No Charman- injured? No Daly on the bench has made a difference when brought on Looks like all out attack by the number of forward players in the team.

I reckon Fevs will be privately cursing the fans.
I finally give in to the bastads n this is what happens.

Back to normal at Tamworth next week!

Now watch the crowds plummet to his bye bye in May.

I'll bet none of the fans wanted one of the best defences in the division to be f*cked about when his best back 4 were available? Cameron John on the bench to play Benn out of position on the left, Benn on the left so our best CB has to play RB, McNally at RB leaving a gap in the middle to be filled by our poorest CB. 3 positions weakened because he chose to leave Cameron John, who's been one of our best and most consistent players all season, on the bench.
Who was the play-making CM, it certainly wasn't Holohan.
Blaming the system or formation is utter bollocks, it was shocking team selection in the first place.
He says we can't play anything other than the dour, defensive shite he's been serving up lately, but it wasn't the case when we played higher pressing, more forward passing, quicker games at Halifax, Rochdale, and Eastleigh where we took the game to them and win

He didn,t give in to the fans Kevin he tried to be clever and it back fired.

Added attacking players, Changed formation and the guess what USED THE SAME TACTICS. Reid isolated
He and especially Dickman are WAY out of their depth.

he certainly got everything wrong, and its pointless having an attack minded team on the pitch that rarely looked to have the 3rd worst defence in the league any problems. yet again another sub standard performance when we have not had a game for a week. 3 shockers now in similar circumstances. somethings wrong somewhere.

I'm not so sure that starting Holohan was a good idea, he's clearly not match fit and the game pretty much passed him by apart from his one run into the box when he probably should have done better by shooting earlier (easy to say I know when you're in the stands or on your sofa). Crowd singing his name before and during the game, Fev clearly bigging him him up as better than what we had (won't have done much for confidence), high expectations nowhere near matched by his performance - not unusual for ex players returning to Pools.

Yesterday was very disappointing and at times absolutely cringeworthy. There's no doubt that it will be seen as a watershed of this season by many of the returning fans, plus some of the regulars who will not be back anytime soon. All of the goodwill and hype surrounding the departure of RS has effectively almost been blown away by the Woking and Aldershot 'performances' by the manager and most of the players. Obviously Landon cannnot be here every week to evaluate and take appropriate action at times such as this therefore he needs to appoint a proven director of football whom he can trust to be his go-to man, his eyes and ears at the club. He also needs to clear out the remaining backroom personnel who are failing to bring anything different to the club although I'm assuming that this process is still underway. I can't honestly see any decent EFL players queuing up to sign for Pools after yesterday either as Featherstone inferred last week. Thoroughly pissed off.

i,d say someone to advise him that fans can trust as well. we have all been conned in our lifetime at least once and would hate LS to get the same treatment from somebody who should not be at the club but has a silver tongue.

Agree wholeheartedly, we have been through several years of mistrust of what is actually going on at the club. I think the vast majority of fans have faith in and are grateful in what Landon is doing for the club but it would be preferable if someone was appointed to handle affairs at ground Zero on Landon's behalf. Sir Jeff's name has been bandied about in respect of being someone who both Landon and the fans could trust as a middle man. I can't honestly see Jeff uprooting back to Hartlepool but someone who is well respected within the fanbase would go a long way to providing the fans with a bit of assurance that the times really are -a- changing. Certainly none of the current incumbents would be capable of such.

Jeff Sterling would not be my idea of an advisor to LS, he's too close emotionally to the club and is a great admirer of Fev based purely on how long he's been at the club rather than his abilities. We need an outsider who knows what a successful club looks like and who can do a fully impartial assessment of what's here, what's not, and what's here but not working properly.

The suggestion of Jeff Stelling was purely an example, as I said he is unlikely to be interested anyway. I still think that someone who had some credibility with the Pools fans in the past (obviously not recent past!) would be preferable but as you state someone who is generally highly regarded in the game with previous experience would represent a good choice.

