a couple of hours that start at 3pm saturday. fevs cannot win as we are expected to come back with 3 points and anything but that will be just another nail in his coffin. feel it will be latter that happens.

To date relegation threatened clubs have viewed Pools as a soft touch so will bust a gut to turn us over.
However we should be capable of a Fevs inspired draw.

You'd almost think that the teams threatened with relegation feel that they have more to play for than the ones fighting to make up the numbers in the play-offs.

Sutton got smashed 5-0 at home by Morecambe in between beating Pools then Scunthorpe away.

Morecambe's recent form is better than all of Pools, Halifax, Southend, and Scunthorpe. So is Gateshead's!

It's almost as if the teams pretending to fight it out for the sixth and seventh play-offs spots know they'd only be making up the numbers. Daft given what a lottery play-offs are, but how else to explain that they're all in shit form?

never give up even if those who represent the club on and off the pitch do. they are basically on loan where for us its a curse brought on us we cannot remove how ever much we try. even trying another club does not work when you find it hard waiting for the pools result to come in and asking someone what the pools score is if they are checking the scores.

could be a case of players fighting for new contracts with these clubs who are fighting the drop. clubs and fans seem to remember players fighting there great escapes and give them another chance. for those who do get into the play offs and gain promotion. the futures of some players might have been decided already so why give it 100% when 90 might do especially when they know there is something decent for them with another club on the horizon.

Momentum is also a key factor. I imagine if you are playing in a team that is in a run of good form with plenty of wins,the desire to keep that going must be strong. Psychologically the players all give that little bit more. If you're in a team which is a bit hit and miss like Pools, then the temptation may be to just do enough not to stand out. It must be hard to play your bollocks off while your team mates are just doing enough.

Reid missed an absolute sitter right on the goal line early in the first half. Hayes saved one with his feet that looked like it was going in. Tht was about the limit of the 'entertainment.'

To be honest I think our last two home games (and today) have completely removed the wheels from the bandwagon.

The highlight of the game for me today was when Miley dribbled the ball 25 yards, showing great pace and beating two of their players RUNNING TOWARDS OUR OWN FECKING GOAL!

Yes I checked them out last night . Interestingly their manager is still in place who happens to be the owners son!! And Harrogate is a nice trip out . You have one of the best Wetherspoons in the country and you could buy a fat rascal from Betty’s to sustain yourself at halftime . A bit expensive but a treat .

I dont think ive ever been so bored watching a pools team than i have this season. Shows how weak this league was when we could of easily got into the play offs. Even now if you won 5 games on the bounce you could probobly make them. That wont be us but just shows even this shower arent that far behind play offs.

This was an odd match, Truro just charged and barged around the pitch, how they kept it up I have no idea unless they train with the SAS…..with a couple of dominant players…. but it wasn’t football as I know it….a lot of rushing and barging on their part.

Agree. The squad isn't quite good enough and it's hard to understand why a bigger push to strengthen it hasn't been made.

Pools have been all about make do and mend since the change of ownership. No club serious about the play-offs starts a game with a midfielder in central defence. As soon as McNally got injured a loan signing should have been made. Tom Parkes has had so many concussion injuries this season that it's debatable whether he should be allowed to play at all.

There's no proper cover for the goalie either, so it's a mystery to me why trying to buy a winger was a priority, but not being able to secure Pat Jones' signature is laughable. How about bidding a bit more money?

In the last 5 months Pools have made one 'permanent' signing - Holohan to the end of the season. He's had zero impact. We've signed a few kids on loan and one player, Sinclair, who is a game changer at his best but unable to do it week after week - which is why he's surplus to requirements at York. Other than him, the best players in the team were all here at the start of the season.

never got past the price list. rather have a day out in rotherham than one in harrygit.

same here. i always used to look forward to my monthly trip up to the vic even when we had a re election team to watch. there always seemed one play you hope was playing unlike now when you have only defensive football to cheer. now i order a ticket then regret it.

We signed the keeper in January on a permanent. Agree we're lacking CB cover and a striker.
Plenty of options in midfield so Holohan was absolutely not needed and we could have invested his wages elsewhere.
When LS said we'd be having a right go at making the play offs and we'd have fun doing so I expected some quality players to be brought in but it seems that talk is cheap. The fall off in attendances will surely show him that the fan base is fed up with empty promises.

Maybe our inability to perform at home on anything like a consistent basis has something to do with declining attendances. We've had one or two good wins (eg Carlisle, Solihull) but have had more than one or two stinkers. Icing on the cake was the miserable loss to play off rivals Halifax. Why would anyone but the most ardent Pools fan keep turning up to the Vic when Pools invaribaly let them down?

once we could rely more on our home form and it was away from home where we showed our weaknesses more. most fans never go away unless its a close game and it makes the team look worse than it is.

A very good point, Mr K. Also of course, there are some folks who enjoy the experience of pain and misery so every second Saturday they go to the Vic for their fix.

I’d kill for the chance….I turned up when they were shit and even got my kids hooked for life…and if things turn out right I could be back ….. telly and the radio are not the same , no smell of wet mud and grass down by the pitch side…funny the daft things that you relate to.
