Hopefully said in jest Jamie.
It does not matter where you put the asylum seekers, they blot the town and the nearby landscape.
They should be shipped back to where they came from!

No not really in jest why would I say that ? The majority are never going to be shipped back where they come from, if they were allowed or made to work even clearing the streets up etc they wouldn’t be hanging about.

I went to Dukeshouse wood in the summer of 2003. It was a really nice place.

"if they were allowed or made to work even clearing the streets up etc they wouldn’t be hanging about."

So are we giving these people nice cushy jobs in the beautiful English countryside or are they working for free? I find both options unacceptable.

The fact that we continue to take these people in at all is a complete joke. The expression "put on your own oxygen mask before helping those around you" springs to mind. The UK is quickly becoming the same toilet these people are fleeing.

Cushy jobs, I can’t imagine tidying up the country side in the U.K. being a cushy job with the U.K. weather.
Continue to take these people in, how do you stop them legally with the French turning a blind eye, I doubt even if it was possible to turn the boats back the French wouldn’t be welcoming them back with open arms.

Compared to the hell they're escaping from, I imagine the sometimes cold and rainy English countryside is heavenly. Even if it was possible? The fact that a small, first world island nation can't stop some dinghies is a national embarrassment. Don't let anyone try to convince you that it's not possible. Almost anything is possible. This should be a relatively easy undertaking. Unfortunately our government is both incompetent, and doesn't really have an interest in solving this issue.

The government want them here, plain and simple, otherwise as you say Darylmore, things would be in place to prevent them from landing on our shores!

jamie, how would you feel if a load of them landed in your village and began to change the look of the place?
You would not like it at all! Anyone who says otherwise wants certifying!

I know France isn't exactly the nicest place on earth but is it Hell?
These people arriving by dinghy are coming from a place 20 odd miles away not some distant war torn country thousands of miles away. They're quite entitled to apply for asylum here whilst in France (and many other countries). They're economic migrants coming here and taking the piss out the asylum system and our social systems.

It only takes wiping out one boatfull with a navy ship who accidentally didn't see them as it rams the F*****s to make them think twice about trying to get here.

I live in a city which is full of different cultures including Muslims who all live and work together in harmony, Thais are very tolerant, non confrontational in general and non judgmental, their attitude is live and let live. The biggest problem here is European and Eastern European tourists who insist on driving motor bikes when pi**ed and in most cases fortunately killing themselves and fight with everyone.

But you live in a very different culture where you are their ‘guest’ and in no position to comment.
You can’t possibly know the real beliefs of the native population who make a considerable amount of their national income from tourism.
We live on an island, which has this habit as on all islands of resenting changes to their culture and being awkward bastards as well.

And although Thailand may very well have a live and let live culture, aren't they very much more respectful of each other, their families, their hierarchy, rules and laws with the ultimate sanction of the death penalty than the UK?
Also tourism isn't so much a problem in either country, it's immigration and non-integration of those migrants which is the problem.

many towns and cities in this country were just the same. illegal immigration changed all that with peoples attitudes becoming harder. that with the grooming gangs which is a subject governments hate to talk about has created this situation. we have enough problems of our own without a new import most do not want.

what is the percentage that are coming from war torn countries to the others who just fancy a better life in the west. lets face it getting a place on a boat is not cheap to start with and plenty in this country could not afford to do the same. mind you this present government would have ended WW2 in a year if german POW were offered hotel accomodation if they surrended. they,d have surrended in droves telling adolph where to stick his swastica.

Got to ask the question of these "asylum seekers" - why the UK? Why are they travelling through the glorious utopia of the EU countries and making a bee-line for Britain?
According to a Human Rights lawyer yesterday most refugees from areas of conflict move to the next nearest safe country ready to return to their homelands if or when peace is eventually restored. Most of these dinghy folk have no interest in going anywhere once they've ensconced themselves here.

And even when peace is restored in their countries, they don't go back!
Just look at what is happening all over Europe, mosques being built, left right and centre.
The muslims are here to take over and they will.....!!!
