Your a bit slow in replying Snowy I posted that on the 24th, i am aware what presidents served and didn’t serve, I was just quoting a fact about the current president, you sound like you are admirer of Trump maybe even Farage ?
Trump is always slagging of Obama, he deported more illegal immigrants than any other president, nearly 3 million but Trump won’t mention that because he was a Democrat.

But the theme carried on to a later date, it’s how message boards work. There, there.

It feels like the rest of the world is moving away from Trump.
The USA economy/markets wont like this as isolation will shaft the US economy.

He appears to bring change where conventional ‘politicians’ talk and talk and talk and change nothing.
He appears to dismiss their diplomacy and throw their rule book out of the window…..I wouldn’t want him living next door to me but he does have an uncanny habit of kicking the door in rather than knocking on the door repeatedly and asking nicely if the occupiers wouldn’t mind awfully coming outside for a cosy chat.
In a world where most politicians in the West are tedious middle aged students of politics with the personalities of failed actors he was bound to stand out from such a tedious wet crowd of hand wringers.

It looks to me as if he also looks longer term, yes there'll be pain tomorrow with the implementation of tarrifs but there'll be jobs tomorrow when manufacturers move to the US to avoid those tarrifs.
He's highlighting the rise of Islam through uncontrolled immigration across Europe as being a threat in future years from the enemy within - and he's spot on.
Definitely a doer rather than a fence sitting talker, for all that he often comes across as deranged.

it would be interesting if the UK could bring him in on loan for 6 months and see what changes he tries to make. feel its fashionable to knock the bloke like years back people were fans of obama who could do no wromg.

There will be no pain tomorrow as manufacturers of clothing, footwear etc, many will not move back, the prices of the goods would be unaffordable as the rates of pay would far exceed those in the S.E. countries, all the tariffs do is force up the price of imported goods, deranged sums Trump up.

But it's already started Jamie quite a few exporters to the US have already started moving manufacturing to the US which will lead to more jobs. Maybe clothing will always stay in the far east. But one thing for certain is that if you don't manufacture much at home then your economy suffers long term. Look at the UK for example, all traditional manufacturing allowed / forced to move abroad, prices rise as does unemployment.
Stop focussing on today and the knee jerk reaction of stock markets and instead concentrate medium to long term and it's a whole different world.

Tony told us we needn’t get our hands dirty and we could all get worthless Degrees, only to find out it wasn’t the answer ….realistic degrees yes, but too many frothy Magic Roundabout topics to choose from…..and debt.

Unfortunately the engineering base of the U.K. was no more where companies were no longer taking on hundreds of apprentices every year, the only alternative was further education, worthless degree courses were created at the same time saddling people with loads of debt and no job prospects in the majority of cases. At 21 years of age the students also have no work ethics either.

The engineering base was ignored because we had endless governments of Tory and Labour who thought it old fashioned and sought alternatives which Europe and the rest of the world did not.
Middle class minds ruled in both administrations and arrogantly thought they could provide ‘nicer’ alternatives and avoid do away with getting hands dirty….and look where we are now.
The result of 45 years of neglect.

So you either continue to do the same things and accept that the country is in a continual decline as imported goods prices rise along with unemployment and government borrowing / taxes. Or, you can try to reverse the trend which Trump is trying to do, meanwhile Starmer is.............??????

Are you telling me my degree in ‘the history of 1972 UK singles B sides’ was a waste of time and money? If so, I’M NOT HAVING IT.

My Masters Degree in ‘Street Lighting Patterns in Workington in the period 1912 to 1932’ was money and my credibility well flushed down the toilet.

I heard a discussion on the radio recently where there 29 screwdriver manufacturers in the UK, now there are none….undercut by crap…but I have no choice…labels can safely be ignored nowadays…
A friend bought me some Staedtler. pencils….all said manufactured in Germany…but the tin they came in said produced in China….rather like our wind turbines and solar panels….so we’re buying stuff to be independent of world energy fluctuations…but we’re now dependant on China….how do these people get elected…?

