Certainly not, I don't expect Wild to 'pander to the darlings' at all, I DO expect him to address the situation in an adult manner as that is what he should expect from them.. I fully expect Wild to at least have them fired up like the St Cuthberts School Choir when they run out to face Hornchurch this Saturday.

They don’t appear to ‘respond’ to an ‘adult manner’ approach, they have a responsibility to perform as in any job to the best of their ability, they should fire themselves up… they’re adults.
It’s bad enough trying to sort out the farce we’re in without sulking players feeling sorry for themselves.

It's coming across as if plenty of players ain't bothered.
But it's a sport we're you still get paid the good part time wage irrespective of the result.

Imagine these cranks trying to make a living out of Darts were you are 100% payed only on performance /results.

They obviously need a reality check.
UTP.

They’re the only contractors who are unsackable.
In the real world, if you don’t put the effort in, or if you’re not committed ….. you go the journey.

Sadly, Snowy, in the modern world this is no longer the case. If an employee is suspected of not pulling their weight they usually get several warnings, then capability procedure and finally they may be dismissed this process takes years. Even then, they can appeal and take their employers to a tribunal. The modern working environment is a skivers pradise. Modern football reflects this except footballers contracts are normally for a set period: in Pools case one year or two year. At the end of the contract, the skiver leaves, unlike in the NHS or other nationalised companies who are saddled with a shower of shirkers.

NHS saddled with shirkers??
Nah they're all Superheroes, how on earth did you miss that memo??
Seriously, the world and certainly the UK is full of people who expect everything for the least possible effort. The NHS is full of selfish greedy bastards who live in a parallel universe, they're more likely to go out on strike than go out on a limb to help people.

I agree with you…but football is done to a much shorter compact schedule and the people who suffer are the fans who pay to basically be entertained.
All you can reasonably ask of any employee is to do what you’re paid to do.

I could have sworn the NHS was staffed by people who have come from overseas, just to do us all favour by looking after us with unstinting care, kindness and specialist medical knowlege. They do not do this so they can bring their extended family to the UK: that is just a far right myth.

I saw a report in the mail that Pete Wild has to off load players to bring new players in and he is happy to comply to try and get the players in to play in his system. Should be an interesting watch

Maybe if the committee responsible for collecting this bunch were shown the door, Pete would have a start to his kitty. Come on Landon complete the job for Mr Wild and fill his tool box.

Wild is quoted as saying 'You don't want to just move five out and leave yourself short. You've got to make sure you cover yourself in the building, especially next week with the three games but we will look now working with Chris Maxwell to try and make sure that we can move some out, to move some in, and free some stuff up in the budget that can get me maybe some players that suit the way I want to do things more and some players that maybe don't suit how we're going to do things'

Instead of engaging in a 'reverse engineering' exercise at a key stage in the season, in an ideal world Pete Wild would have been appointed during the summer instead of the timewaster that was Lee Clark. He could then have had a direct hand in bringing in players that suit the way that he does things instead of those who don't suit the way he does things. Just saying.

Been the same for the last 5 seasons but we are where we are - again. Pete Wild sugar coats it a bit in the interview but wanting to get up to 5 players out of the club after 2 weeks in charge is a hell of a statement. That certainly hasn't happened before! It'll be VERY interesting to see who's in his bomb squad. :o

Then there's a bunch of players still on the sick list that he's not even had a chance to see play. I guess they're all 'safe' for the time being.

I can never understand the brains of players who think they can pick and choose under what system they’ll play, because they’ve either got an ego inflated beyond it’s worth, or are in the wrong business.
