Morecambe now 8 points from safety following the Heed's shock win over York City tonight. They are indeed desperate for three points from tomorrow's game, draws are pretty useless to them at present - but the same goes for Pools. Feathers, Lidds and several players have all been making noise about the playoffs still being on. We will see who wants it most tomorrow night.

Barring injuries, it's nailed on to be the same team that started against Truro. Might have one or two walking wounded back to make the bench less horrendous.

hopefully nobody throws a last minute sicky before the coach leaves and we have to use one of our spares again.

Eric,s lot will need to Attack, So our usual boring tactics SHOULD put them to the sword.

I remember going to Morecambe when the free coaches were laid on….we went in the car and having breakfast in the cafe as they passed through Kirkby Stephen……driving down the M6 later we came to see a coach laid up on the hard shoulder, wonder if they made it…?

Morecambe were served with a winding up petition earlier today. Not sure this will make any difference to the result, it may demotivate some of them.

Did it the hard way - hitting the woodwork twice when we could have gone comfortably ahead. Got the job done though!

Good win at the end, all we can do is keep winning our games and see what happens

3 wins on the bounce doesnt happen very often at pools. Tough set of fixtures coming up but at least we are showing a bit of fight.

Was it Cam John with that unbelievable header off the line? Absolutely incredible. 3 points in the bag and still got Southend to come to us. A big stretch but every games a cup final now.

Great stuff! Came from behind twice. Cameron John though. He was blinking brilliant tonight - and that goal line clearance at the end was out of this world.

To be honest I thought Sinclair and Reid were poor in the first half. Well and truly came up trumps in the second 45.

Forest Green are struggling badly, 8 points in front but we have a game in hand.

Great win tonight, hopefully a couple of signings tomorrow to strengthen the squad and give it a right go!

We have to play them at home as well, certainly going to be an exciting end to the season.

Suddenly we seem to have found the old 'Never Say Die' spirit plus a bit of momentum. Actually securing a play off place remains unlikely given the number of points gifted to opponents during the course of the season but, as Landon said let's have a bit of fun in trying. Pools have everything to gain and nothing to lose unlike the clubs currently established in the play-off places looking over their shoulders with backsides twitching.

An enjoyable game tonight, two teams looking to attack and im chuffed we managed to come out on top. Some great build up play for Reids goals,thats where he's best, not coming deep or holding it up, his game is getting on the end of things. Thought sinclair was a handful especially in the 2nd half, caton had a good game, covers the ground and is a good finisher but MOM was definitely Cam John, he was unbelievable tonight and what a goal line clearance!.
Even if we don't make the play offs at least it keeps the season alive and is something to aim for,better than mid table mediocrity. Interesting still having Southend and forest green to play so who knows!

Only managed to catch the second half but Cam John played incredibly well. All of a sudden despite a less than convincing display the playoffs are still in sight.

If we managed to pull it off I’m not sure which potential scenario is worse:

1. Playing York without either John or Sinclair, our entire left side and let’s face it, probably our two best players at the minute.
2. Playing Rochdale and Mani scoring the winner against us.

Would be a good problem to have though I guess.

We've got 7 games in 26 days coming up. The starting 11 is picking itself at the minute, they're so far ahead of the rest of the squad. Might get McNally back at some point but not signing anyone else is as good as writing off our chances.

That was a solid performance. Bodes well for next season . I’m pleased now we are playing with 2 strikers. I think Caton is a good prospect . Young lad with plenty of potential still learning . Cameron John just superb. Think Featherstone got it right more positive and on the front foot and no stupid substitutions when we were playing well but 2-1 down. Still think the playoffs are remote but we are coming into some sort of form at the right moment . Well done lads and praise to Featherstone . I’ve been critical many times but think he got his team selection right tonight

Good to score a few goals in a single game and to come from behind twice, fair play. That’s more like it!

Don’t want to put a negative spin on things but we’ve had so many of these false dawns this season, that it feels like we’ll now be on the cusp of a crash back down to earth losing streak.

If we can sign 2 or 3 before the window close then I think we’ve got a small chance of being the surprise package. It would just be so good to go into the Southend game at home within 2 points of them. Tough run of fixtures for us where I think we’ll need more than the bare bones defence we’ve got available now. Would be very surprised if we don’t dip into the loan market for defenders given last nights result!

Featherstone got his tactics right last night and it worked…but why did itI take so long…?

Careful that’s teetering on the edge of praising Featherstone there.

Credit where it’s due, not a problem to me, but the question has to be asked.

That last minute was the longest of my life.

The tactics were right when we beat Rochdale at their place at the end of December and Carlisle at the Vic a month ago - both tougher tasks than any Pools have had in the past 10 days.

Pools have struggled against teams that come to the Vic to defend, frustrate Pools and then nick a goal - the same tactics Featherstone uses in away games.

Funnily enough we've seen the last of that - the home games against Rochdale, FGR and Southend should all be a good watch because these teams will want to show that they're better than us. Maybe they are, but they'll have to prove it on the pitch.

We've got history of not turning up when the stakes are high, can we buck the trend in these next 7 high pressure games?
We could succeed, miss out fighting, or meekly fall away - surely it won't be the latter of the 3?

a couple of new lads in would be a massive PR move from the club even if we did not make it. its a win win where fans cannot argue that the club did not give it a go. even i pools do not win they always look better against the better sides in the league so the opposition does not phase me.

it was justice we won last night. every player on the pitch had a good game and played there part including the subs who did what i expect was asked. at the moment the play offs are still on as we have not reached the scene of we need to win this and others need to do us favours in beating the other 2. we have not reached the must win every game stage either as we could still lose one or draw a couple and still make it if the rest are wins.
