Apologies Harrogate I would rather watch paint dry, looking at the current score 1-0 Man City albeit an og.

Who’s playing Francis Lee…or did City play with one leg only hopping around the pitch…or a load of City Toddlers under 8’s team…?

Unusually, I turned on to Match of the Day and was underwhelmed with the between match chat…by nobodies to me and the lack of humorous banter…. It ain’t what it used to, but at least Mr Smug was gone.

suffered stevenage v huddersfield which was worse. thought the crowd noise was turned off until stevenage scored.

think thats dropped down to the players and the clubs as well. once players were rested when a cup game was coming up now its the opposite with squad numbers in the 50,s and 60,s being played.

Man City made 8 changes from the previous game but with quality in the squad it didn’t make much difference. The top clubs are more interested in the league so they can qualify for The Champions League money spinner rather than the FA Cup, it has lost it’s prestige with all the foreign players.

think it goes further than the clubs who have the chance of playing in those competitions. without looking i,d guess the home cup attendances were lower than a league game unless it was a lower league club hosting a prem club or a name championship one for those who regularly play round 4 fa cup games. only at pools and a few others you,d see big gates due to it being a rare novelty to play at that stage.

The best days were when Darlo and Pools made the 1st round proper every season. ;)

They both still would be in the Ist round hat if they were in the EFL but I would need massive odds to bet on that happening anytime soon.

easiest way for that to happen is both clubs moving inside the M25, getting lower gates than they get now but have money thrown at them like others in recent years. you do not need to go back too long to think bromley v crawley was an impossible efl fixture.
