Anyone remember Hi De Hi a tv comedy set in a holiday camp that was owned by an American (Joe Maplin). The American owner was never seen but he used to write memos which the manager had to read out to the assorted misfits who worked at the camp, chalet maids, entertainers etc. The memos were full of American style psycho babble and and sounded funny read in an English accent. When they were read out, everyone looked slightly bemused. Wondering if thats what happens at Pools. Landon sends an email from across the pond, and Bromby and his mate read it out to everyone but no one can quite get what he is on about.
Ha! I vaguely remember this. Brings back memories of ‘Old Mr Grace’ from Are You Being Served. He was the ancient boss who used to rock up from time to time on the shop floor. He always looked befuddled and confused and always had two scantily clad, leggy, nurse type saucy ‘bits’ looking after him. That’s how I remember it anyway, but I was only 14!
