Well I can't see anything more than a home win with Fevs paying his respects to why they are top of div 5 in his aftermath bullshit.

It's that bad even our kid is swerving this short distance fixture.

Given that Fev said it was purely down to 2 defensive mistakes that we lost to Scunny he's not going to change much is he? The problem is that Rochdale are far better and way more potent than Scunny so a 3 or 4 goal loss won't be a surprise and probably a red card for us as frustration kicks in.
The usual platitudes post match about how we can't compete with Rochdale or even expect to.

1-0 loss with Rochdale missing Manni Ds firepower.
Goal score after 93 minutes proving a real "wham"y for Fevs.

anybody but pools fans would be hoping for a shock result that will happen to rochdale before the season is out. pools and shocks just do not go together.

Pools are fully earthed for failure, so shocks are never a problem.

I could well be wrong but I recall reading something last week in which Feaths stated that his players usually raised their game against the top sides and consequently he preferred Pools playing against them rather than the struggling NL or lower level sides. On that basis I'm going for Dale 4, Pools 1.

It was 5-1 to Rochdale last season and Rochdale have improved since then so not much hope for poor Pools is there!

Last time I asked them they were enjoying playing for a proper club under proper ownership.

How’s Charman getting on? Still getting a ‘sniff’?

As you’re here on a ‘fishing trip’ here’s a Hartlepool boat going out to sea ….the sea’s the blue wobbly stuff…… something that you won’t see in Rochdale.

0-2 defeat to complete a full month without a single goal.

0-1 defeat would be a good result the way we are playing but I fear worse.

It's dead easy for a fan of a rival club (currently) riding high to post silly one liners here at a time when Pools are at a particular low ebb. I don't recall any Dale fans crowing here previously but I do recall times when Rochdale were for donkeys years a laughing stock as the only club in the Football League never to have been promoted - until they finally managed it in 1969 - although we only just beat them to it the previous year to be fair!

The Dale were always a struggling D4 outfit with a ramshackle ground, a perriennial waterlogged pitch, and a fanbase that would grace the NPL. Not much has changed in those respects as far as I can see. Local celebs such as Gracie Fields and Cyril Smith were popular and there were very few local beauty spots for distraction, the delightful Saddleworth Moor being one of the exceptions.

Rochdale have only been promoted on three occasions in their history - although they did enjoy a lengthy period in L1 - rather longer than Pools managed - but they have never got as close to the Championship as we did in 2005. Dale have also never won a play-off campaign so arses may start twitching if they don't manage to clinch automatic promotion this season.

Pools and Dale go back a hell of a long way, playing against each other season after season, mainly in the bottom flight. Fans of both clubs have enjoyed life in the higher echelons of English football on occasion but its obvious at present that the Dale have a much better chance of regaining their place on the EFL.

I fully expect Pools to get turned over three or four tomorrow by a much stronger side, just one of the benefits of proactive ownership, proper investment and a strong recruitment/coaching/management team. To be honest I would rather see the Dale return to the EFL than the likes of FGR, York, Boredom Wood, Scunny - and of course the obnoxious Shaggers.

We Poolies can only dream of automatic promotion to the EFL at present but football goes around in cycles and hopefully one day we will be able to shake off the malaise of indifference, disinterest, negativity and depression that is currently engulfing our club.

But the OP's insinuation is correct, what has happened to Rochdale's hardcore support?, why are they averaging just over 2.5k after such an impressive season so far?, we need answers not petty tantrums?

i,d guess there hardcore support is less than what they are getting now. a few defeats will see that number crashing down more than ours would. spotland though has improved from the 60,s where the place was a laughing stock to visiting fans from anywhere. didn,t tommy cannon the comedian once own the club. at least he was a proper commedian unlike raj who just acts the part.

Wha would you like me to do? Go around the town and knock on every door and ask people why they don’t go to Rochdale games?

Why do you “need answers” exactly? Is it affecting your life in some way?

all this really shows is the size of the average gates means little in todays football world. its down more to the size of owners cheque books and the willingness to use them that matters more in the non league game.

I would remind you that you came on here of your own accord, no one asked you to comment on this forum, you chose to do so. That action has prompted dialogue between yourself and us Poolies. No one has suggested that you do a survey around your town. Your opinion on the size of your crowds has been invited. If you haven't got an opinion or have no idea on how explain the miserable support you currently have, just say so. Have a happy and healthy new year.

Aww, and you were doing so well until your pathetic dig at the end. Rather a miserable support than a miserable overall club :romance-heartbeating:

How about another dig:

I woud have thought that the drop in crowds at Rochdale was down to the fact that most of their male population are serving time in jail!

How about another dig:

I woud have thought that the drop in crowds at Rochdale was down to the fact that most of their male population are serving time in jail!

Have they got a male population or do they still rely on the lads from Bury to do the trick. :( :( :(

So nobody has a dig at the expense of other clubs on any Rochdale message boards? ...I bet they don't

And they’d be entitled to have a pop back too if that was the case. As I’m doing.

But the OP's insinuation is correct, what has happened to Rochdale's hardcore support?, why are they averaging just over 2.5k after such an impressive season so far?, we need answers not petty tantrums?

Rochdale is a Rugby League town....up the Hornets! :D

Thankfully Hartlepool was spared from having those tower blocks!

At least the Pools fans won't be travelling to Rochdale tonight for the game but elsewhere!

That lot in Hartlepool were I think all locked up.
Not unlike the lot in Rochdale where most of them who commited those heinous crimes still walk the streets.

You are a guest of the people you are calling peasants, if you want to maintain that status I recommend you behave respectfully or you will be swatted like the flea you are becoming.
