What our older fans need to do is stop going on about how shit we were before n after IOR.
:naughty:

This is a new era where our Youngsters fans deserve a bit off success.

Move onwards n upwards together in unity.

Would expect a quick drive to get fans onside so wouldn't be surprised to see the long knives out soon for Pearson, Lawrence, Monks, and possibly Fev dropping back to a coaching role and a new manager arriving.
Most importantly this news coupled with a great team performance against Rochdale should give the stay aways a spur to return and hopefully gain some momentum and make a challenge for 7th spot.

They will be asked what they do and what they bring to the club.

A 40-50 year-old Bash Street Kid? 'Youngster' is a flexible concept on here
Anyway, looking forward to all the principled stay-aways piling into the Vic for the home game against Alty on 17th January. Should be 4,000 Poolies in at least

Walter Mitty Shithead will have a right sweat on- when it's quickly discovered that he represents himself and not the fanbase that he pretends to. Hopefully his freeloading in the comfy seats is withdrawn with immediate affect.

Joe Monks needs to fuck off pretty sharpish too, along with our resident chef Rusty Lee!

I assume Raj will probably re-home Lenny once his new gaffe is finished.
Who does that leave us with- Crackling Rose- or has she already departed?

I'd have Russ Green back- running the day to day- a true gent who knows and respects the fanbase

My second appointment would be getting Simmo back from Spenny, to head up the media department.
Failing that poach Young Stelling from the Fail

My other appointment would be Gordon Watson as Director of Football - we can then axe the coach driver as the 'Bus will drive itself!'

he,ll certainly need to find people to run the show with him living thousands of miles away with other interests. hard to imagine he has his own men lined up and would be better taking advice from us than those still left at the club who are as much of a problem as raj was.

Russ Green and Simmo would be a good start but I don't think we should descend into insisting or demanding who should go and who should stay, or be recruited. By all means make suggestions and hopefully they will be considered. Demanding just gets people's backs up unnecessarily.
This new owner has to be coaxed into becoming a Poolie not bullied by people who think they have the right to tell other people how and when to spend their money.
So far all we have is a new owner and he has to be made to feel welcome. All our future hopes, ambitions and dreams rest on his shoulders. As always with owners we are in his hands.
There are many reasons why he could get pissed off but I am certain I don't want to be one of them.

Depends on what Raj negotiated for his gang of merry men with the new owner?
Let them stay on to offer advice and help while the transition period takes place?
Or did the new owner want a clean sweep and start from fresh.
What about Tony Webster? What was his role in the takeover, what is his role now?

A lot of questions to answer but I think we need a statement from the new owner sooner rather than later!

Looking at the Tailwind Group in more detail, I get the impression that the new owner sees Pools more as a hobby to own a football club.

However I reckon he will be still be serious enough about changing around the fortunes of our football club, certainly back to the football league and put us on a sound financial footing. Afterall money will be needed and also astute management of our football club. I believe we will see that.

Their expertise does appear to be in property investment and management. To bring these skills to owning a football club will be interesting and I reckon we will be surprised just how things develop and what the new owner wants to implement.

It will certainly be one hell of a ride I reckon!

one thing about yanks is they love a winner and are very quick to dispense of those who they feel are not up to the job. far more ruthless than we are and not worried about hurty feelings. if he is the average businessman from over there our future looks rosy for me as losers and shirkers will not be wanted across the whole club. its up to those still left to prove they can benefit the club to push it to where the owner wants it to be. surely nobody thousands of miles away hobby or not is prepared for more stagnation.

I reckon we have now finally bottomed out of our downward spiral which had to be done for us to start rising upwards again. ( WAS LOOKING LIKE DIV 6 THEN THE BIG A FOR SURE)

So to build up from div 5 struggling under new ownership has restored a lot of faith back into our Fan base.

A great start to the new year in my book.
Tad of patience required like the big fella has quoted.
Then hopefully next season we have a realistic chance of challenging for a top 7 spot.
It is a very poor standard division.

