Obviously after the Carlisle quality performance expectation levels will be high.

But I reckon we win but do it the hard way.
88th minute winner in a 2 1 victory.

3689.

they do seem to have a knack of scoring late on to secure points. we suffered there by it. cannot take a 10 minute time added on game if we are only one goal ahead. need to remember what came up after rochdale, bloody woking so lets hope after carlisle sutton do the same.

Pools to win 3-2 - Reld, Sinclair & Oliver to score a late winner.
They will have Topalaj, Pruti & Francis playing for then- with the latter 2 on the score sheet

Crowd 4040
45 from Sutton

Sutton managed 2-2 draw at Halifax on Saturday so they will be no push overs. If we win it will not be easy. Pools being Pools, any result is possible.

pruti did get there late equaliser at there place anyway. topalaj was steady and no more with us and francis went off the boil. if they both play like they did at the end of there pools careers it will be a big plus for us.

Reading the Halifax v Sutton match report, it seems Topper and Francis are forming a good partnership,a bit like Sinclair and John for us. Wouldn't it be so bloody typical if Francis were to score the winner? I bet he is extremely motivated to do just that.

Watched some of Halifax/Sutton on Dazn

Halifax got the ball down and played football, Looked surprisingly tired later on.
Sutton bit slapdash up and down the pitch, Francis had a brilliant game DEFENDING, Did little going forward from what i saw.

Shaun Hobson Halifax CB caught the eye.

As I said, I only read a report, so I dare say you will have a much better idea of Sutton than I have. Here's hoping. :)

I fear that tomorrow may well be a case of the old 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' syndrome that most of us have witnessed over the years. This coupled with Feaths admission that his team struggles to get motivated against lowly opposition - although Sutton are probably in a false position (sorry if I sound like Feaths).

I still think that we will take something out of the game though courtesy of a Daly late, late equaliser.

Please please please Nicky set the tone by setting us up to win every second ball. Winning second balls in all areas of the pitch breeds confidence . 4-4-3 worked well against Carlisle on both flanks but particularly on the left . Get the crosses in , get numbers in the box and shoot on sight anywhere near the box. Make their goaly work. It’s so important to have a philosophy of playing on the front front. I hate sideways and backwards passing although sometimes you need to do it. And to conclude we press them . Don’t let them press us. We have the players do it. By all means if we are 2 goals up
Shut up shop . Not going to predict the score . Just play good , expansive football and believe you can beat anyone which on our day we can. We are in charge of our own destiny so show the rest of this league what we are made up . Now I’ve done the team talk go out and express yourselves. Won’t be watching live as too late.

Ive lost count the amount of times this happens.
It's Deffo the hardest game of the next 3 just for history n scycological barrier reasons.
It's season over if we Fcuk up but for some reason expecting a win.

Expectations are a dodgy business with this team…well not the team, the managers tactics…….so I’ll expect nowt and hopefully be rewarded..

would not mind as much if the players went out overconfident in these type of games and then concede a goal for reality to kick in. far better than having no self motovation to get a result. they are getting paid to do there best unlike us when we played at some shit ground when we wished we were not there.

Gonna be great weather for a night match again. Can't wait.

Hope Pools have had a proper electrician round to check the wiring on the Vic's venerable floodlights. It's their 60th next year

The NL's two draw specialists could be expected to share the spoils but very few games involving Pools go according to plan so fingers crossed it's a 3-2 win before a 4200 crowd.

Fairly poor first half really. Should have scored through Sinclair.

Would take Campbell off for Caton. Just cannot see Campbell’s value in this team. Poor 45 for me.

There’s the goal for Sutton. He waited too long for the subs.

Pools have huffed and puffed and created a few openings but have lacked real cutting edge so far.

2 mins later, should be 2-0 Sutton.

We have Caton and Oliver on the bench plus the super sub. Wondering if it is indeed after the Lord Mayors Show.

Looked really very poor since the subs as well. Change of shape hasn’t really worked. Holohan looks every year of his age in this cameo.

Southend drawing 1-1 and it has all the hallmarks of yet another missed opportunity.

A phase of play where Okike scuffs his cross and Folarin then slide tackles the air just about summarises it.

‘Dear me….’ Groans Barron on the commentary. Yep. You nailed it Micky.

Its what Pools unfailingly do best. Average team but undisputed champions of building up hope and then smashing it down in crushing disappointment.

Yeah, seriously the whole thing has to change in the summer on the football side. Yet again an opportunity where if you win, you go into the play off spaces, gone. Back to back wins turns into another ‘didn’t see it coming’ moment.

Feaths has showed his managerial naivety yet again. Starts Campbell. We go 1-0 down. Post 60 mins…Corrects his mistake as Campbell continues ineffectual by hooking him but then moves to a new formation, we proceed to get pulled apart. Reverts system back and then makes a ton of subs to bring an ungodly amount of forwards on in desperation. Pools then look an absolute hot mess and create absolutely nothing in the process. No plan B. His Plan A is the system he starts with as he says ‘he doesn’t have the players to play the way he wants to’. Well he’s now got a stacked team and yet still it’s the good, followed by the absolute ugly. 2 shots on target in total at home.

