A better way of paying on the gate would be welcome, the present system for the occasional fans is off putting…we must be losing funds they would one time have gained under this present system.

The security checks and database shit is a slow process nightmare.

The ticket office and booths operate at snails pace. Their needs to be a slicker way for casual or one off supporters to buy tickets too. Equally important is ensuring there's enough Fecking turnstiles open.

Slightly off topic, but it’s about technology, at Bangkok Airport you go to a computer terminal insert your details then it prints out your luggage labels, you then take them to the baggage conveyor, you still have to queue, more scanning etc. then you put your baggage on the conveyor.it might save on labour but it takes longer. Lots of older people very confused becoming angry and frustrated.

Jet2 have this at Leeds Bradford Airport and it doesn't go as smoothly as you would expect. We had to ask the rep to get it to scan the passport properly. Frustrating

The ticket office and booths are ridiculously slow though, what I don't understand is that if you go to the booth on the MH side you ask for your ticket, they print it and you pay by card. In the main office you ask for your ticket, then have to give your address and provide proof for concession price, then they print it and you pay. Why do they need your address before they'll give you a ticket at one but not the other, but why do they need your address anyway. I can go to almost every other form of entertainment, including away games without providing my address before they'll let me in. (I suppose tbf I've always got my ankle tag on lol).

Overuse of technology to blame!
Keep things simple.

I think a fair few years back, a new computer system was introduced at Heathrow by B.A. for check in etc.
It failed and the whole airport came to a stand still!

Supporters will benefit from a simpler purchasing journey and improved functionality across multiple devices, while the Club will gain greater insight into supporter engagement to support more relevant and effective communication.

From the piece telling me how good the new system will be. I hate the constant use of the same cliches of which on a journey and engagement are the ones that annoy me the most. Since Langdon there are rarely a communication without the overuse of them.

Will this mean a booking fee, or higher one, seems likely. When ticket touts were replaced in concert tickets and theatre tickets by booking fees this seems to be on the cards.

I couldn't possibly agree more. It's got ChatGPT bullshit bollocks written all over it and it drives me up the blinking wall.

I hope the new system works well, but in my experience once it's implemented it will be a disappointment and the fellas in tight chinos and light blue shirts who sold it to the club will charge a fortune to provide back up and support for a few years until it's time for a new "purchasing journey".

To be honest it's just a ticket to watch a footy game. It happens all over the world all the time. Just keep it as inexpensive, simple and accessible as possible.

WTF is ‘greater engagement’….?
If you pay on the gate, you want to turn up, pay promptly , end of story.
The floating fans who swell the numbers when the good times or special matches occur and boost the clubs income, don’t want a wall of technology stopping them and it will become off putting .Smart arse technology isn’t for everybody and can act as a barrier to watching a match if you have to jump through hoops to perform what was once a simple function.
One man’s technology brilliance is another mans’ pain in the arse.

You don’t really need any ticket. Just pay on the gate, click the turnstile, job done.

It’s a football match, you should be able to easily turn up on a whim.

the reason i rarely go to non pools games anymore for that and what snowy said in his last post. more boxes to tick than amazon have for deliveries. i can see it now, no paper tickets and everything on line and the phone with an extra queue for those like me who have not and do not need a smart phone or a bloody app. the words like todays football fan leave me with dread. ok you can understand why the club does not want to take cash on the gate in todays world. a new ticketing system will not increase gates by 1 but it might put some off attending. hope the club realise this or are they prepare for some fan wastage in the bright new era.

Designed with supporters in mind, the new system provides greater control and convenience, allowing you to:

Manage tickets in one place
View your purchase history
Connect with friends and family
Share tickets securely and digitally
Supporters are encouraged to use digital Season Tickets, with physical cards available for an additional charge where required.

why should fans have to pay extra for physical cards especially for those like me who have no choice. same when you book tickets you have an extra surcharge to pay for a bit of paper. i cannot be the only one of the older end who gets wound up by this. thing is its not pools but guess every club who get a decent gate. cash and paper tickets are king not a bloody nuisance to the club.

Seems like more obstacles getting put in the casual/ last minute fans ability to watch a match…and if successful those numbers matter.
Seems more interested in embracing new technology as opposed to something that gets bodies through the. ‘turnstiles’

ever wondered what would actually happen at a match if all the technology went down. Would they shut up shop like a shop does when the tills stop working. just tail wagging dogs again and sod you jack as long as everything electrical works.

What really annoys me is music and other venues when you have to pay a ticketing fee to print off your tickets at home. They should be offering a discount for those who print off at home. I've paid for the technology.
