I repeat Where is Nicky Featherstone? No sign of him since the Halifax game, no interviews or any thing in the mail. Is he still at the club? Also a bit strange about the signing or supposed signing of the guy from Chester. What is happening at our club and why are we not being kept informed as we were told we would be?

I suspect that something is going on behind the scenes with a temporary cloak of secrecy being thrown over the club in the interim. Could be that Landon has decided to take charge/action rather earlier than he anticipated following the very poor performances last week in an attempt to prevent the season from petering out.

We already know that Landon is a man of his word therefore we should expect an announcement over the next few days.

HOW do you know that he isn't a man of his word - do you have some information to the contrary?

The season is now officially over.
Great that the takeover happened when it did.
Gives Smithy time to see how shit the club is run.
Just respect his patience statement he asked for.
We Gunna be ok.

Yet again teams above us dropping points tonight, which makes it even more frustrating that we haven't been able to take advantage of that.

36 points still to play for. I agree that it's unlikely that we will be able to squeeze into the play-offs but the alternative is to down tools, lose most of the remaining games and slide into mid-table with attendances dropping off drastically accordingly.

Whatever happened to the 'Never Say Die' philosophy that our club was famous for even when we were staring re-election or relegation in the face - did this not transfer to Landon's regime?

It's a well known fact that finishing the season on a high note often generates momentum and belief amongst the players and fans that is carried forward to the next campaign. We don't know a lot about Landon's pysche but from the statements he has made to date he certainly doesn't come across as a quitter- that is not the American way.

Whether Feaths remains in charge or is replaced on a temporary or permanent basis I would like to see us play out the remaining games in a positive manner, attack the opposition regardless of their position or reputation, cut out the 'crab football' leave a couple of players on the half way line when defending corners and have someone on the back post. Above all get the players to shoot early not fanny about trying to score a perfect goal. There is absolutely nothing to lose but much to gain in the remaining fixtures.

Seems it's amateur sleuthing hour...

Let's look at the facts. Gary Liddle did the post-match interview. My guess is that's because Feaths got a red card right after the game and the last thing he needed was chatting to the press straight afterwards.
If we'd had a game tonight he/somebody would have done pre-match interviews yesterday - but we didn't.
We don't play again till Saturday, so the next round of interviews - as per usual - will be on Thursday.
Unless we sign somebody in the meantime, which might happen, but there's no guarantee that this Pat Jones fella is coming to Pools after all. All we know for sure is that Chester knocked back two bids from us.

So no news is no news. And no mystery either.
Probably.

Manager has a couple of days off…or…manager being held for interrogation in the dark chambers of the Vic’s secret area to explain our form on the pitch. :scared-eek:

What are we missing, any interview would have been rinse and repeat of each of his previous ones - didn't see that coming, work hard in training, plenty of games and points to play for, gutted, etc etc

if we,d had a game last night it would have been business as usual but without him on the bench because of his red card. fans need communication from the club but not on a daily basis if there is nothing to report.

I don't know anymore than you whether he is or isn't a man of his word, but do you have some information that he is, I hope he is, only time will tell but so far (and it is very early days yet) nothing has changed on or off the field other than Raj being gone.

it can do. some new owners come in like a whirlwind, change everything overnight no matter whats good or bad and then hear little from them. there must be something in it for him and it aint the money he will make. can understand fans being negative as i have said before if we did not know there was a change of ownership you think things were just the same. like managers and sometimes players we need to be patient and see how things pan out by august. surely nobody wants raj back in any circumstances.

It's only 30 points left for us to play for unfortunately.

I stand corrected fella, maths was never my forte but it doesn't change the message. As fans we should not be declaring the season over when it is still mathematically possible to secure a play-off place thus encouraging the players to effectively turn up in their flip flops during the remaining ten games - although some might suggest that several of them may as well have been wearing them for most of the season.

Strange how Mathematics at this time of the season automatically makes footballers into Winners.

Should Feaths fail to emerge from the shadows during the course of today in order to provide the pre-match press conference I would think that we can assume that it's over for him.

its only other teams that make the play offs a mathmatic possibility and not pools themselves. you would not mind so much if we won games and the others won also. you could say at least we gave it a go instead of throwing opportunities down the drain regularly.

We'll know by this afternoon. Still wondering what 'shadows' Feaths is supposed to be hiding in - it's not like there has ever been a day-to-day running commentary from a Pools manager (thank Christ).

Interestingly he's said that we don't have the players to play 2 up top, but he's done nothing to address that.
This week he says we're on our bones defensively so will be looking to try to get reinforcements in.
Surely that's confirmation that he has no intention of ever changing from the lone striker approach.

like all ways to play the game the loan striker approach is not a bad one as long as you have the player to play it. again its the players you have that should determine how the game is played and not a preferred system if you cannot bring in the players to play it. one good thing that has come out of this season is the failure by most fans not to knock reid for the manager who is trying his best to ruin him.

Agree, Reid is a way better player than he appears in our system and I think most fans realise that, he does get a fair bit of criticism on match days but it's mostly subdued.

The trouble with our ‘system’ or the ‘Featherstone Grand Strategy ….is that there isn’t one ….just a stubborn, inflexible persistence in bulldozing on.
Like two skeletons trying to have a baby having sex in an empty biscuit tin….plenty of noise but no end product.

If NF actually believes in his stratey, Then that begs the question?

Why did he not make it a priority to bring in an actual target man.
Unless his idea of a target man is Reid.