Not sure that stopping the war in Gaza, trying to stop the war in Ukraine, trying to prevent Iran developing nuclear weapons, galvanising NATO members to increase their military capabilities, etc makes him a danger to the world?
He may use blunt weapons and is ridiculously clumsy at times in the way he goes about things, but given the rhetoric coming out of Russia I'd say Putin is a far bigger danger to the world.

You ever been to Thailand Sussex and witnessed the way of life or standard of living there, they don’t live in bamboo huts and there is actually running water, electricity, people aren’t running round in rags, there is no requirement for food banks and a far superior very fast reliable internet system compared to the U.K.
Utilities are owned by the government and prices controlled by them making them affordable for the Thai people not going towards the profits of private companies.

the problem for years was paying workers too much who were not prepared to give it everything they had. then things changed where it was all about shareholders and the profits they could make. as for food banks they have just become a way of life for many with so many not really needing them. seeing people turn up in newish cars to get there handouts and playing with an expensive phone whilst waiting really winds up many who work in them. thats before you get to the dinghy diver situation.

Ha ha another misconception about Thailand, the only people who come here for the sex trade are the 2 week thourists, very few come here looking for partner although some have and have been cleaned out, lost everything.

Seriously difficult to get citizenship here, Thailand are not as soft as the U.K., you have to learn the language first, have a job a Thai can’t do also you can’t own land either.
I will be back in Costa del Seaton in a few weeks, I have rented a flat overlooking the beach, I will keep an eye out for you Snowy. I got a bit of a shock yesterday, i used to go to the 9 Coins Bar for some Real Ale, the manager who I was quite friendly with has been jailed for having his fingers in the till.

Of course he can, there's been plenty of recent Presidents impeached and been subjected to criminal trials.
You seem to be very quick to judge people guilty based on what you've cleaned from your fictional sources, be it Trump, Farrage, or even Farrages partner, Reform councillors, .etc yet never retract anything when it's found by officialdom that there's been no wrongdoing.

Never criticised Obama for the ‘Arab Spring’…Clinton for his er …’cough’ ….escapade or Biden for being Biden….nothing, just quietly ignored.
The bias is without equal.

I don’t think there will be anyone criminally charged over the Epstein files unless there is a truly shocking revelation. It’s more the embarrassment of the association. Trump was a big friend of Epstein over decades and if anyone thinks he wasn’t up to his neck in it they’re deliberately looking the other way. I personally couldn’t really care less unless it’s truly criminal. As for having a Trump anywhere but the most powerful country in the world is pointless. Who are we going to bully?

Well I would but I can’t cook Thai food also you can’t buy the fresh Thai herbs or the sauces to cook authentic Thai food in Hartlepool, not all Thai food is stir fry, they do some nice soups one called Tum Yam a nice spicy soup. The food they sell in the Thai restaurant on the Marina is nought like Thai food, just a ‘bastardised’ version off it.

Egg and chips would be a treat…we had our old feller filling us up with his curry’s and Italian food when home from sea, long before anyone had heard of it….me nan used to say he was poisoning us with his ‘foreign muck’… ..she’d probably be arrested nowadays by the thought police.

No comment on Labour Grandee Lord Mandlesson accepting money from Epstein Jamie? Is there something in it as he's resigned from the Labour party? Should he be stripped of his peerage?

try the headland cafe as the owner is from tailand and makes thai dishes.

The Thai dishes might be the same in name but not authentic, you need the Thai green herbs and sauces, we have bought some authentic sauces and Thai rice from a place in the Boro but it’s 4 times the price. When we got stipuck during the Covid pandemic we used to go there and buy stuff, no fresh herbs though.

Well what's Farage, his girlfriend, Trump, Ex Prince Andrew, got to do with you, or the Reform councillors who've resigned?
I asked you as your political bent is definitely towards the Labour Party and you're pretty much a supporter of them considering your defence of Starmer and his motley crew since they gained power, Mandlesson is one of the elder statesmen of your preferred political party and not a peep from you when if it had been about any of the aforerntioned you'd have been condemning them on here instantly.

has anyone else ever wondered if these epstein files are actually 100% the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth anyway. could be a case of being tarred with the same brush as you have said through association.

2 tier, nope because in the past you have followed a certain party doesn’t mean to say you have to like their members.
