Just shows how little attention you actually pay to posts, the title of the thread is actually Reform not Farage as you're claiming!

Hopefully this is the kick in the a@se that Labour need to reset and go back to the left, to allow two main parties with clear separation not the blurred mess we have now, that has been brought about by the invention of career MP's, who will do whatever it take to keep their noses in the trough. Are you inferring that everyone who represents Reform locally is "thick as mince"?

well thats what many of the left think of reform voters and the ones who voted for brexit. they seem to think they are the only ones with a brain cell. could say they are the ones who are thick voting for a party where some actually disagree with some of their policies. cannot see many older voters who have been labour all there lives thrilled with 20mph speed limits, green policies thats costing them money and keeping the heat off or what is a woman issue. thats before you mention the immigration lack of policy. a subject that was never a big issue unless you were a follower of the real far right like the national front.

Isn’t Farage the leader of Reform, I think that’s enough to consider the topic includes Farage and not Labour/Starmer, as always PTID grasping at straws.

But hey each to their own!

I wasn't aware of that issue, if they work hard for the people they represent that's more important I suppose, I just find it astonishing that Labour would look at the results last week and think the solution would be to turn further to the left, most of those voters last week were saying Labour are already too far to the left, a party does not always have to be the total opposite in its views of opposing parties, they can have common ground on some issues.

Labour too far to the left, they are a centralist party, far left parties won’t get elected nowadays, when was the last far left Labour Party, the 70s ?

Centrist my arse…….they come under the category of student Union fantasists who live in a fantasy

And just under 50% of Tory MPs went to a public school, they really will have the working class at heart.land….Yogi Bear Marxists fits the bill.

Apologies to Yogi, but you’ll understand.

The frightening thing that we are faced with, apart from Starmer staying in situ, is can anybody put their hand on their heart and be confident that any of them stand out as being worthy of the chance of being given the job.
Never in the history of this Democracy has such a bundle of incompetent amateurs been assembled on the Government benches of our Parliament as we have now.
I've heard wide and varied reasons over my lifetime for not replacing someone who is totally out of his depth but "we have no one else within our 400 plus ranks capable of doing any better" really takes the biscuit.
If the current bunch calling themselves a Government can't solve the problem then do the honourable thing and go back to the people for their decision.
We can't be made to suffer this bunch of amateurs much longer.

Derwent you have at least another 3 years to ‘suffer the bunch of amateurs’

I wouldn’t say thick as mince but influenced/ill informed by what they read watch on MSM, the majority of the people who vote Reform are lower earners probably on benefits, Reform has said they will cut/stop in work benefits.
This is one of the vlogs from LBC by Farage loving Ferrari which people listen to and believe that a person was not deported because of his dislike of foreign chicken nuggets.

think many low earners will vote for reform but not the ones who recieve benefits or have loads of kids. there is only one real party still for them and labour needs them. the other big reform voters will be those on pension or getting close to it who financially and culturally cannot afford the other party,s.

Are you hurt by the MSM slagging off your mate Starmer? Well, they were right to do so,it's all come true,he's feckin useless!!

It also seems you have a problem with Farage wanting to tighten up eligibility for illegals and the work shy to claim Benefits,PIP and UC..Tough!!

Instead of watching that political custard shite ,take time out and watch UK crime, take a good look at the criminals appearing in Crown Courts all over the country, then ask yourself how the hell have they not been deported.

Not hurt by MSM slagging off Starmer, he brought it upon himself but maybe they should start looking into Farages £5million gift, why he pulled 317 Brexit candidates from the 2019 election, according to Ben Habib he was paid £1 million for that. there was loads of focus when Starmer got some free specs, match tickets and Rayner tax affairs btw she has been acquitted
Political Custard tells it how it that’s obviously why you think its sh*te to you because it’s the truth, Farage is spouting off as usual about as usual about immigration. Do a bit of research not all inwork benefits are paid to scroungers, it’s because employers don’t pay them enough to live on.
No interest in looking at the courts why should I, it’s been going on since Brexit, who promoted Brexit, remind me, nought’s going to change.

Farage made use of the £5 million he got for security, bought a house for £1.4 million cash.

If he has to pay for his own security then buying a property to live in which gives him that security must be a priority, and that won't come cheaply.

As ever Jamie pronounces Farage guilty before the investigation really even starts.
Has he got any evidence to support his claim that Reform voters was ard low earners and probably on benefits? Even if they are then they're entitled to their vote aren't they?
Looks like it's the beginning of the fragmentation of Labour now with multiple challenges to Starmer's leadership on the way.

Or go to court and get a gagging order on anything they don't want anyone want to hear, like Starmer does frequently.

Not obsessed by him but for some reason millions are, read Sussex post, Farage now saying it was a reward for 27 years of brexit campaigning therefore it should have been disclosed, Farage is pressing the self destruct button.

