Pretty vague as Ive no names but a good source confirms… expect a midfielder and another winger to sign soon

Yes, you can never have enough wingers. Most certainly dont need a dominant centre forward.

How many midfielders do we need?
I'd say a goalscorer and a couple of full backs / wingbacks would be more a priority.

I have also heard exactly the same as you Poolie24, with the same lack of names too.
Pretty happy one is a midfielder considering only Miley is able to actually do anything creative and 2 of our 5 midfielders are Brad Walker and Nathan Ferguson who have looked extremely poor when played.

I think we need to extend George Evans loan (it expired 4th January) and get a replacement for Bez as a priority. Hopefully Oliver is back soon and he can be the target man we need.

The club has just announced the following:

We are happy to announce the loan extension of George Evans from Millwall until February!

Oliver took a while to get match fit after joining Pools, was finally a starter in 2 games and then got crocked. I don't think we can assume that he'll play regularly in the second half of the season, more's the pity.

He is injury prone which is a shame as he just started to look the part scoring 4 in 8 appearances. IMO we need someone who will get goals as if Reid gets injured we are going to really struggle.

Evans must be hoping for an EFL club to come in for him during the transfer window.
Even if Oliver was fit to start on Saturday he'll take 6 weeks at least to gain match fitness based on his arrival and first few games so pinning our hopes on him is not a good strategy. We need someone getting beyond Reid to put balls in to him facing goal.

I would be happy to get a few experienced players in to steady the ship. (who are not injury prone)

Lets get that lad that Wrexham have just recalled from Wigan, Could not get a game for Wrexham this season(almost)
So won,t be getting a game now. So he is definitely going somewhere.

I think his £11,000 a week wages might just be a stumbling block.

fevs said although he has started running it will be a long time before he is back playing. say its 4 weeks, we need someone in now. he,ll be fine as a sub for a new player or reid. typical pools as he was looking dangerous before picking up his injury.

Expectations will now rise… couple of decent signings would get things moving……the politics of football demands proof of commitment….that’s life.

feel to get back where we want to be our new owner will have to spend big and sign players like other promoted clubs have done from a couple of divisions higher and pay football league wages. on top of that we need a dave challinor type to manage them. know its easy to spend someones money but nobody has done it on the cheap and stayed up as we know. the club will show big debts but they have not exactly been a debt free club by running things on the cheap. couple of thousand extra through the gates if we are succesful on the poych isn,t much to ask

Featherstone reckons Oliver will be out for another 3-4 weeks so signing another striker this month is a must.

therefore its players who were only on a short term league 2 contract we,ll be looking at. that would likely to have happened without the takeover. has the club more or less given up on this season and are looking at the next one to throw something big at it. can understand that take especially if they explained that reasoning to us.

The Pools boss insists he is not eyeing up a potential return for Cooke, just allowing him to train with us to get fit.

They did a really good job of covering football news about Pools while Radio Tees was banned. Their interviews with the manager and players were always streets ahead of the amateurish efforts of the lad doing it for the club.

If they intend to carry on covering Pools as well as the Boro, why not? They're not owned by Middlesbrough football club. I'll carry on listening.

We need Upgrade signings who are totally committed to the cause as the league table shows.

Would be a welcome change.

I was a little deflated when he said it, But if he does not ask he will not get.
Don,t think his targets have changed, Mine would have IF this season was given a chance.

Don,t get me wrong i think we have a squad capable of a PO place, IF the squad goes injury free for the rest of the season.
Big ask though and if McNally had not got injured we would have been comfortably in a PO place imo.

that what gets me about our injuries. its always the important players who get these long term injuries and not the johnson, ferguson ones that we would not miss. all clubs have injuries when we play them but they fo not seem to affect there performances like ours do.

Cheers i have not listened to it but i saw a post on Arsebook. I will give it a listen if they are still involved but with the BBC back i may stick with them as i think the coverage is very good.

Where did you get the idea that Landon Smith is a billionaire? I doubt there's that much money in student accommodation
He had enough spare cash to meet Raj Singh's asking price and push through a quick purchase. That's pretty much all we know about his personal wealth, isn't it?

It’s difficult to find out his actual wealth although he is described by many sources as a billionaire if he isn’t he must have money to burn by taking over at Hartlepool. Has any of Pools owners ever managed to make a profit running Pools ?

Garry Gibson probably the only one to make a profit from owning Pools, and he wasn't exactly an honest Joe was he? Remember him taking the home game takings home with him. Always wanted to be involved when players were sold to other clubs also.

well stockport are not doing bad with an owner who made his wedge from the same field. students are a growth industry both here and over there whether we like it or not.

its just like us with our hobbies. you might hit lucky selling something you bought cheaply but usually its spend, spend, spend with moans coming from your women.

No doubt Fevs got a bunch of defenders and holding midfielders on his radar to sort out what he sees as our weakness.
I'd scatter him rather than give him the say on player signings.

I'm sure Jeff will be able to advise Landon on what we need in terms of Day to Day staff, when he meets him in person (I assume Jeff still has some sort of minority share holding in the club).

I'd have Russ Green back to run the club- day to day,
Simmo back from Spenny to run Media and maybe Higgy (as Jamie suggested) or Danny Wilson as a Director of Football
One thing we can't do is change the manager (yet again) before the end of the season.

Joe Monks needs to be axed - how has he not taken any responsibility for the amount of shite that has been signed over the last few years, since he has been here? Do we know if Rusty Lee is still part of the set up? Has Lenny been pensioned off yet?

'One thing we can't do is change the manager (yet again) before the end of the season'. Why not? Surely a new owner who has presumably dispensed with a substantial amount of cash in taking over the club has every right to dispose of any underperforming personnel and appoint experienced replacements with favourable track records. There can be no room for sentiment in the tough professional football environment but if there are any twinges of sympathy for Feaths he could simply revert to his previously successful coaching role.

So if we continue playing shite football with the odd flash in the pan win every 4 or 5 games we stick with Fev?
It's a results business and if he can't get results he needs to be replaced.

My suggestion about not changing the manager, was more about putting in structure around Fev to support him.
3 managers a season for the last 3/ 4 seasons is just embarrassing and not a good look- regardless of who the owner is.

Granted it's Landon's choice and he'll do what he thinks is best after consultation with other stakeholders.
I personally think Monks is more culpable than Fev at the current time.
Whose to say that Landon didn't ask for Fev to be given the job during negotiations- as his permanent appointment must have fallen within the 6 weeks time frame of the deal being struck.

Given the club basically needs gutting internally- I'd give Fev the opportunity to strengthen the team with his own players, and give him a proper crack at it until the end of the season.

That gives them plenty of time to plan for next season and then recruit accordingly.

That said, should we lose the next 2 home games, with insipid displays against mediocre opposition, in front of bumper crowds, including the owner himself, then the axe could fall sooner than expected.

It's certainly going to be a BIG week or so, in the life and times of the Poolie Nation!

The season is now officially over with this raggy squad of players and clueless Manager.

No point in dishing out 6 n 18 month contracts now.
They will only get dragged down by who's here now and invest the
We don't give a Fcuk culture.

Just bin every player out of contract n start from fresh in May.
2 back to back home fixtures which we are deplorable at should seal Fevs exit.
Two 5 0 wins then
