Didn't he used to be the metal work teacher at the Tech in the late 60's ?

Underwhelmed to say the least. No spring chicken but not a great deal of games played in the last couple of years. Hope he turns out to be a good one though, big gloves to fill after our recent goalkeeping loanees.

Well Snowy was crying out for a player experienced at this level in an earlier thread. Can't say he doesn't fit the bill on that score !

I stand by my belief that these wonder kids aren’t as good as an experienced pro at this level.

Aye, its what we do. We love to sign a promising young keeper, never let them near the first team, loan them out and then release them.

Southend fans commentating in their local paper are proper cheesed off. They seem to think Nick Hayes is better than the keeper they're holding on to..

??? This season : Harvey Cartwright 23 and George Evans 20 - both excellent loans.

The missus and the Outlaws are SARFend fans and apparently a significant number of their fans are fuming.
Personally hoping he's more Mark Tinkler than Chris Wreh - our last two signings from Roots Hall.

they were, but both had mistakes in them that were not highlighted like our own keepers from the past were. cartwight the better of the two had a few dodgy moments flapping at crosses and missing the ball as well.

The new keeper is confident we can win the play off final in May.
He really rates this squad.
WOW

WOW

all new signings say exactly the same. its a total waste of time putting these interviews out. be more interesting hearing what players say who are not retained by the club.

Hayes is just shy of 6 feet 5 tall. As long as he commands his area the way a bloke that size should and isn't as slow as Scott Loach getting down to low shots, he should do fine.
