Now that we know that the consultancy firm has advised to look for a new manager . I think most on here concur !!! They must retain the defence which is one of the few areas of the squad which has been successful mostly. We can then rebuild from there . It would be a big mistake to let these players go providing of course they want to stay . Thoughts guys ……..,

Everything can be improved if only with tweaks in some departments, such as the defence, but again it depends who we get as the new manager and how they see things.

Mind you, ‘Bromby and Partners’ does sound rather like characters in some sombre Dickensian novel every time I hear it said…I wonder if they dress accordingly

all it means is they need to appoint a first team manager ASAP and let them make all the decisions. forget the odd blip our defence is as good as any in this division but its the attacking aspect thats made the difference by us falling a few league positions short.

The keeper Hayes is a liability. He spills soft shots, doesn't command his area even though he's big enough to, and the number of times he's been rooted to the spot for long-range shots that are on target is shocking. They should be meat and drink to a competent keeper who is switched on all game - like Cartwright was.

My son's started referring to him as "Moon boots" because of the rooted to the spot thing. And it goes for all aspects of his goalkeeping. Another recruitment masterstroke. Also makes me wonder what the point is of having a GK coach, when both of our keepers are poor and one of them is the coach.

Surely it's an angles issue if your rooted to the spot often when conceding, your obviously not narrowing the angle down enough, the sign of poor coaching, a lazy keeper or one who's too slow to get down.(Basically everything they should be practicing in training).

I'm not sure that a div 5 club needs a dedicated goalkeeping coach, surely we could do a deal to send out keepers to train with Boro or Sunderland a couple of times a week for coaching?

From what could make out on Saturday he was too deep.

have keepers in general improved since the invention of goalkeeping coaches. i think not.