UTP.

Or he could invest in a couple of players asap and give it a go this season. Armstrong signing made the difference and brought the best out of Oates too. Clinch that 7th spot and it's game on in the lottery of the play offs.
As you say it's a poor division so worth a shot.

after today we have 2 weeks before our next match. time to bring at least one good player in at least to show the fans he means business. still nearly half a season left to get as high us the league as possible. its not where you finish in the play offs that matters its the in form team who has the best chance of getting the winning lottery ticket.

Wonder if we'll be playing in stars and blue and white stripes next season?

As long as we're not promised gold taps and heskulators!

That said it continues to stagger me how Bournemouth (with a capacity of 11k) manage to sustain a Premiershit squad- FFP my arse!

TV money and a very rich owner.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that Pools and Bournemouth played out a very non competitive 1-1 draw down there, a game still not forgiven by Port Vale fans.

Thought that was when we drew 1 each at Swindon on the last day, that secured us both spots in the lg1 playoffs. (though I could be wrong without checking Mad John's Bible)

I'm sure Flinders scored a goal against them in a 1-1 draw at the Vic (circa 2015)

Could be, maybe memory is getting fuzzy.

I think i’m confusing a couple of things. We drew at Bournemouth on the last day of the season in 2005 to make the play offs but it was 2-2 not 1-1. There was a game where both teams needed a point but maybe that was Brentford. Ironic that they’re both established Premier League teams whereas we languish in non league.

Southend don't bottle home games so they just not catchable.
Wait till next season!!

They might give it a couple weeks to let the dust settle, they would need at least one of their own team at the helm to keep them upto date what’s happening and pass the info back across the ocean.

We did indeed draw 2-2 at Bournemouth to cement our place in the play offs in 2005 but the 1-1 draw to cement a play off place was against Swindon. A result that annoyed Port Vale immensely. Both us and Swindon only needed a point apiece to get into the play offs and we both duly got that point. It is very understandable why Port Vale were "suspicious".

Whilst it is mathematically possible for us to finish above Southend then they are catchable. At exactly half way in their season Southend have 41 points. The same performance in the second half of the season would give them 82 points. With 21 games left for us we have 63 points to play for, so a possible 100 points.
Without the recent takeover I would have backed your point, Kev. However if the new owner is of the mind that, with a few additions, we can have a real go and see where it takes us, then anything can happen. Given that possibility, I am not giving up yet.
If the owner believes the quest for EFL status starts on day one, which I think he does, then we'll see how that pans out.
At the very least the rebuilding has to start now.

thats true and we need to be lucky to have a new player in by the alty game. i,d have guessed pre takeover we might have got a couple in but recruitment now has to start from scratch by looking for better than we previously only had the odd back pocket change to spend on.

even if we did fail this season rebuilding is better to start now with less work needed in the summer and more time needed for that team to click. its going to be interesting times when we do see our first new signings and the calibre of them.

Being the ever pessimist the new owners are not going to be scattering the cash immediately, they will want to know what they are getting for their money.

Surely they would have looked at that before handing over a couple of million quid to buy the club.

Well we have an old face back - and presumably straight into the squad - in the shape of the recalled Folarin therefore somebody must be pulling the strings behind the darkened scenes - unless it is part of a mid season clear out. If so let's hope that Monks name is also on the list.

Let's hope that the mistakes made over at Carlisle aren't repeated - and that a proper football person is brought in soon. I'd love to see folk like Tubby Turner, Simmo, Sir R Green and Micky B recruited.

I think without anything like that i still have an open mind as to the new owners.

He/They will have received plenty of info regarding Pools, He is also a strong filler of the English game by all accounts.
And if anyone thinks this may be a tax scam then there are easier ways than buying a football club in another country.
Also he wont have amassed his wealth through lack of thought and not understanding the market, He may even have gleamed knowledge from our welsh friends.
The new owners short statement when the take over was announced was very similar to that of Mr Rynolds.
