Didn't Raj have a thing against paying agent's fees?
Hopefully our new recruitment partners know what they're doing for next season.
At least of those clubs paying ridiculous (for div 5 imo) fees is going to miss out on promotion though.
would not knock raj for that. its like some extra tax being put on clubs who have to pay it if they want to sign players. a drain on the club finances that could be better used elsewhere
It was Hodcroft who didn't agree with agents' fees. These figures are published every year and Pools were always in the top 4 or 5 spenders in the NL under Raj - but a long way behind the likes of Notts County, Wrexham and Stockport.
Those teams spent their way to promotion but others like Bromley and Barnet didn't need to - they had settled squads and weren't staring from scratch every season. Same goes for Rochdale if they go up.
No surprise to see the relegated clubs Carlisle and FGR spending silly money on agents- they were trying to hang on to League 2 status. What IS a surprise is Pools spending less than Boston and Dagenham and Redbridge.
Given that Pools will basically be starting from scratch again you'd expect our spending on agents' fees next season to be up there with the likes of Southend and York.