It doesn't matter what the gift was given for, or how it was spent, if it was indeed a personal and unconditional gift which Farage is claiming to be the case. Let's see what the investigation outcome is, but he's innocent until and unless he's proven guilty.
Every party has thrown mud at Farage in the last couple of years but none has stuck so far.

Parties have but the MSM have tickled his belly, Farage is fortunate that the Labour parties problems along with Trumps visit to China has overshadowed Farage affairs.

If Labour were in even a tiny bit competent at this government lark Farage would be an irrelevance. So it's not so much Farage as being fortunate as it is the "Big 2" political parties being utterly Fecking useless. Astoundingly, having been elected with a huge majority Labour have fallen more out of favour in 2 years than the Tory's did in 14 years under multiple inept leaders!!
The failings of the country and of this government are all on Labour not Farage, the country told us that a week ago. Mind if you're stone deaf and blind you'll have missed it.

The MSM have to be very careful in making allegations or accusations, they'll go after stuff that's solid so as not to get sued out of existence. That may be why Farage is not in the news for dodgy dealings as much as confirmed Tax Avoiders, thugs, Rogue Landlords, at the heart of government??

true. its not as if this country has never had right wing political parties before standing for election and i do not mean the national front type. they usually lose their deposits. that was in the days of the tories being right of centre and labour to the left where you actually saw and heard the difference. the pity now is that the tories seem to have found a decent leader but those who came before her will hold her back.

The U.K. has been going down the pan since Thatcher destroyed the Industrial/Engineering base, (ok the unions were becoming too powerful and needed to be pulled into line)sold the utilities companies and North Sea assets off trying to make the U.K. a Service Industry. Blair followed on by sending every body to uni to come out with in general worthless degrees with no jobs at the end of it. Successive governments have failed albeit not helped by the 2008 crash, Covid, Brexit effect, Ukraine conflict and now the Iran conflict. We have a skill shortage in the basic trades, joiners, electricians, plumbers, brickies, plasterers with companies not prepared to bear the cost of training apprentices to the extent they were ‘importing’ them from overseas.
Whats the answer to solving the UKs problems, anyone have any suggestions ?

Correct Jamie, but since Thatcher neither the Tory’s or Labour did anything to help our industrial base and sat and watched it rot.
The Lib Dem’s are orbiting another planet and the Greens are away with the fairies.

Latest scheme is no tax on overtime to be paid for by cuts in welfare, they never mention what welfare benefits they are going to cut. It depends how overtime is used for, shortage of Labour, many times to supplement wages others when a project is a fast track project. in my many times at Heerema most projects were fast track, standard working week was 45 hours with Saturday and Sundays ‘optional’ . I was on a project on the Tyne, night shift, 6 x 12 hour shifts, I dropped a couple of Sundays and was promptly put back on day shift, so overtime to me wasn’t optional on that project but compulsory.

It’s because the Labour Party don’t really have an identity anymore and even worse no direction . It’s just about taxing middle Britain . I didn’t vote for the first time in my life last time . Think Reform will get in next time in coalition with the Tories . Just hope they don’t privatise the NHS .

reform and the tories along side rupert lowe,s restore britain need to really get together and only one of the three should be standing in all constituancies. if not the right wing vote will be split and we,ll have 5 more years of the two tier party. this happens every time sadick khan comes up for re election.

I don’t think any of the parties have any idea how to run the economy, straight from uni into politics never done a days graft in their life. Wealth tax is discussed loads of time, this vlog tells you about the increase in billionaires, how they avoid tax and the rise in the number of billionaires. It’s 40 minutes long but well worth a watch.

Does anyone need to watch a 40 minute vlog to appreciate that the rich are getting richer and the gap is getting wider? Or that the super rich a oid paying taxes whereas the plebs on PAYE locked into paying their full dues and often overcharged by the tax man?
Is their any vlogs to show us that the tide rises and falls daily, or the sun rises and sets daily, etc etc?

When you hear the tired Marxist trope "Tax the rich" we all know for certain it means tax the shite out of the middle earners and the small business job creators. The actual rich have many ways of avoiding tax. So taxing the rich means clobber and dishearten the hardworking majority while those on a benefit life style live off the fat of the land. What benefits might a Reform government remove? I can speculate that the benefits paid to those with multiple wives who dont work could be one target and another might be restoring te two child benefit cap. Both those measures would make life in the UK less of a paradise for those who despise us, our traditions and way of life. A few quid would be saved by stoppong the boats and the legal aid currently paid to the illegals and all their other benefits prior to deporting them. In other words if we had a goverment with balls, a lot of wasted tax payer money could be avoided.

