We keep hearing about delayed elections because Councillors have an extra workload.
Can I point out it’s the Council Officers and staff who do the work…..not the Councillors.

lets say many councillors are inundated with emails, phone calls, visits. the good ones act on them but the bad ones just take the money.

Who is sending them as very few people are interested in local elections, most people wouldn’t even know their councillors are.

I'm beginning to think that Starmer is actually being used as a tool to wake the electorate from their general slumber to what is happening in this country and to why more people should be getting off their backsides and doing something about it.

they might not be bothered to vote in these elections but are quick to get in touch with councillors when problems arise for them. i,d guess there workload is greater than it once was. its just some put more into it than others do.

You tend to find a handful of Councillors run the circus and the rest nod..
Make them live in the ward they represent…and be independent.

They should be getting in touch with their MP as they are a full time politician. Most councillors have jobs and can’t devote as much time as they should do to being a councillor.

most actuaaly do but in many areas the few that do vote prefer a party supporter rather than a so called independant that few actually are. sjow m an independant and you,ll find somebody who would not get elected if they had a party backing.

He’d turn up for the opening of a bag of crisps…like the Akers Belchers, always beaming out from one of his many images from newspapers to posters.
