, Stockport had a player sent of for hair pulling, a common offence nowadays by all accounts, I can’t imagine Challinor being too irrespective it was near the end and they were getting beat 3-1 at the time.

Along side Bolton Stockport looked a very poor side on the day> Excellent goal from the overhead kick a classy player and good use of the subs by the Bolton Manager.

Teams don’t win 4-0 every week, they had a bad day at the ‘office’…no big deal at all.

Play offs Failure ain't as good as triumph but it's a hell of a lot better than getting nowhere near them continously.

As we Gunna find out next season.
Our first trip to Wembley then!!

Money bags Salford City's turn today..and head to head results with Notts County look in their favour..Still,Neville gets on my tits, so i'll be looking out for a county win in this one..

Surely Sky will not be creeping up to Neviile on pundit duty only if they loose to hear the excuses as he does when MU loose. They get 2,950 average attendance about 600 per game less than Pools.

Bonanza- well done Notts County! I'm delighted they put the hobbyists back in their box- 3 nil is fairly comprehensive!

how many did salford take i wonder. double there average attendance would not even fill the home parts of the vic.

tell that to my lad who supports stockport. 9 play off campaigns with only one success. 8 games at wembley with only one victory. depends on your outlook but for me i prefer never to have achieved nowt the the recent pools way than they have recieved next to nowt via the play offs.

The play offs to me are just a nice money making marketing gimmick that throw a promotion place up in the air like a bone to a pack of dogs.
Do away with it and let the team who actually earned their spot over a full season keep it.

For me I think the play offs help massively in keeping seasons alive, and our 2 players off final appearances must surely have hooked a few new Poolies for life. Without the play offs would we still be averaging over 3000 home gates in div 5?

The ply offs Deffo upped the crowds over the years and not just for Pools.

They produce hope n false hope which extends the season of hope bringing in Xtra revenues.

I think Birmingham got 28000 v Boro despite being 8 points behind the play offs and the commentary said they still in the mix

Id still take a top7 next season all day long then enter the gamble of hope n lottery with a bit of skill and a shit load of luck.

Opinions will always differ, I just think it’s all about more cash and false hope…mainly cash.
Rochdale not going up this year would have been a travesty.

Bolton have ‘rewarded’ their captain after the victory over Stockport, Bolton Wanderers released their long-serving captain George Johnston on a free transfer just 48 hours after he led the club to victory in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

rochdale not going up will slow any attempt to get 2 automatic promotion places back to the efl. it will also give ammunition for the play off lovers. seems pointless playing 46 games in a season only for your future to be decided by a couple of end of season games with a tired squad who would love a break. supposed to have stretched the season but only if you believe in some sort of miracle in many cases.

Would have thought it might add a bit of weight to the 2 automatic spots, top 2 teams achieving 100+ pts, would have been a total injustice if they failed to go up. That would have left the next four to lash it out in a straight fight as it were.
2 straight up and 4 in playoffs, home and away leg then Wemberly final seems common sense really, however the trouble with common sense is it ain't too common

This league is a bottleneck in the entire system.

clubs will have to vote this in or out. would be interesting to see which way york and rochdale would vote now they are back in the league or pools if we ever get back there. know as a fan now i,d vote for 2 auto places but then put the drawbridge up once we achieved efl status.
