Just in case anyone is interested, following my betting post earlier in the year.

Jan profit £1094
Feb loss £9845
Mar profit £5075
Apr loss £652
May loss of £916
Jun profit £2320
Jul profit £3080
Aug profit £661
Sep profit £2141 so far

Overall, just under 3k up.

In 2024 end of Sep, I was 27k up, 2023, 24k up, 2022, 28k up, 2021, 15k up

I usually have a good Oct- Dec so there is still hope I can get back on track but if not, I am still well up overall compared to expected over the years.
This year could be one of treading water. If it is so be it.

Kin'ell February never went well....I'd have been suicidal losing that amount.

I sometimes trade in running but I usually back the horse at what I think are value odds and let the bet run.
I've had quite a few months where I have lost a fair bit but the winning months more than make up for it.
Best month was way back in 2005, 28k made in one month!
And all from the main bookies at the time. Banned from every one of them in the end!
And I have also had to fight for winnings from the bookies on many occassions!
Scariest moment is when I somehow managed to get all my winnings from a bookie called Premierbet, Tony Bloom, current owner of Brighton chairman ran the outfit, however when he left, the company suddenly started losing money, so they decided to freeze all accounts and made it impossible to withdraw your money held with them. A lot of people blamed Bloom, I will remain silent on the subject. However I managed to find out where the new owner was and threatened to come to his house if he did not pay up the cash.
Fortunately for me, my money was transferred over to my bank the next day, someone I knew was not so lucky, lost 30k to the swindling bastards!
Nowadays I just bet on betfair and keep things simple!

Update, currently just over 7k up for the year as of yesterday.
Been a tough year but with the National Hunt starting to pick up, a few more betting opportunities are presenting themselves.
This could be my last year with the stakes I have been using, been a bit of a swine getting matched up at the prices I want on Betfair.
Next year, could see me reducing my stakes and letting the betting become a hobby rather than another source of income.
Without my betting, I would not be where I am today financially so will take comfort from that fact that I was there in the good old days of internet betting!

Quick update, Sep made £3243 but Oct more or less broke even.
At start of Nov, was up just over 4k for the year, end of Nov going to be between 12.5k and 13k up for the year depending on whether Girl Of Gold wins the last at Leicester. Update, horse could only finish 3rd but still a very decent month.

Those who read this thread, would have had a nice winner today, Girl Of Gold. 11/2 this morning, won at 5/2 2nd fav but had to survive a stewards enquiry!
