Chris Beech has 'had talks' with Pools over the manager vacancy, but Feaths is also still under consideration, according to young Stelling.

Beech has had success as a coach, flopped as a manager. One thing's for sure - if he gets the job at Pools and does well he'll be off as soon as he gets a better offer. The leopard doesn't change its spots. ;)

And do you think Fev would stay if a better offer comes along? It's a chance you take in footballs lower levels.

Chris Beech?!!
We've waited 5 (FIVE) weeks for him, FFS
if he's the alternative, give it to Fev - no brainer

Though this is Raj, so let's rule nothing out.
If Beech is appointed then no doubt he'll have been top of Raj's list of managers, he's never heard of!

That's the same as any successful manager at Pools- Clough, Tubby & DC
all the rest have been axed.
To be fair if you do get success at Pools (which is rare) then surely you deserve the opportunity to go higher - as much as we might not like it.

‘He left Pools under a cloud and pissed fans off’….my quote in the Bunker. (Nov 26 2019)
My opinion hasn’t changed.

Fevs at least until end of the calendar year then review. He seems to have stopped the rot that set in under Grayson and threatened to suck us into a relegation battle. Being sacked by fcucking Fylde is hardly a highlight of any prospective managers CV. Appointing Beech would set us back a couple of months while he assess the players and - equally as important - while the players sus him out. To be honest I can't say that I'm anything but underwhelmed by the prospect of Beech taking the reins.

Strangely Challinor was sacked by Fylde before he came to Pools and that didn't turn out so bad.

Beech is no Challinor otherwise he wouldn't be out of management, it's a ludicrous comparison.

I agree with this. Just for the sake of continuity. Because if the club replaces Fevs with Beech or some other cheapo option then we're back to square one when they get the boot (and they will). And I think Featherstone is doing well with what he's got so far.

I haven't compared anyone's managerial abilities, just pointing out the fact that the two were both sacked by Fylde, and we're out of work - it's ludicrous to imply he must be shite because he was sacked by Fylde or that he's out of management at the moment.

Read into the background of his previous departure.
There’s some people I don’t want to see back here, purely on principle….he’s in that category.
We aren’t that desperate.

And why not…let’s see what happens with giving any manager time.
Fevs ain’t gonna get us relegated,…I’m tired of Raj’s Mach 1 roundabout of managers in some demented belief we can find the right one.
It’s a time for patience for a change and seeing what happens…those demanding a ‘manager’ be employed, need to step back and try a new approach..the old approach never worked.
And…leave the manager to manage.

I'm no fan of Fev, which might come as a surprise to a few on here. But I have to admit we do seem to be seeing game on game improvement in performances. The last couple of games, since the re-introduction of Miley (?) has seen us play good possession football but far more attacking and adventurous stuff but without that cutting edge of the final ball and clinical finishing that good teams have and his substitutions on Saturday were far too late to have any real effect. Hopefully he's working on the first point and has learnt from the second, at the end of the day everyday is a learning opportunity while he's in the post.
It's a gamble no matter who is in the job for the club, but also for the individual, can't see many banks offering mortgages on the back of being employed as Pools manager.
I'd rather take a chance on the likes of Steve Watson than Beech, is Mike Williamson looking for a job still?

As i have said before Fev seems to be immune to the shit show at Pools. Perhaps there is not another human in the world who could deal with it never mind a football manager.
He must have the skin of a Rhino.

Thing that got me thinking along those lines was.
In an interview shortly after SG was sacked and Adam Campbell was reintroduced into the squad.

Fevs said " Campbell was frozen out"
Pretty damning thing to say.

Unless we can manage to convince someone like Phil Parkinson, Rob Elliot or maybe Mike Williamson (although less keen on this seen as his coaching staff are now doing really well at South Shields so was it actually down to him?), then I don't see why you wouldn't appoint Fevs.
He's doing well currently, we're seeing game by game improvements alongside better results, so why take a risk on someone like Chris Beech who has no real success on his CV or a youth coach with no managerial experience.

Fevs for me. Also I would expect a statement by the club to state that Fevs has been confirmed as manager in the next few days.
And don't sack him before the end of the season please.
Pools will not be in a relegation fight, we may have an outside chance of a play off spot IF thing are left alone.
No more disruptions to the management side of things, keep things as they are.

Whoever gets it needs to be here to see us through until at least next Xmas to give us any chance of continuity and a successful close season. Play offs this season are still achievable although considering whoever is manager is working with someone elses tools shouldn't mean sacking him and starting again next May /June.

I wonder if one year we could go for a record and appoint a manager just for the close season.
He would go down as Pools only manager not to lose a game.

At least we are playing some attractive football and there does seem to be some sort of feel good factor . Maybe Fevs a calming influence which is important . I do detect some sort of confidence returning in the final third . Let’s keep the momentum going . Self confidence and hard work breeds success

Sometimes the unexpected produce the unexpected.
Let fevs carry on, another high mileage manager is not necessarily the answer, and we should know.

Now everyone (just about) has given Fevs the thumbs up.
With getting the bunker backing (equivalent of a chairman backing his manager), The club now appoint Another, Nailed on.

at least if he doesn,t he can always say that he prefers to work behind the scenes. you cannot really blame him for feeling that way and he is young enough to eventually find a managers job somewhere more stable.

Oh well, if that is true, it is a shame.
Fully respect Fev's decision though, it is up to him what he wants and the manager's job at HUFC is not an easy one.

So will we get a statement from the club with regard to who is being appointed soon...

Presumably not offered sufficient peanuts - or maybe offered a ridiculously short term contract - I would have thought that Feaths was the perfect choice at the present time.

The good thing he was offered the job, which I thought he would be.
But it was all down to Fevs whether to accept it or not.
If he wanted it, we would now be celebrating Fevs as the next manager of Pools.
Sadly it appears, he does not want the job.
You cannot blame him either.
Beech is now fav to be the next manager....

I'm agog with indifference - some of the players have been publicly backing Feaths so I guess they won't be too chuffed.

Personally and I am sure many will agree, we don't need yet another regime change with a new manager coming, in, saying the usual things, then sacked a few months later once results go the wrong way.
Fevs knows the players and things are ticking over nicely with still the hope of the play offs.
But if he does not want the job, then nowt we can do!

Also if Fevs had been offered the job and accepted, we would have had a different club statement on the official site.
