Was in North Northumberland yesterday - driving along listening to Rachel Thieves explaining that we don't have a petrol crisis and that the petrol retailers are screwing the drivers.
Lovely day - wind turbines on most hill tops - few moving.
Stop in Wooler - no petrol, only diesel.
Go to Alnwick - only super unleaded, no diesel.
End up in Amble - queue at Morrisons - three out of eighteen pumps working - only super unleaded.
Fill up with fuel.
Pop into Morrisons to top up on 4 for 3 beer offers - I'm feeling the need for beer with each mile.
Continue South - at Widdrington the wind turbines are actually rotating.
Switch on the radio to hear about how Starmer may be U turning on immigration (to appease Rayner), how Starmer is going to let the EU fish around the Chagos islands, more cash for Macron to turn a blind eye on the beaches, and how 46% of the adult population of Blackpool are on benefits.
Get to Morpeth. Queues at the petrol station.
This country is screwed. Anyone want to go and make friends in Thailand?

I'd go abroad if we didn't have kids and grandkids close by, it wouldn't be Thailand though probably somewhere like Malta or Cyprus for me.
So, stay and make the best of it for me.

i,d guess there is not any country in the world that does not have its own problems that might be the same or different to ours. its a big gamble to make even if you have spent time on holiday in that country. holidays and reality of living somewhere else are miles apart as i know very well.

Can't disagree with any of that - but I struggle to think of a country which is undergoing such cultural/ religious/ organisational change (largely driven by minority special interest groups - against a resident population which has lost much of its sense of responsibility and direction), saddled with an increasing level of debt and without any basic/ core/ strategic industries. So, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm an old fart (who can't rely on the NHS which I've contributed to for five decades) and, as PTID says, grandkids, I'd give somewhere like Australia or Canada a try.

During the initial Ukraine conflict oil reached nearly $140 a barrel, I don’t remember an outcry or topics on The Bunker about fuel profiteering or shouts out for cuts in fuel duty oh forgot the Tories were in power.

Is that what Starmer told you to say….reasoning and common sense can always be ruled out of anything you say involving politics.

So the Tories were in and you didn't start any topics spouting anti Tory propaganda. Care to tell us why, unless of course your programming at that time only consisted of anti Brexit propaganda and Farage/Reform wasn't part of your programme.

You have a short memory Derwent, one thing for sure I did not post anything supporting the Tories, remember when they were in power you were lefty. On Brexit I will ask you like I have many times on the board, what have the benefits of Brexit been, no one ever answers that question.

It’s fact Snowy, you have a distinct hatred of Starmer but never say what the alternative is, of course like many on here they say anybody but him..

I could never ‘hate’ a political feckwit like Starmer…..despise more likely, for a serial incompetent like your poster boy.

Have you ever been to Thailand, it’s twice the size of the U.K., plenty of choices where to live. Malta I doubt you could afford the housing, one of my biggest mistakes was not buying property when I lived there. It was cheap as chips at one time but not anymore, traffic is horrendous, too many cars for a small island and it has problems with pollution because of that.

No I've not been to Thailand, nor do I have any desire to even visit let alone live there.
As for if I could afford a property there, You don't have a scooby as to what I can or can't afford.

I never mentioned about you affording a property in Thailand or any where, it was Malta and it wasn’t whether you could afford to buy property there, it was my opinion on property prices in Malta having lived there and how much they had gone up. I viewed several places there years ago but bottled it, I returned a couple years ago and property prices had quadrupled.

You are not bothered but continuously crying that you are being picked on, victimised and kicked in.

I’ll bring the curtain down on the pantomime, I was instructed by Keir to post comments on The Bunker in support of the Labour Party prior to the May elections. Yes BHLF got it it right, I live in Belk Street not Thailand.
