Last three games against Carlisle have all ended 3-1 to them. Seems about right that they should make it four.

1-3

Landon is in town - so I'm going for a 2-1 home win.

Reid & Sinclair to score for Pools, Armstrong with a late consolation for the sheep botherers.

Crowd 5785
800 Sheep botherers present
Only 37 Rink End seats destroyed by their knuckle draggers (maybe that's a bit optimistic)

The border dwellers maybe still haven’t mastered the puzzling intricacies of something they sit on….and have to destroy them because they believe they contain evil spirits that will bite them in the arse… :scared-eek: :scared-eek:

And a Thursday announcement that Fevs is sacked.
Contract honoured but paid up 2 months early.

Oddly enough, if Featherstone is not going to be manager next season, we’re getting to the stage where changes at the top…because waiting till the season’s end should have taugh5 us a lesion by now.
If you are serious about promotion, you start now, will we ever learn the lesson?

any point would be a bonus tonight if we can back it up with 6 points in our next two home games. a lot to ask after only winning one out of 4 games on the trot earlier this season.

Irrespective of the result Featherstone won’t be sacked, why, might as well keep him till the end of the season, less compo. As I said what sort of ambition do Pools have by bringing former players unproven managers onto the coaching staff, Liddle, where is Stevie ?

Yeah but it only holds about 650 since their lot smashed the seats up, bet no-one has ever been prosecuted for that particular episode and look at all the lost revenue it has cost us since, we should've been sueing Carlisle themselves for that misdemeanor because what's to stop it happening again tonight?

Very impressive performance so far.
Hopefully we not punished for not extending the lead to a higher margin. UTP

Thanks for the summary, Kev. Hope we haven't over done it in the first half and implode in the second half.

2-0 my only concern is the floodlight issue, Carlisle will probably try and get the game stopped/replayed.

Isnt that fooking typical. On the verge of the best result of the season, when the damn floodlights pack up. Game off replay weeks ahead and Carlisle win it.

It's in progress, floodlight failed just before halftime, ref was happy but sure they'll cling to it being an issue, if they don't credit to them.

Is it just a coincidence these improvements have happened when Lidds became first team coach?

Think it's more coincidental that Landon has been present.

Brilliant night at the Vic - best I can remember since the Rotherham cup semi-final. The sheep shaggers were lucky to only concede 3. They never had a sniff in the first half and we matched them in the second. Love to see them again in the play-offs ;)

I mentioned the potential influence of Lidds after the Solihull game. I think that since his arse appeared in the dugout it is no co incidence that we have scored seven goals. In fact the chances we have created in these two games, against higher than average teams, is extremely noticeable and very welcome. The two games in which Lidds has been involved has produced two performances that are un recognisable to those which Aldershot and Woking faced a short time ago. There is obvious improvement and I believe Lidds is playing a big part in that improvement.

Can't fault any of them tonight, 100% commitment from every one of them. Outstanding performances particularly from Parkes, Sinclair, Benn, and what a night for 17 year old Okike scoring with his first touch for Pools!
Just keep this high pressing, high energy style going, win as many as possible and see where we finish. Looking at Southend and the number of games, the teams they've got to play in the next few weeks and any things possible especially when they've still to come here too.

I'm sure Lidds is a great character to have around the place and is contributing plenty.

That said, let's not forget he was a defender by trade and didn't pull up any trees managing at Whitby - they finished 16th out of 22 last season in the Northern Prem.
Wanting to give him most of the credit for the fact that Pools are finally scoring goals in consecutive games is a bit over the top.

Does anyone know if that bloke from Sunderland Elliot Dickman has gone or is he still part of the coaching staff?

Fantastic performance, brilliant atmosphere and 3 vital points after last nights results went our way. Hopefully we act quick and get a back up centre half while Mcnally is out, as I think we would struggle if Parkes or Kougan got injured.

Wow, best game I have seen in the last 3 years. Been crying out for the team to play like that. Best performance of the season and goal of the season by Sinclair . That kid has talent . Could become a cult figure at Pools. Pools played with energy, passion , where first to every second ball , men in the box, led by a captains example in Parkes . It’s as if the whole squad has been reenergized since Liddell arrived. 11 shots , 6 on target , 8 corners . Played Carlisle of the park . Mom Sinclair , quite right George Best type performance . Finally scoring goals too. All the goals top quality and the kid to score after 20 seconds on the pitch. Breathtaking stuff.

Forest Green ain’t what they used to be according to that fans opinion and maybe the Vegan revolution has run it’s course and …..what starts as a hobby ends just as quickly…they remind me of Rushden.
Maybe the interest is petering out as they’ve gradually faded this season.

spot on. whats better is we have followed up one good performance with another which is something thats been missing for years. think we were shocked by the performance and attitude so carlisle must have been. broke the vic jinx of crap performances that will bring fans back quicker than a new owner will. big question though is can the team keep it up against the suttons of this league. teams most expect us to be winning against. might be a coincidence of improving after liddle came in but i never believe in them. being a failed manager does not mean he cannot coach as they are two different jobs.

if your calculator is correct it will mean pools would go into the play offs in top form and if they get through the first game they,ll be playing a side who might still be on a downer for missing out automatically away with the home crowd getting on there backs if things wirk out against them.
