Its coming around for us again with a regional draw tomorrow. No Darlo as they went out yesterday away to FC United of Manchester. Big question is will the club make an attempt to go further than they have in previous years. For me this season is the ideal one to do it as we are not going to bother the top or the bottom of the league so its something to keep fans interest in than just fullfilling league games.

I agree 100% but dont feel particularly optimistic. To win any competition you have to score goals. 1-1s and 0-0s are no fecking use.

Perhaps the tactic will be to go for a 1-1 after 90 minutes then win on penalties?

got to remember as of today we are the 10th favourite to win the thing.

i,d take that if we drew york or carlisle. winning 6 nil does not give you an easier draw in the following round but would make us wasting our time searching the records to when we scored that number in a single game and not over 2 months.

A good cup run would hopefully generate some "excitement" and interest in the fan base.......we need it!

Nothing surprises me with Pools when it comes to cup competitions. Seriously, we must have the worst cup record of any long-established football club in England.
The run to the semi-final of the Papa John's 4 seasons ago is the exception that proves the rule - give my eye teeth for another one though.

When is it?

fans of most if not all clubs in our league would see it as a game where they should progress to the next round with ease if its taken seriously. only at pools it would be seen as a banana skin. should be hammering teams like this 2 goals to nil.