Your not wrong in what your saying in that middle England which is most of us take the hit every time . And before anybody says anything as a small landlord I’m paying tax in the UK. From as long as I can remember the rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer . The rich can afford top accountants to hide their money and some of the poor play the system to receive benefits because working is not worth it . Many of the young are working online and not paying taxes so it’s middle england, small businesses, pensioners and lower middle class who are taking the hit and always take the hit. Labours net zero is absolute nuts and bringing in reforms for tenants punishes good landlords . 200 thousand landlords have sold up because which means there is not going to be enough housing for the poor. Meanwhile immigration is totally out of hand . I’m not against some immigration nurses, doctors etc but we must look after our own first. I’ve never noted for a right wing party ever but this vs lot who are in power are useless. Unfortunately the Tories prior to the Labour government where poor too. We should have a progressive tax system with personal allowances based on how much you earn. It will never happen because the powers to be want middle england to pay ……..

Unfortunately the state of economies not just in the UK are evaporating into a corporate-owned future where the working and middle classes are permanently priced out of ownership and governments struggle with ever increasing debt

Ok your the expert economist and don’t need advice, the vlog is in layman’s terms and easy to follow and understand, plenty of others are unaware of the situation, the current millionaires/billionaires worth is 25% of the U.K. GDP, this has increased from 5% in the last 20 years.

Reform want overtime to be tax free.

But not many firms operate that system anymore.

Energy bills forecast to rise 13% then an Xtra £75 to pay for the users who refuse to pay.

What a fucked up government we have.

Jamie don't reply Pal

Agree with most of what your are saying say more taxing the rich which means taxing middle class earners, in work benefits need to curtailed, are employers not paying people a living wage. Billionaires know how to work the tax system, wealth tax has been attempted in many countries but hasn’t worked.
Jeff Bezos Amazon pays himself what is classed as an office workers salary in the States around $80000.
Base Pay: Amazon's SEC filings confirm that his base cash compensation remains just over \(\$81,000\). Bezos has stated he kept his pay this low because he already owned a significant portion of the company and didn't need further financial incentives to build long-term value.Perks and Benefits: While his base pay is low, the company does cover additional expenses for his security and personal travel. SEC filings show Amazon allocating roughly \(\$1.6\) million annually for these protections.Stock Compensation: He has never received stock-based compensation from Amazon in addition to his low base salary. His billionaire status is entirely due to the shares he accumulated as the company's founder.

Don’t reply, what happened to freedom speech, I have to reply to put my side of the argument. As usual so ill informed KPG, I think you were singing Reforms policy of no tax before £20000 but has since been deemed unfundable. The overtime one is the same, Reform say they will cut benefits to pay for it, what benefits, they darn’t as it would a vote loser. Reform are running out of ideas now, first it was immigration which has now been reduced dramatically so they can’t bleat on about that anymore.
Just to remind yourgovernments have very say over energy markets as they are controlled by world markets. If you are looking for some one to blame look no further than your mate Trump with his world economic wrecking war against Iran but at the same standing by and watching Ukraine getting bombed the hell out of every day.

Reform are obviously the big bad wolf for Jamie.
Meanwhile in the present, our Labour government are now being slated by none other than the founding father of New Labour who has said that the present lot have no coherent plan for the country. Net zero should be scrapped, this government are doing nothing to curb illegal immigration, and they're harming and dissincentivising business and therefore curbing economic growth. Blairs words not mine.
Open your eyes to what's happening in the UK today and has been happening for the last 2 years, rather than deflecting criticism to a party of 6 or 7 MPs.
This Labour government are destroying the country.

if the laws were changed to stop all the tax avoidance loopholes the extra super rich would then be paying there fair share. with the extra pot we need to look at the way its spent. more spent on deportations and less on comfort for illegals. get out of the ehr quickly. ban net zero. attempt to sort out our shopping areas and find excuses to shut the vape, barbers and any other new age shop thats sprung up. union flags on all public buildings and a criminal offence to fly flags of any other nation no matter who. people then might start to feel a bit happier with there lot even if some of the crazy new lefties and the unwanted immegrants do not.

Hands up if you watched Jamie's vlog and hands up again if it taught you anything.
In the last 20 years of the rich getting richer we've had 9 years of Tory government, 5 years coalition, and 6 years of Labour, and Labour have been as big an influence on the trend as any of the others. They're all out to make as much as they can for THEMSELVES at the expense of the mugs who elected them.

Definitely the big bad wolf, they bring one policy out after another out with no idea how they are going to fund it except by cutting benefits and yet have to announce what benefits they will cut. They are a bunch millionaires pretending they are the party of the people,
A newly-elected Reform Kirklees councillor has admitted that she doesn’t know what she is voting for and is unsure about standing orders. Don’t you think she should have been looking into the functions of a councillor before standing, are these the calibre of people who might one day be standing as an MP ?

As I said PTID you might be an economist but I not everyone is upto date with today’s economics, you forget Labour have only been in power for less than 2 years, yes they made some massive errors but at every opportunity the right wing MSM slag them off.

The MSM slag off every government and none moreso than Truss and Boris.
When Tony Blair is slating government in a 50 odd page rant it tells a story of the last 2 years, which btw equates to 40% of their time in office because they'll not survive any more than 5 years. How long before we actually see some of the promises made pre election, let alone living up to their manifesto?
