Starmer said the same thing in parliament, principles only apply in opposition apparently. At least Rishi had reasonably recent governmental experience, whereas Burnham has failed previously to win the Labour leadership to the like of Corbyn FFS.
A bankrupt country, led by a bankrupt party. 3 years of hell to endure before they're booted out again leaving the coffers empty.

Fully agree PTID.

I think it is about time this whole government set up, house of commons, house of lords is looked at, it is not working for the people of this country.
All it is doing is serving the self interests of those who sit in those houses. Time for a replacement system!

Problem is, Mr S, that the people in the two existing houses would soon get their claws into whatever replaced them

And that includes them lot in our civic centre.

Politicians are totally shameless just looking to line their own pockets as fast as possible then get their cushy early retirements.

We now live in a country that's not ours anymore and we ain't getting it back due to these absolute shameless crank politicians.

It is what it is.

But still looking forward to stop paying a shit load of taxes ASAP.

You mean Reform as well, tbh they have begun as all new leaders do with the fleeting statement ‘things are worse than what we thought’ meaning an increase in next years Council Tax. I see they have replaced the flags at the Civic, why and who paid for them ?

Why constantly criticise Reform, are Labour or any other party politicians squeaky clean?
Many Labour councils are banning the Cross of St George because it's deemed to be offensive - do you agree with them?
Many Labour councils promised better services and lower CT but haven't delivered on either, hence thousands of them lost their positions at the recent local elections.
Starmer was telling us a week ago that he was the best man to lead the country for the next 3 years, now he tells us that he's been told he's not the best man to try to win the next GE for the Labour Party - says it all, Party before everything else. Snouts in the trough as deep as they can get them and for as long as they can keep them there. British Democracy has left the building.

our problem is the good ones are brought down by the ones with the highest profile and cabinet ministers. some like the one we have are ezcellent for the area and respected by the opposition. he is derised by some as being just a good local MP. well what do they want a lying snake to represent them.

I didn’t say they weren’t, come on PTID, as far as the St George’s Cross is concerned why are we all becoming so patriotic, it only used to come out during sporting events.

If you went on holiday to Spain and saw Spanish flags flying about everywhere you wouldn't think anything of it, world cup or not. Why should it be any different here, or anywhere else for that matter? I do love the lefts obsession with Reform though, long may it continue. Hopefully it keeps them distracted from the real threat to them for the next 3 years.

It might have escaped your attention Jamie but there is a massive sporting event happening right now and guess what - Scotland is awash with the St Andrews cross flags, but the English flag is offensive?? There's loads of houses and cars adorned with the English flag and guess what they're not all racists.

You’re obsessed with Reform…seek help :auto-ambulance: :character-oldtimer:
They’ve only been for a few weeks and your lot jumped ship after being torpedoed at the ballot box…leaving their mess for someone else to clean up then snipe from the sidelines while licking their wounds.

Much as I'd never vote for her or her ilk, I've got a grudging respect for her having pulled herself up by her bootstraps from a pretty low ebb aged 15 to the position of deputy PM. You've got to tip your hat to that, whatever whatever your politics.

My point is St George’s crosses were flying long before the World Cup kicked off, nothing to do with football, all of sudden some people were becoming patriotic, why ?

The English are not the same as the tub thumping Scots, Irish or Welsh who wrap themselves in their respective flags like breathing….and scream their nationhood to them….but it appears the English are suddenly rising in numbers agains thirty years of incompetence by the established Party’s and coming out of their self imposed closet.
You are just echoing that wet left of centre abhorrence with any form or manifestation of national pride….. which doesn’t have to be categorised as anto social..

Who knows, but English councils tearing down English flags is most certainly unpatriotic, they swear allegiance to the king but disrespect the flag.
What do you suppose would happen is Scottish councils started tearing down the Saltire which you see flying all year round across the border.

the reason could be a backlash to flags of other nations and minority groups being flown from many public buildings. not being a real nation of flag wavers like the usa the st.georges flag was highjacked by football fans for a few years but recently the rest of the population has got it back. tell people not to fly there own countries flag in there land of their birth you are asking for a backlash. imagine trying that on in some other countries. there would be a revolution.

No no no Accrington, you don't understand. It's only "problematic" when WE do it. Honestly, how much brain washing by the establishment does it take to be offended by any use of your own national flag? I sincerely hope that one day we look back at the second half of the 2010s and the 2020s with utter embarrassment.

run for idiots with agendas by bigger ones. go to any country in the world and its so obvious you will see the national flag of that nation. whats so shocking about that and the surprise it gives. this country is so obsessed by minority groups over the majority and is quick to put the ist or ism on people who do not feel that way about them. then there are those who have never forgiven 52% of us because that eu flag had to go.

