Is the owner trying to increase the value of the club?

He believes in the importance of the fans and their involvement through better communication. If he sorts that out it might be a start. I would like to know which football clubs he's been involved in and the difference he has made, if any.
I rarely judge a book by it's cover so it is a wait and see for me. Maybe Rob Law can do a bit of digging. Somebody must be out there who can supply the lowdown on this guy.
He sounds like a bit of a bullshitter though but I'll reserve judgement.
I've no doubt Jamie will be digging as we speak.

He’ll have been brought in by Raj to do an audit to try sell the club on, that’s his background. Glentoran have a wealthy owner but he’s based in Wales so he was probably running it for him and seeing if he could move it on

I think we would have better off appointing Kevin Webster-
he must have had 40 years experience pretending to fix car wrecks, beyond his skill set!

Reckon he'll be lucky to see out the season- bit like the yet to be appointed 'new'manager.
No doubt he'll be good at talking shite, whilst walking out with a wheelbarrow full of cash in wages.

Who is currently doing this job badly- Crackling Rose?
Have we had anyone in this roll since Hobin shuffled off about 5 seasons ago?

As long as he's got his free comfy seat- fucks not given by Walter (so my sauce reliably informs me)

A bit of sarcasm there Derwent, I never thought about it as he is not involved in the playing staff but here we go just for you.
He was the CEO of Irish club Glendora but left in August after a year citing it was too much travel involved.
Tony Webster, based in Harrogate, GB, is currently a Director at Adigi - Digital Agency - Yorkshire. Tony Webster brings experience from previous roles at Institue of Directors, Xpress Fish, CNG LTD and Wayfinder Transformation & Growth Strategic Business Advice Mentoring. Tony Webster holds a 2018 - 2019 University of Salford. I can’t find on Google apart from Glendora that he has any experience in an another football club.
No info wether he is a friend of Farage or a member of Reform, we don’t want any far right wing zealots at Pools though.

A browse through his linkedin profile has someone at Glentoran praising him for getting them to open more of their ground for a crunch match with brought in more supporters, wonder what he'll make of our clubs decision to close most of the ground for the forthcoming Trophy game?
He speaks a lot about how clubs should be community focused and self sustainable which suggests Raj if he can't/won't sell is aiming to put less in going forward

could just pick a random fan coming out of the ground who could tell you the problems of the club for free. funny how clubs find money for this sort of job that would have been thought of as a joke a few years back.

Thanks for the effort but there doesn't appear to be much to go on. Strange decision. Assuming you mean Glentoran FC

Using the old adage...there are more questions than answers here.... but, as usual, we are just fans are are informed on a "need to know" basis. It seems to be one more position at the club that has been created and filled without the position ever being advertised. There are those who's expertise, record and achievements make them desirable in most walks of live and there are those who bullshit their way through the door. We shall soon find out which category fits Mr Webster. The former I hope. We could do with it.

There is a famous Tony Webster.

Writer for the Phil Silvers show amongst others.

So maybe having a Tony Webster to write the scripts for HUFC is more than ironic, considering the comedy the club has churned out to us fans over the last few years.

Ignoring any role suitability, he sounds basically like he's come in to be the CEO, something we've been crying out for for a long time. But how many people in senior roles does a non league club need? We have a chairman who pays himself very handsome management fees, a board with 3 non-exec members who won't go unpaid for their time but won't take a full salary, this new guy as a full salaried executive director, a Commercial and Operations director and an Operations manager. Do we really need all of them?

How do Pools fund all these non playing staff, from season ticket holders money ?

The way it funds most things, by way of loans from the owners companies.
If he's as good as he says he is, the axe will be falling on some senior staff positions as he looks for cost efficiencies.
Will we see any difference as fans, I'd like to think so but really doubt we will.

Just another…’mouth to feed’ …we need money spending on the pitch if there is any, not another arse on a seat giving out mantras. ……it’s like fitting velvet curtains and air fresheners on the back of bin wagons, when the bin wagon desperately needs a new fecking engine.

It's a very strange appointment after a long period of ostracizing the fans to appoint someone who strongly advocates closer community ties and strong links between fans and club?

If the club wants someone who strongly advocates closer community ties and strong links between fans and club it needs to be someone who knows the club and fans.

I wonder if this Tony Webster has influenced the decision to appoint Fevs to at least the end of the season.

His website that glorifies himself says he delivers high value for Businesses for Investors, Owners & Boards.

He will come in and talk about all kinds of bollocks he cares not about the club, just his ability to get us all on board with trying to create more value for Raj.
