London paying less than some rural areas in Durham and Northumberland is the biggest piss take though? Even riverside properties in Durham City paying more than the villages. Keeps the plebs in their place I suppose.

Same here - rural Northumberland - we get a weekly bin wagon - have no street lights - village has no bus service (2 mile walk to the next village for the three times daily Jedburgh to Newcastle bus) - suffer from unreliable power and water supplies (both are getting worse by the year) - but we get to see mile upon mile of unused cycle paths in urban areas and I guess you've seen the 'leisure track' between Hexham and Corbridge? And they award themselves rises whilst dicking us for another 6%.

The only folk prospering around here (other than the council staff) are the gangs from the Far East and Eastern Europe who grow cannabis in abandoned farm buildings and have made places like Rothbury into the drugs capital of North Northumberland.

End of rant - I need to go and fill in the pot hole outside our house.....

somebody has to subsidise there pie in the sky plans and the lazy buggers who do not work but get the best council treatment available.

I've just received my six monthly water bill and it's gone up by over 18% on this time last year, is that me having to pay for the incompetent running of the water companies and their greedy shareholders... again.

Blaming the Iran war is a joke, yes it's had a detrimental effect but Labour and Rachel's 2vbudgets had fecked the country over big style anyway.

once it started over there my first thought was that prices would rise for every item sold. you do not need to give em an excuse to raise the costs of anything. people have just got to a situation where they expect rises in everything and are willing to pay them if they can.

Now based on how many units of water used.
So substantially higher.
Then a daily standing charge which will sky rocket every 6 months.
