Restore Britain being formed by Rupert Lowe, a bit of competition for Reform, similar views but then like Reform blaming immigration and Immigrants for all the U.K. problems.

This was always going to happen. These split off parties are always involved in little power quarrels. Look at that thing with Corbyn and what's her name, they couldn't even agree on who would be in charge and what they were going to be called!

TBH what he says is along the lines of Reform, could it split the vote between them and Reform ?

At present we are signed up to system that says we must give refuge to asylum seakers who are in danger in their homeland. There is hawever no way of knowing if they are murderers, rapists, jihadists, child molesters, drug dealers, etc and they are allowed to walk our streets unchecked. Clearly Starmer is happy to put the rights of immigrants, both legal and illegal, ahead of the welfare of the citizens of this country.
We need a British human rights act that clearly places the rights and welfare of our citizens ahead of any conceded to others!

Jimmy Saville got away with it for decades threatening to withdraw his financial support if anyone spoke about about him although John Lyndon did in a radio one broadcast but it was never aired until years later.

It used to be a prerequisite to get into Australia.

I don’t care who wins ( except the Green Loons ) because this shower are beyond a joke, lead by someone who’s like a tap dancer in a minefield.

i would guess there are a number of brits in bigger danger in their homeland because of their views than most dinghy divers who arrive here. all them involved in some way with the riots, those who supported them and people like alex bellfield getting 5 and a half years for hurty words where paedo,s get a get out of jail free card called a suspended sentance.

Mentioned this before, my lady friend Thai has just applied and been granted a U.K. 6 month Visitor Visa, tbh quite straightforward only needing to prove she had the funds to support herself and an address in England. There was a question about a reason to return to Thailand basically she said strong family ties, no proof of that required. If dingy divers could provide similar reasons they would be granted a visa and after 6 months just ‘disappear’ into thin air.

It’s been mentioned many times unis require foreign students to keep them afloat, there was a scam where a company exposed on a documentary they would apply for a student visa for you, the students would be granted one then disappear never attending one day at a uni.

Too many unis - Most of the kids would be better learning a trade instead of wasting their lives at Uni and ending up in massive debt!

The problem is not many companies are about like the old ICI, British Steel, British Coal, Shipyards etc who used to take apprentices on, the first 2 years from what I know now are spent at Tech College hoping at the end of it they will be taken on to complete their apprenticeship with a company,

That’s how you learn everything …on the job.
I spent five years travelling through to the Boro to college on day release…and looking back…. I can recall nothing of any interest that crosses my memory…but you had to pass your exams every year showing you understood the theory of what you were doing.
I passed them all, you had to or you were out on your arse…tends to encourage you.

The problem though is we don't have the large companies up here anymore.. Our manufacturing economy in the North East has been decimated and is now owned mainly by foreign cimpanies. They invested when UK companies where giving up.

I think it complicates the Right in politics. The Left has always been complicated with Labour, the SNP, the Greens and the Liberals.

It didn’t complicate things in 24, Labour got a landslide…the nationalist Party’s appeal to the shortbread and close harmony singing tendencies can only achieve anything in their ‘homelands’ …thus the numbers are irrelevant in comparison to the overall population.
The Greens policy’s won’t hold up to scrutiny…they have too much ideological ballast….combined with an alienation from reality.

Talking about the Green Party:

https://www.politicshome.com/news/artic ... y-election

I have mentioned this before, the Muslims can ensure they get what they what, even though they may be only 25% of the electorate in this case, they can swing results in their favour!

So much so that the Green Party are 2/5 to win the Seat, Reform 4/1, Labour 9/1

its a block vote where the vast majority will vote for the party there leaders tell em to vote for. the other 75% will either not vote or vote for different party,s. something we need to understand and use our votes.

There was a General Election the other week, 70 different took part, a minor political entity known as the Green Party (Thai: พรรคสีเขียว) exists in Thailand, led by Pongsak Chunam, which has participated in recent electoral discussions. While it exists, it is not a major, influential, or parliamentary party compared to larger, mainstream political parties in the country

As of February 2026, a major wave of legal action is underway in the United Kingdom, where over 170,000 current and former students are launching compensation claims against 36 universities. They argue they did not receive the full education,, in-person tuition, and access to facilities they paid for during the COVID-19 pandemic. Next one will be parents wanting compensation because the kids didn’t receive proper education during covid.
We are becoming as bad as the States with compo culture, no win no fee etc, great little earner for the lawyers.

On the other hand…..

These students paid for (or will pay for via huge student loans) something they never got.

They never got what they paid for!!!

Unis saved money by not providing things that in normal times they would have had to, available heated buildings for one but other stuff too.

If students got their education free or primarily free like decades ago, then it would be a case of “like it or lump it” - but now that’s not the case and something should have been done about this issue to negate legal action, but no, no reduction was forthcoming.

I’m not a fan of “compo culture” however in this case students have a point and I reckon you would take action if you were forced to repay a loan for a 5* holiday that turned out to be a 2* one.

hate to say it but i got to agree. even if something was free or cheap it should be the education that they were told it would be.

Education should be about free for professionals at uni not the made up degrees of today, why do the students have to go to the extent of taking Unis to court, surely the Unis must agree that the students lost a lot of time because of covid but they could give them some form of credit or be more lenient when it comes to results.
The next thing will parents be suing schools because of the lack of education during covid ?

Jamie......

why do the students have to go to the extent of taking Unis to court?

Maybe because the Unis themselves won't play ball and do the right thing. If anyone should be criticised it should be the Unis or government not the students. I think some court cases have been proved in favour of students already, so that has now opened the doors to loads more cases.

You can't be more lenient with results as that would devalue degrees in general and also especially this particular generation. I think this particular batch of students got looked down upon in any case because of when they went to uni, which wasn't their fault. Incidentally at Uni now they are having issues with the next generation of students, some of whom don't know how to behave very well as they spent their formative years partly locked down.

I am not a student btw, far from it.

leniant with results. does that not happen at schools nowadays. i,d bet now some of these students would struggle and fail the old 11 plus exam. looked at some old papers a year or so back and wonder how i still managed it. doubt i would have done if i was state educated as a kid.