Snowy the other 3 nations are more tub thumping than the English, the only times of recent we the English tub thumping is when the footy is on.
What I don’t like is groups like the movement hanging St. George's and Union Jack flags from lampposts and public property which is associated with an online campaign called "Operation Raise the Colours". While organizers claim the displays promote patriotism, the trend has sparked significant controversy as not everyone wants a flag outside their property. There are numerous vlogs on YouTube where they threaten residents when they try to stop them making threats like they will be arrested if they take them down.

No and not everyone wants Just Stop Oil, Rainbow flags, or that pillock at Downing Street waving his EU flag but they're not removed, in fact the police actively encourage and help them whereas if it's the English flag it's removed and you can be arrested. Absolute bollocks and wouldn't be the case in probably 90 odd percent of other countries.
Not everyone waving a flag is a racist, a bigot, or trouble-maker. And even if they were, it's our National Fecking Flag, please tell me how flying it in England is offensive in any way shape or form.

It can only offend the non English who now call the shots.
But there's people a lot worse than them.

The English who have been brainwashed and now hate their own.
We now have a wicked combination destroying our country faster by the day.

As for that rainbow shit.
It should be against the law for same sex relationships.
Pride Days what a pisstake that is.

First call of duty for any government is to look after it's own people first.

Thats what the rest of the world does and it works for them.

We don't and that's why there is so much unrest and financial depression.
Only Reform can end this mess
IMO :naughty:

How many would remain loyal to the flag if a set of call up papers dropped through the door to defend the flag ?

You obviously wouldn’t, loyalty to the flag is loyalty to your country, not a person or Party or King…your country.
From your condescending tone the only thing you’d fight for is money in the bank…proved by your greedy obsession with it.

Jamie when it comes to Politics I don't take the piss or bait other posters.
And I always have respect for other posters opinions.

You obviously want this shit show to carry on.
Not prepared to give SuperNige a chance.
To constantly keep dishing Reform 3 years in advance is a bit out of order.

That's what keeps their country ticking over.

Take it easy pal.
Can you bring me some Lippo on your next visit to Hartlepool.

It might have escaped your attention Jamie but there is a massive sporting event happening right now and guess what - Scotland is awash with the St Andrews cross flags, but the English flag is offensive?? There's loads of houses and cars adorned with the English flag and guess what they're not all racists.

I don't know what Jamie's problem is with the flags, a few busybodies took offence, nothing else...

How many would remain loyal to the flag if a set of call up papers dropped through the door to defend the flag ?

No need to go to war with a man like Farage in charge,Jamie..He knows how to deal with putin, unlike this government who are exploited and used by the EU..

How did you cope with all the bunting on Silver Jubilee Day ?..Did you hide behind the curtains watching the street parties?

You obviously wouldn’t, loyalty to the flag is loyalty to your country, not a person or Party or King…your country.
From your condescending tone the only thing you’d fight for is money in the bank…proved by your greedy obsession with it.

mind you for once i have to agree with him. there would be dinghy,s going in the opposite direction then anf not all full of non whites either.

possibly because there seems to be no middle ground. apart from football tournaments we are not a nation of flag wavers. the blame for them all is at the feet of councils and the government who love all flags but ours and make it as hard as possible for people to fly them. thing is they are not all in the right places and look scruffy after a few weeks. better banning all flags but the union flag and st,georges in england where these two can be flown on a flagpole.

First call of duty for any government is to look after it's own people first.

Thats what the rest of the world does and it works for them.

We don't and that's why there is so much unrest and financial depression.
Only Reform can end this mess
IMO :naughty:

I can’t stop laughing a country run by a snake oil salesman who allegedly takes £5 million bribes bearing in mind rumours are he is about to step down and a bunch of ex Tories and tax
avoiding billionaires, I think you are definitely taking the pi** KPG or baiting me.

Does ‘Nigel’ come to you in your dreams…..you being the Ebeneezer Scrooge of politics and cash….and the visits are getting more frequent……. Seek help, he’s taking control of your mind.

Unfortunately Farage has got control of other people’s minds, they will regret though in the end, it will be their nightmare if he ever which I doubt becomes PM.

And I always have respect for other posters opinions.

You obviously want this shit show to carry on.
Not prepared to give SuperNige a chance.
To constantly keep dishing Reform 3 years in advance is a bit out of order.

Super Nige is on the way out, did you not see his recent interviews on breakfast tv shows on the vlog I posted, he will sail off to the sunset very soon.
Thailand is not my false paradise land like many others I can live a very affordable life in a half decent climate.
Thailand gets over 30 million tourists a year, only a few daft fellas fall for the fake Thai brides, I can’t blame the Thais, a few foreigners come flash the cash and the fake brides see an opportunity for security. How many fake brides are there in the U.K. where women only marry for security.
Lipton, what’s that ?
