Any idea what our councillors are doing down the road in the marina near the bingo …closed for seven weeks.

Fracking?, Pole dancing club?, Disney North East?, Skating Rink?, Casino?, Giant suntan and nail Emporium?, putting some potholes in the road?

like the country in general. got to remember like mp,s they live in a different world to us or they are lying about stuff.

Just had our local Councillor scuttling around pushing their propaganda through the letter box but never knocking on the door…..first time we’ve seen her in three years.

would you knock at the door to get abused at the best. think those days are over and even the god botherers just leaflet you nowadays.

Many years ago, when the council were pushing for waste bins to be taken to a collection point instead of being placed at the foot of your property, I had a long running battle with them. Not over the actual policy but the way they were trying to introduce it.
To cut a long story short I, and my local councilor, were lied to by council officials all the way up to the top man.
A person, who may or may not left our town in a fabulous state, came to our house to look at the area to see what the problem was and to try to explain what was happening.
Basically, that person told me two barefaced lies and came up with two "new" reasons to explain why they couldn't collect my bin from the bottom of my drive, failing to explain why, if they were so important, they hadn't been mentioned in the previous four months.
To make matters worse, when they introduced the recycling wheelie bins, they did exactly the same thing despite reassurances that the bins would be collected from my drive.
I've never trusted the council since. (probably a mug for believing them in the first place)

Funny, but two other candidates did…..what concerns me is this one appears once every three years…plus whatever clown redrew the ward boundaries has lumped us into a strange redrawing of boundary maps based more on political advantage than geography.

never thought i,d ever be doing this but i,m going to stick up for some councillors but the ones i have come into contact with down my way on the phone have all been helpful even ones not representing my area. both tory and labour ones. like everyone in any job you get the workers and the shirkers and with the council some who just get glory on being on it.