As far as i am aware LS has his own people at the club.
Would think they would be laying the foundations.

Jeff,s a bit busy.

As good of a spokesperson Stelling has been for the club, not sure how much he would value he would really be adding in that sort of capacity. Also, tends to have a “just support the club” mentality based on his social media interactions. Not sure how helpful that is when we’ve got a player in the dugout who doesn’t look to have what it takes to take the club forward at present.

Hopefully you are correct and LS' does indeed have his people within the club beavering away with the 'foundations' . If this is the case they need to up the ante and appoint/announce who is departing and the identities of the new backroom team PDQ as the season and the fanbase will soon be falling apart rapidly given the indifferent performances of the team over the last few weeks.

agree as long as the outsider has his heart in the game and not just someone who sees it as just being a job. think you might get that few percentage more from someone who loves the game and eventually loves pools as well.

I agree.

For me, pools are not dissimilar to the NHS as in just chucking money at it will not resolve the issues long term.

We need a top to bottom overhaul, cut away the dead wood and retain those within the club who add value.

Once this is done, start putting in place what’s required to take us forward.

LS is a successful businessman. I doubt he’s got where he is by piling in money and hoping for the best

Absolutely.

In fairness to Raj he stabilised the club and as far as I’m aware he made sure all the bills got paid.
I think it was also a case of minimising his losses which, being a successful businessman, is understandable but unfortunately usually doesn’t equate to success on the field.

Hopefully LS can keep us in a stable position whilst overhauling the club top to bottom and injecting the finances to get us back to the EFL.

the only way he will be able to do that is increasing the losses and have bigger debts. if he has come to run the club like his business and making profits he will be in for a big shock. hope he realises that football is a loss maker especually if he wants to bring success to pools. do not know how much in debt clubs are but most put ours to look insignificant especially in the championship.

Looking back IOR maintained they ‘subsidised’ Pools to a million pounds a year even with crowds in excess of 5000, the players were on decent wages, Watson wouldn’t have been playing for peanuts. Will LS be prepared to do similar, trying to balance the books on a attendance of 5000 and attracting decent players would be difficult.

Why don't you ask him or see if the answer is in any of your fictitious books. Start your communication with Dear Mr Smith cos I think Dear Landy might be misinterpreted. :ugeek:

Ah Derwent you can’t resist a sarcastic reply,I won’t find any answers in my books as they are all crime thrillers Derwent, no mention of LS in any of them I’m afraid, any mention in the books you read what ever they might be ?

I might have known that you wouldn't understand my answer. You asked a question regarding the intentions of LS. As he is the only person who can really answer that question where is the sarcasm in suggesting you ask him. The other part of my answer is pure piss take, which is a result of you informing us all that you get most of your opinions from novels. Now you tell us that all the books you read are crime thrillers. I'm not sure the authors of such literature are au fait with the running of a football club. You'll be telling us next that Agatha Christie was a speedy winger.

Don’t think for one minute that he’ll see us as a means to make a profit.

I think it’ll be a case of how much he’s prepared to invest/lose and to what level he’s hoping to take us to.

But as mentioned, I think he’ll be looking to invest his money wisely and see it put to good use.
Heres hoping…..

But that applies to all clubs in this league and most of Div1 and 2.
Success lays in the hands of the generosity of the owner and talent of the manager.

Id be over the moon just to comfortably challenge for a top 7 place.
Then eventually promotion then comfortably staying in division 4.

But good luck to Wrexham in there quest to do the almost impossible and there 4th consecutive promotion.

Reckon the Hollywood Boys would be in a bit of profit if they stayed there.

really doubt they are looking for a profit or will ever get one. unless they expand there ground and get 80k in a week for games and make big profits on selling players the club is a money pit but get publicity and a feel good factor our of it. you cannot put a price on being an owner of a football club thats a success with the prestigue it brings and the love of thousands.

not just in those leagues but from the premier down to the lowest level of semi pro football. unlike the good old days where gates mattered the most.