Feaths mentioned that it was good Saturday’s game against Wealdstone was off as the Carlisle game had taken a lot of us physically and mentally. Quite clearly the boys weren’t quite as amped up as they needed to be, or maybe one good performance is all we can muster. It’s been a season of it though, bright spark moments, followed by depths of despair. We created a bit tonight in very small moments and you’d point towards Sinclair’s miss as a decisive moment. But even then, across the 90 minutes, we probably had 20 mins of pressure in a must win fixture. It became even bigger at half time with the news of the scoreline at Southend. I think that might be the fourth time this season where a win could’ve taken us into the places and we’ve blobbed it.

Really really disappointing after last week. I remained very quiet after the Carlisle game as wasn’t overly enthused with our performance at Solihull. Unsure the narrative about Liddle being a big influence on the goal scoring front has much to it. Good teams do go on good runs in the season, but we just aren’t capable of it.

Need a proper manager and some proper players in the summer. Feaths got it on a technicality in all reality and for me, he’s done enough to prove he’s just not experienced enough to take us to the next level. First on the release list for me - Folarin, Holohan, Oliver, Campbell, Sheron.

I like the sound of Smith’s patter but needs to show his bollocks at the end of the season.

Mass clear out needed

The drop off in crowds should tell Smithy that drastic action is needed.
The takeover needs to be for a positive reason not just somebody else paying the bills on time.

Fevs out ASAP.

Is anyone really surprised at this point. Landon not here, game we’re expecting to win, and this useless lot don’t turn up. Also, what does Campbell have over Featherstone that means he keeps playing, especially out in wide areas. He is absolutely terrible.

Takin Reid off when we need a goal was certainly a choice too. After Carlisle i genuinely thought we might have a shot at the playoffs but part of me thinks it wouldn’t be worth it just to potentially get tonked off York or Rochdale. Save them the embarrassment. Nevermind…

I’m far from a “fan” of Hunter, but I thought he had one of his better games for us against Carlisle. Fair enough drop him if you think we’re going to have more of the ball this week, switch him for an attacking player. But don’t switch him out when it’s Adam Campbell…

One of those games where the substitutions made things blatantly worse.
Sutton weren’t a bad team at all and offered more than a lacklustre Carlisle.
The formation change mid stream buggered everything up and Sutton fif their homework on Sinclair, they kept being given acres of space and God knows why, but after that substitutions we looked toothless…..One good perfance and two mediocre ones average is the road to nowhere and frustrating to boot, let’s get this sorted implement the change we need in charge of the team.

Amazingly we get yet another opportunity to go 7th on Saturday due to Southends late kick off at Carlisle.

A mega favour from Truro last nite.

Anyone know how we end this home sickness because its becoming pathetic now.

I think it boils down to recruitment.

And can this shit of overeating our players for 2 or 3 games come to an end.

Reality check and new era has to be in place for August.

Them absolute sitters Sinclair n Reid missed either side of half time are what flipped the game into Suttons favour.

true, but they looked more dangerous than we did before that even when there defence was a shambles and we had most of the play. even without the subs i thought the best thing we could have come away with was a draw. Yes they marked sinclair well but we have another side of the pitch to play on instead of just concentrating on him. is it a mental thing with these players and this must be the third time at least we failed to win when a victory could have claimed the 7th spot.

Missing sitters in key moments did swing the game, but you make your own luck in football and a good team, confident of going all the way this season would’ve turned up just like the Carlisle game and found a way to win. It was a very important game to tee up Saturday.

feel this is going to go on all season till we run out of games. hopes built up one week to come crashing down the next. we cannot use the tiredness from long distance travel excuse as we had a free saturday when they had a long journey to halifax followed by pools last night. it looked the other way round at times.

then when was the last time pools won 3 home games on the bounce without an away game between them. no chance of a victory on saturday either because i,m coming up for it.

NF actually made 2 changes, Campbell in for Hunter resulted in Miley being moved deep ( to accommodate Campbell) which is not Mileys (makes him look poor imo) best position.
Hunter will play Saturday against his former club, And will most likely see red.

NF stated weeks ago we did not have the players to play (his words) expansive football.
Brought in HIS players and guess what, Same formation, Same tactics, The only one he knows.

He must realise himself that for the future of the club, He will have to step aside.

Why did Sinclair not switch the ball to his left side before the defender caught up, Maybe on his second touch.
Probably thats why he is surplus to York, And Cam John should have affected the first goal another surplus to York.
We need/deserve BETTER next season.

Hate to say this but in one of his post match interviews, He says he has been discussing tactics with Ole Lenny.

Massive disappointment. The game was pretty even for an hour but the wheels came off after Sutton's first goal.

The substitutions didn't work at all - Pools' passing game fell apart and we never looked like getting back into it. Holohan was really poor.
