As its an international break weekend we,d be televised live with a 3pm KO league game. Is there anybody streaming the game like DAZN would be for a league match. Would have gone to this if we were showing some sort of form.

Convincing 1-0 win.
Should not the game be cancelled as Francis is on international duty?

It's a short drive from where I live but I really can't be arsed. If it's not on DAZN I'll find something else to do.
Yes I've arrived at that stage I'm afraid.........sad innit.

It's only the third time we've ever played Gainsborough in our history, first time we lost 4-0 away in the FA Cup 5th qualifying round in 1912, the previous season they had just been relegated from the Football League Second Division, then in 2007 we beat them 6-0 at their place in the first round proper, remember watching that on TV , can't believe it was 18 years ago.

Reckon we'll draw 1 each. Johnson finally getting off the mark

Their keeper will have an absolute blinder as the opposition keepers always tend to do, when they play us. Then we'll sneak through on spot kicks on Tuesday week, before being drawn away at Shrewsbury in the first round proper were we'll get cuffed 3 nil

Crowd for Saturday - 1372

Remember they got through to the second round last season where they lost 1-0 to Harrogate.

I couldn’t make it the first time we played them….I wonder if a young Featherstone was on the bench for us..,?

They have a squad that has been togeather for a number of seasons.

Rob Law on TEES interviewed their secretary the other night, Very interesting, friendly chat.

Wonder if someone from the club listened in.
Silly me, They can,t can they having banned TEES/LAW, Would they.
You have to be pretty 2 faced to do that.

When you think just months before that game in 1912 the Titanic had sunk and Barnsley had won the FA Cup.

Grayson sets his stall out for a replay, Gainsborough go 1-0 up right on half time, Johnson comes off the bench on the hour and hits the ground walking. In the 93rd minute Walker shoots from outside the box, hits Johnsons backside and deflects into the net.1-1, which Grayson hails as a tremendous result.

If we cannot beat a team 2 rungs below us then something is seriously wrong.
If we were riding high in the lge then i would not be bothered, But we are not.

Big test of character/commitment today, And i expect us to coast it, Anything else would be a massive fail.

if we carry on from the york game like that in theory we should be ok. sounds like a real old style ground better than many have of the standard they are at. hope the pitch isn,t a real leveller giving pools a good reason for a sub standard away performance which i have witnessed many times over the years.

Bloody hell Barrie- if you're going to be shocking/ controversial, the least you could do is to write the huge number of goals scored in BLOCK CAPITALS

2 (TWO) - 0 (ala vidiprinter back in the day)!

the sad thing about today is no matter what the result and how we play the team will get little credit for the performance. only gainsborough will be the real winners with the expectations being much lower. even id we scored 5 with a johnson hat trick i can hear the words now its only gainsborogh. the same team that could beat us fair and square if its just there day.

I think you get a prize for that Mr Joe. Goalie's arse and not Johnson's.

Thanks Derwent but I take no consolation from predicting the final result and being close with the arse deflection. Whichever way you look at it this is yet another fcuking embarrassment - someone within the club needs to get a grip of the current mess and stop the rot, whatever it takes to do so. Yes, injuries are having an impact but this should not be used as the only excuse for the plunge of recent weeks. I believe that there is something fundamentally wrong within the club.Whether this is at Board, team management, coaching , inadequate playing staff or a combination of all of these is open to conjecture. One thing is for sure, something has to change very soon if the season is to be saved and the remaining already pissed off fanbase retained.

Great prediction Smokin Joe.
It should be clear now that many of our squad are not NL standard and there is a danger that they will find their level in the NLN next season having taken the club with them. It was obvious to many posters that the squad was not strong enough to cope with suspensions and injuries so I feel it's rather unfair to blame SG entirely for the decline. Raj should find the funds to strengthen the squad or sell to others who can.

Well done Kettering for being the first to correctly predict the scoreline  (These emojis just aren't the same when they're not, y'know, emojies).

It'll have to be a very low scoring penlty shoot out for Pools to win it!

Just watched the post match interviews and SG says we are lucky to still be in it. He said he was not happy with the team performance and said nobody is free from being dropped on Tuesday. He has told the players that their performance wasn't good enough and isn't acceptable and he expects a reaction on Tuesday.

Agreed Derwent, the entire squad should be back in tomorrow including Grayson and the coaches after yet another despicable, lazy performance. I get the feeling that Raj and his loveable board members really don't give a shit otherwise they would be demanding that the side that 'played' today gets their arses in tomorrow morning.

Ok…we’ve got injuries, but there seems to be a malaise, a general can’t be arsed attitude amongst the players recently.
It needs stamping on and a few home truths spelt out. We’ve went from ‘promising’, to indifferent in a few weeks…make an effort.

Pools appear to have attracted a few ‘can’t be arsed’ players from the bargain basement over the last few seasons probably released by other clubs because of their attitude. Unfortunately it’s all Pools can afford and we will relishing mid table for seasons to come if Pools don’t ’up the quality’ of signings, with the current owners it doesn’t appear very likely. The talk of the take has vanished into thin air as well.

I wasn't at the game yesterday. By all accounts it was a stinker but I was at the York game last week and the team bust a gut trying to close the gap in quality on a team with loads more resources and no injury crisis.
Don't know what it is that you're smoking, Joe but maybe you should lay off it for a bit?

question to be asked though is can grayson himself motivate the players. anyone can do it with a home game against york as the players will do it for him. much harder somewhere like gainsborough with what looked like a rough surface with a slope on it. hopefully gainsborough blew their chance. good chance if there was no replays they,d have gone through anyway and tomorrows draw would have no relevance for us.

We cannot compete with the money clubs regarding quality.
But what we can and should expect is 100% commitment.

If a pro cannot have pride in himself when entering the pitch then they should never be allowed to pull on the shirt.
I think the problem lies deeper than that, Since our bright start we have plummeted badly, And there must be a reason.

I don,t think SG is a bad manager, But some of his post match interviews are not what i am seeing with my own eyes.
He also stated we have to sign the correct type of players, Well seeing is believing.
