Hear, Hear!

Some numpty on Rivals reckons Tinkler would do a better job ??? Did he not go to the game today?

joe allon's false teeth · **Posted:** Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:37 pm

him and liddle ran the midfield

Salty · **Posted:** Sat Nov 25, 2006 8:58 pm

we had more than 2 chances chipball.....duffy had 2 fair do's

sweeneys 1st touch was a save ffs!

PJ_Poolie · **Posted:** Sat Nov 25, 2006 9:00 pm

Why be so bloody negative chip?

Two chances?? I remember quite a few more how about when Sweeney was clean through?

I thought Liddle had a very good game today and every single one of them gave everything which resulted in a very good win against a half decent side.

Three wins in week and it looks like we have our goalscorer in Duffy, surely things are looking up?

im not being negative. im being honest. ive said it was a fantastic result ffs.

apologies for forgetting sweeneys trademark surge into the box, but they played better than us in the first half. thats a fact. they were virtually camped in our half . they had one disallowed, 3 headed off the line, and 5 or 6 corners. dimi has made two excellent saves in the second half and mooney got 3 headers on target that dimi took in his stride. if you look at the stats you will find that they had at least 10 attempts on goal. we have played much better than we did today and lost.

on the plus side we kept a clean sheet. dimi was vey impressive. barron was superb. two clearances off the line and two superb blocks on the edge of the box. nelson was immense. clark was competenent, and rithchie was very good defensively. boland did well to stem the tide in midfield where he was carrying passengers. daly got stuck in and won some good balls in the air, and duffys finishing was sublime.

we are all entitled to our opinions. i thought liddle was average at best. he coughed up possession regularly and gave away about 10 free kicks by fouling.effion was very poor and the new lad looked like he hadnt played for a while. i thought their midfield was very impressive, and would have been better if betsy wasnt so ball greedy. for what its worth i thought the black lad in the middle for them, number 30, was the best midfielder on the park. thats just my opinion.

I suppose he should be the one who shined, he is on loan from Chelski

BillinghamPoolie · **Posted:** Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:26 pm

I guess Wycombe is a little closer to them than we are. But we should be able to get good loans from our 'big three'.

PJ_Poolie · **Posted:** Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:40 pm

To be fair the so called 'big three' can't turn out decent sides for themselves!

poolpower · **Posted:** Sun Nov 26, 2006 12:27 am

i know it is all down to opinions Chip but i thought Effion did ok today
they were a good side and first twenty minutes it was end to end i dont think it was all one way as you suggest
they became an aggressive side once they went behind and to some extent it contributed to their down fall

Agree with all of that, they were a very good side & played the ball about well, defensively however we had an excellent game, the midfield were ok (ish) & Duffy had a stormer up front. Still think Daly is a bit slow off the mark & tends to wait for the ball to come to him, rather than chasing to get it

Not sure about Effion, did ok, didn't really stand out though.Thought Liddle had a poor game.

poolpower · **Posted:** Sun Nov 26, 2006 12:56 am

liddle must certainly be heading for a ban he is booked every game now

He seemed very hot headed, I would have subbed him at 1/2 time

I'd get him back at left back where excelled earlier in the season. For me, he doesn't suit this division's style of play in the middle

We also need to keep him away from the free kicks

Just as well Sweeney is back, a straight swop for next week then?

Indeed. If Sweeney plays like he did on Saturday Liddle might regret that silly tackle on Saturday

I hope not, our best midfield for me would be Liddle, Sweeney, Boland, Monkhouse. A midfield that is far more suited to this league, three of them over 6' and Liddle has played quite a lot as a right winger for Middlesbrough yoofs hasn't he? We haven't had a chance to see him play in that position and with his energy and pace he could be good.

Although clearly a class player, Liddle has done nothing in the middle and isn't half the player he showed the promise to be. At a time when we're crying out for goals, I hope we can find the form of Sweens from two seasons ago...

If Eiffion was as poor as people are making out, think of the alternative - Ali G :uhoh:

I know Foley is another option, but he is an option our Manager seems reluctant to play.

So the question is, did Eiffion offer more than Ali G has :!:

He did even though he is not a midfielder.

Eiffion's best performance this season was at his proper position of centre forward when he got half a game there against Rochdale. Once he was moved we lost the initiative and nearly the game.
