How times change. When I was a kid the cup final was a massive event and streets were empty. Today I had no idea it was on until I changed channel and it was on live. Worse still I switched over after a couple of minutes completely disinterested.

Yep, used to be a full day event with all kinds of what seemed to be at the time good, entertaining, inclusive build up - the opposing It's A knock Out used to be funny as feck.
I note that today they've gone back to the traditional 3.00pm KO. Can't see viewing figures being too high. International matches and the big Tournaments are pretty much the same now for me, boring as feck and pretty meaningless.

Someone once said that they couldn’t get excited watching 22 millionaires kicking a ball about , that’s how I feel about it.

It just sums up modern top flight football. More people becoming disinterested and detached from it. Its not real anymore and its all designed for the top clubs to stay top. The football can be boring with constant pointless passing and managers more interested in possession % than actually winning a game. Add to that VAR ruining the game, cup final being played before the league has finished, far too many European games played, leagues all finishing at different times and overpaid players. Its just soulless now

Anyone watch the back end of Celtic v Hearts

2 major Var absolute corruption decisions for their last 2 games.

Very dubious 99th minute penalty winner on Weds nite.

Then today 87 minutes winner which went to Var and was clearly offside but it was allowed to stand.

Total corruption but the commentators n sky didn't even bring it up.

A bent bubble protecting there click!?

The odious Chris Sutton would have said it was onside by a country mile.

Thought the Celtic scorer was offside in the first phase of the attack but not when he received the ball to score the winner. I think the rule is that the offside should have been given.
Definitely not a pen midweek for Celtic, there wasn't any angle which showed the defender touched it with his hand so no clear and obvious error.
Obviously bent as feck up there in favour of record breaking Celtic. Really can't see how so many don't get bored of it, it's almost a given the top 2 Glasgow teams are going to win everything it can hardly really be classed as competitive sport. And the standard of that sweaty cup final today was as bad as some of our games in this league. Absolutely shocking goofball for a lot of the game.

One time, before the football world went mad, you could name most of the players in the teams in the First Division, yet despite the glut of coverage nowadays, most teams players are transient strangers.

Nah, games just left you behind pal. Get ya 80’s panini sticker book out and some tissues and stop moaning. Or at least… not in that way. Yawn.

I was gunning for Hearts but if they had or were winning the Celtic fans would have invaded the pitch and all hell would have broken loose. Reading reports the Hearts staff went straight onto the bus didn’t bother getting changed and went straight back to Edinburgh. There would have been no on pitch presentation of the trophy on the pitch if Hearts had won, the hatred of some Celtic fans including Rangers fans is beyond belief.

When you can’t moan, you might as well throw the towel in … we can’t all be happy go lucky optimists like you now can we…?

you might do if they played with some attacking passion. people say clubs are not interested in the fa cup now and i tend to agree. why then cannot they put on a show for all the fans bothering to watch. did i watch. yes, the first 20 minutes and then watched the highlights of nicky featherstone,s management which was more entertaining.

I'll still watch the FA Cup Final if there's a team playing that I have the slightest interest in.

Chelski and Citeh didn't qualify.

neither would pools if they unfortunetly ever reached that level. we do not want to be where we are at the moment, but that crap on show yesterday cannot get hull or southampton fans excited to see similar every week and pay the price clubs ask for the priveledge.

Think it's just an interim boss, as Fev is still in high level talks with them!

When I said Fev was high level talks- what I omitted to say was that he was in a cherry picker on the Fulham Road!

I actually enjoyed the final last year when Crystal Palace won, and a few years back when Leicester won it. Problem this year is that no matter how much they win the GP will never give as much of a shit about Man City as they will Man United or Liverpool for example. And Chelsea, quite frankly, are a joke. Other factors include it being played while the league is still ongoing, and the fact that it doesn’t get promoted at all for some reason. I completely forgot it was on until yesterday afternoon.
