Dead rubber game.

Won't win.
But fancy a shock goal

Match cancelled, 3 points forfeited to FG as Pools unable to field a team. Most of the players just can't face a kick about with the uncertainty of their future employment unknown. Danny O'Connor sorting through 23 sick notes for anxiety.

I think the last 3 games will all be draws

FGR 1-1 (They'll be managing their squad for the playoffs)
SARFend 0-0 (we seem to draw with them regularly, plus they'll be managing their squad for play offs and FAT final)
Boston 2-2 (The final game seems to be regularly drawn, regardless of who we play)

65 points and probably 10th Spot finish. We'll all be whelmed and thankful it's all over!

On past form, we will go out to defend and snatch a goal to seal the glorious victory…in theory.

In reality it rarely happens, all we’ve done is mastered the art of it blowing up in our faces.
No team ever achieved anything with these tactics….,just frustration.
Not worth even bothering about, I’m just waiting for ‘Liberation Day’ when the false prophets are all kicked out of the Temple of entertaining football and normality finally returns.

Might as well see the team go gung-ho, nowt to lose and with NF seeing out the 3 matches, he has nothing to lose either!

Draw with Forest Green.
Beat Southend
Draw with Boston.

5 points and 67 points.
Or am I dreaming!!!

Couldn’t they transport the remains up….sort of symbolic like.
When you only have one fan you have to maximise their usage. ;)

Should be a sign up in the Rink End catering outlet saying 'We're only serving burgers and Bovril today because our fans can only get vegan stuff down at your place."

FGR were well and truly conned by a Pools side that scored from a corner and got a mid fielder up into the final third in support of Reid. First time this season?

Dropping a bagful of points to bottom teams has ruined our chances of a playoff miracle.

Seriously? I was at the game and a good time was had by all except the 75 FGR fans. The Bovril can't have agreed with them.

The North West Corner was in good voice all game, specially after Campbell's rocket burst the net ;) That got a chorus of "We scored a goal, we scored a goal..."

What wasn't to like? Sunny afternoon (till it clouded over), 2 good goals and Robbie Savage going his ends because his team couldn't get going.

Apparently only 3 of our players have got contracts for next season and Bromby & Partners, who've only been in the building 5 minutes, will be deciding who stays and who goes.

McNally, who was MoM, isn't one of them. Hope he caught their eye!

We're the 5th lowest scoring team in this tinpot division. We set up to frustrate the opposition at home regardless of how good or bad the opposition is. It was boring to watch and that was the opinion of the commentators on DAZN.

So there!

FGR were poor and it had the feeling of a practice match at times. Their only shot of note was the consolation goal. More fool them - Southend have gone above them now and they've got the toughest play-off route to look forward to.

But a good time was had by all.
Not by the folk I know who were at the match, they all agreed both sides were poor and the match was drab.

listened to tees after the game and not for the first time i felt i had seen a different game. i,ll take our two goals and the 3 points from it but the rest was dire. felt sorry for the ref at the toss up for ends when the winner wanted to play towards the mill house first half. whoever is in charge for next season i hope there idea of football is not across the pitch but up and down it.

It was Tees commentary on DAZN wasn't it? I thought they were on the money with most of their comments during the game, not enough people getting forward to support Reid, no energy, boring boring 2nd half.
But Mr Hogans tells us we're and the commentary team are all wrong because everyone (I gather he must have asked them all) had a great time?

cannot comment of the tees commentary live but from the studio at the end of the game they tried to make out it was a great victory with a game of football positives bingo on top. it was a great game if all you were interested in was a pools win no matter how it was achieved. yet again the man of the match was given to a defender which tells you all you need to know.

Here's the thing- you go to the game, you get some crack with the people around you and sometimes a good laugh - like I said, the NWC singing "We scored a goal" after our first went in was quality.

You also feel what the mood of the Vic is. On Saturday I heard next to no barracking of Pools' players - Campbell had a free pass after scoring. Very few people left before the end. The team got a good round of applause after the final whistle. It was a routine win in the sunshine.

If that wasn't your impression squinting at a little screen with no fucker to talk to, tough shit. As Kev always says, this board is all about opinions. Going to a game is all about the experience. :)

And the recent experiences at the Vic, dull football and no atmosphere were exactly the reason I gave it a swerve for the first time in decades. All about opinions as you say.

I think you miss the point Hogan which is why 95% of the Bunker can’t agree with your low expectations . I enjoyed the game mostly in front of my iPad . I don’t need to be at the game to give my opinions . I’ve seen every game this year. Yes when we win I’m happy like you , like everyone. But you can’t get a team promoted with 9 men behind the ball and a loan striker running around like a lost soul . Ok in a one of cup match Arsenal v pools in a third round cup draw. It’s expected against far better players. Are the top 7 playing like us. Did we play like this with Challinor . Nobody I mean nobody plays football like this in 95% of there games. Now go back to your jigsaw exhibitions.

used to think that the downside of watching a live stream was the lack of atmosphere that spoiled it. lets say that this season there has been no difference and even the smart comments have got less. at least you once had a laugh at the vic no matter how the side was doing. football in a library. more like a graveyard at 2am.

You might be right that 95% of regular posters on the Bunker agree with your higher expectations - that's what, a couple of dozen of people at most? The 3,000-odd still regularly going to home games obvioulsy get more out of the experience than iPad viewers like you, otherwise they wouldn't still be turning up.

The home crowd at the Vic doesn't behave a lot differently from what it did 20, 30, 40 years ago. If the team is playing shite and losing the game they get absolute pelters - even that's a more cathartic experience than sitting watching a game on your tod. When the team wins, it gets some appreciation. After all these years winning is still more important to most of us than marks out of 10 for stylistic interpretation - though we'd all prefer both and remember the seasons we had both with the greatest affection.
