Neil McDonald has been axed as first team coach and been replaced by Elliot Dickman- who managed
S Shields up until the end of last season.

Are the sands of managing Pools starting to shift already? Larry could be in trouble if we lose next Saturday!

Can't see what difference this is going to make - haven't Shields just regained their good form this season? There is every chance that Larry WILL be in trouble if we lose on Saturday - in fact it's probably nailed on.

Sutton although lately have been really poor, They have a new gaffa.

Sutton is a game we really should be winning in a canter.

This is Pools. We dont do anything in a canter except trample on optimism.

If Dickman can persuade Paul Blackett to follow him to Pools I'd be very happy. 7 goals in 9 games so far this season for South Shields. They can have Adam Campbell in exchange.

Never rated Campbell in a Pools' shirt, but to be fair to him he must look at Brad Walker and Nathan Ferguson and realise he's never going to get a game here even if Pools had 10 players out injured.

said before there must be a very good reason why blackett is still playing for them and another club have not taken a punt on a regular goalscorer. like the rest i have no idea on blacketts circumstances off the pitch or anything else about him but his goals.

Blackett will be on a wedge there.

He was at Gateshead 3 seasons ago and played a few games for them in the National League. They loaned him out to Spennymoor and Blyth before he departed for Shields. They didn't think he was up to National League standard.

At the time they had players like Elliott, Dinanga and Campbell(!) who have all tried their luck here.

Probably the player we really want from Shields are Scott or Dodds playing in midfield.

Not sure how relevant what Gateshead thought of Blackett 3 seasons ago is? It's a long time in football - ask Adam Campbell.

Blackett scored 52 goals for South Shields in the last 2 seasons and has 7 in 10 games so far this season. He's a natural goalscorer and definitely worth a punt - if Pools could afford him.

Scunny and Brackley aren't exactly struggling in the National League this season. We'll see for ourselves how big a gap between the divisions there is on Saturday.
