We are usually poor after a long break between fixtures so a loss would be no surprise.

thats true, but then the injuries mount up quick with 3 games in a week. total perfection is needed but we need to remember they are also a good team with a chance of the play offs. the lads will be up for this one all getting back on the grass. will caton or reid start as both will not.

Hartlepool United manager Nicky Featherstone previews the visit to face Solihull Moors at Damson Park in the Enterprise National League.

Ahead of the clash against the Moors, who currently sit one league position below Pools, Featherstone told local press:
“Both Clubs are going into the game thinking it’s probably a must-win at this stage. A draw doesn’t really help anyone.

Pools get off to a cracking start courtesy of an early goal from Reid but are pegged back by half time 1-1 and overrun during the second half by Moors superior midfield. Final score 3-1 to the home side.

BTW did anyone hear the gaffe from one of the Boro red spex presenters on Tees at tea time? I Don't know which is was but it was either the baldy one or the smarmy one. Either way, he advised listeners that they would be previewing Pools HOME game with Solihill Moors after 45 minutes of boring Boro talk talk.. Obviously Rob Law wasn't around to correct the error. Little wonder that many Pools - and I would guess Darlo fans too - give this lot a wide berth.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that Pools do receive excellent coverage from Tees and that the Boro have and always will receive better coverage than us. However I once heard their presenters state live on air that they discuss Boro so much because they want to but talk about Pools because they have to which was unnecessary and derogatory. If they are going to mention Pools in a preview they should at the very least check if they are at home or away!

We were getting the same coverage when we’re in Division I….we always did, nowt really changes.

Nah only played 14 minutes of injury time. Plenty of time to go.

3-4 Plenty of time to fook up.

Very strange game, but the fact is Pools were much the better side. We scored 4 cracking goals, Moors were gifted 2 soft penalties by the ref and gave away the most ridiculous own goal of the season.

Too late to put any pressure on Southend, but an entertaining win for a change.

Just my own opinion on the situation but to me it looks like this is an audition for Featherstone. Maybe they've said if you make the play offs we will consider extending your deal,if not we might look elsewhere. I heard through a friend that liddle is still doing the academy stuff so could possibly go back to that in the summer. The lack of permanent signings is possibly down to a new manager not wanting them come the summer, so for now its treading water and see what happens. Heard Smith is obliged to see out contracts til the seasons conclusion both on and off the field hence the lack of major changes. Could be a case of getting his feet under the table and having a few months to sort stuff out. Im expecting and hoping for big changes in the summer but we'll see.

Personally dont think Featherstone is the long term answer, probably a bit wet behind the ears as far as management goes. IF there is a good budget to use in summer maybe its wiser for a more experienced manager to spend it!

I think most people in the bunker are in agreement with you Ritchy. Have this manager in charge next season and it’s a bottom 10 finish . Want to see an established manager

I made the trip to Solihull today- as it's only an hour from Ketrin.

The officiating was dreadful- we kicked off both halves TWICE - the second half because the linesman on the far side from the dugouts was still running across the pitch!

We struggled to get out of our half in the first half hour.
Incredibly soft penalty to start with that hit our player on the arm Infront of his body- not sure it was possible to get out of way- given it was at point blank range . Then Holohan scored a worldy own goal and at that point felt like a very long afternoon was on the cards!

The heavens then opened and we improved - got our foot on the ball and scored 2 good goals, through Reid and Miley. Reid had a decent game and held the ball up well in the second half- thought he was unlucky to be taken off.
Charman replaced him and lasted all of about 10 minutes, before being stretchered off. After a delay of about 10 mins. Didn't look good- he appeared to challenge for a header and land awkwardly on his ankle- reckon he. ould be out for the rest of the season. McNally also went off injured early in the second half- he got kicked a couple of times in the first half and was hobbling, though had a good game, up until he came off, was ably replaced by Parkes.

A couple of mins after the long delay (for Charman) Sinclair scored an excellent goal after being set up by Caton.
Then deep into injury time Sinclair scored an excellent free kick that he won himself. He was my Man of the match and the difference between the two teams- looks a quality addition and is rapid. Hope we can sign him permanently in the summer.

4-2 up after being 2 down was surreal. Though in typical Pools style, managed to concede another penalty- again looked a bit soft as no one seemed to appeal and the ref again pointed to the spot (admittedly it was at the far end so was difficult to see from where we were) Last minute or so was horrible but we held on for what was a deserved win in the end.

For all the possession they had in the first half Solihull created very little- Yes we conceded 3 but 2 were soft looking penalties and the other a cracking own goal from Holohan!

There manager looked as sick as fuck and spent most of the game whining at the ref!

We looked half decent when we finally got going, and started to take the game to them.

Heard a strong rumour in the crowd that Landon is back in town on Monday and will be at the Carlisle game mid week. Be interesting to see what happens this week at HQ, now the dust has started to settle on the takeover!

Didn't hear the attendance - but couldn't have been more than 1200 there- with about 350 Poolies in attendance, singing in the rain!

Excellent result for the impressive travelling Blue Army.

Only this time next season the league table will look a lot better.

Their last penalty….one of my lads pointed out it was a consolation for their keeper still organising their defence when the kick was taken for the penalty for us…..to me that’s the keepers fault for messing about instead of watching what was really going on.
