Southend don't have two games in hand on us (today's Mail article) they only have one game in hand.

To be fair he might have had a few things on his mind - he's been made redundant by the Mail after a 'company reorganisation'. Working his notice.

Even on your notice, standards should not slip, if there were any standards in the first place in this example.

A surgeon on notice would not be expected to perform badly, nor would many other professions.

Depends on the terms or nature of the notice….depends on how you’ve been treated.

"Pools came from two goals down to beat relegation-threatened Morecambe"

The terms of the notice must have been very severe indeed!

I think Viz might have a role for him.. Billy the fish must be a manger now, or even part owner of Fulchester United.. Get your CV in Robbie.

Pools need a new media man. Robbie's always ok when doing commentary and knows the media set up. Give him a year to see what he can do and if he can live up to the standard set by Simmo.Or get Simmo back from Spennymoor.

As Snowy mentioned, we don't know the terms of young Stelling's notice or how those who are responsible for the current pale imitation of the Hartlepool Mail is treating him. Also don't forget that Stelling is a big Pools fan and will be as pissed off as most of us given the dreadful form, continuing silence and therefore uncertainty surrounding the club. Given that LS went out of his way to bring Sir Jeff back into the fold, as Splod suggested it would not come as a surprise if Stelling Jr was offered a media role at the club.

Finally, would it be too much to expect LS to make a final appearance of the season at the Vic this weekend in an attempt to boost ST sales - even if there is nothing to announce just yet?

He might be dodgy on some details but there's no arguing with this summary of Pools' season from Stelling Junior:

The axe is about to fall.

lets hope that the axe is sharp or we have a few spares hanging about and all the blame is not put on one man and is used as a scapegoat.

I feel that a heavy duty chain saw rather than an axe may be required in order to do what must be done. I agree that one man should not be made a scapegoat - but one man is very much part of the problem and therefore must be part of the cull.
