We get lectured by the young about saving the planet, yet drove into the Sandy car park this morning to find litter everywhere…all fast food cartons and plastic scattered round parking lots, just thrown out of the window, by the more privileged kids whose Mammy and Daddy bought them a car…the sort who’d cut down a tree to stand on the stump and lecture us about saving the planet…scruffy, lazy gets want to get back to basics themselves.

young uns will always be young uns no matter how brainwashed they are on this subject. its a pick and mix how they will save the planet and there actions are exempt. laugh is there are more rubbish bins than ever about unlike in our days when there was nowhere to put our chip papers when they were done. they were done unlike today when many are just half eaten. every car now has to have cup holders fitted. go back years top cars might have had a picknik tables in the rear but not a cup holder. ots a standing joke in my house.

Agreed….I just hate to see a mess that the lazy buggers can’t be arsed to drive a past a bit and put their fast food in.

If the authorities cracked down on the litter problem, they would generate enough revenue to fill up the council coffers that are full of holes at the moment. Not to mention stopping Reevesy's hand as it snakes towards our back pockets.
We should get all the unemployed young people out litter picking, that would get them out of bed and into the fresh air. Do them the world of good.

Just drive along any road in England and admire the amount of rubbish thrown out of cars on the roadside, especially after a roundabout, bottles of urine etc.
I have noticed Scotland do clean up their roadsides a lot better.
But it has always been a problem, despite the Keep Britain Tidy campaigns.
We were told at School, take your litter home.
In fact it should be common sense not to throw litter away but these people don't even have a brain cell that do it!
A pet hate of mine when I see someone throw litter away. I always try and have a word but the person is usually a fool and my message is lost on them!
Best answer I got once was well that is what the road cleaners are there for! They added that if they did not throw their litter away, the road cleaners would not have a job! banghead

the thing is photographs taken there could have been taken anytime in my life but not on an english coast or most parking areas as was discussed earlier. somehow we managed to go out without the need of a constant drink in our hands and once glass bottles were a nice little pocket money earner for us kids who were lucky enough to find a few. a disguarded soda syphon was a find to tell your mates about.
