There's so many stories flying around that this one seems to have been missed.

Josh Hawkes was Tranmere's main man for several seasons, scoring a goal every 5 games from midfield. Oldham signed him on a 2 year deal at the beginning of last season, but made him available for transfer this summer. Even though his chances were more limited, he still scored 5 in 26 games for them.

According to a Latics fan "Understand that Hartlepool have made an initial offer for Josh Hawkes on a permanent transfer after he was listed for transfer recently. Probably a deal that makes sense for everyone involved if it comes off"

Can't blame Josh for taking his chance to go to Sunderland from Pools. Still only 27, I'd have him back.

I'd have him back- at least we know what we're getting. Sure he'd be happy to be back home too.

Not for me, simply because players returning to us rarely works.

bigger question is would people want to sign him even if he wasn,t an ex poolie. could not give a toss either way. if he comes he comes but if someone else sign him so what.
